haha sorry! i try to only use strong language when i'm talkin about people who knowingly scratch my car.
-
i think you're lucky the coppers don't care!!!

i just got some pics off my digi.. my car has been stored here since december 1st.. but its coming out on or around may 11, and i'm overjoyed!! :D ..also a bit overwhelmed, a lot of little fixes to do as soon as i get it home. these are taken at my grandfathers shed. its very dusty (dirt floor and all), but i hope to lay some concrete over the summer and turn it into a super high-tech corrado tuning centre. :thumb right: thanks for looking! :D

here's a pic.. i have a better shot at home i think.
-
my vac reading goes as high as 20 i believe... during steady easy driving it sits at about 10. as soon as i give a bit of throttle it jumps to about 5psi of pressure.

haha... i don't know if i "need" em... rather.. i "want" em!! basically.. i want tires that will take full advantage of the amazing handling that my car has... right now the dunlop GTs are letting me down. they're ok, but i squeel em all the time. i want to make sure when i buy something that it will grip like a mofo and not let go.. and that i won't be disappointed. i figure, i'm spending all this money on the car.. and aren't tyres one of the (if not *the*) most important thing?? maybe i'll settle for W-rated.. :?
-
mine's mounted on the pillar.. perfect spot for it. i have some pics but they are on my home computer.. ill try to post em tonight so you can see. its also nice to have there since its in such plain view.. new passengers in my car are always asking about it... "what's that thing do??" and i tell em "it gauges how hard i'm given er... so if you see it go to 12, you know i'm goin balls out!" hah! i think you're on the right track fat tony.. the boost is bled off, and i think there is vacuum because the engine is sucking in the air......anyone else care to elaborate?

thanks again kev. just heard back from my 'source' and here is what i got.. prices in canadian: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Goodyear Eagle F1's - not available in either 195 or 205 they suggest GS-D3's only available in 195's - $165.17 each (not installed) 205 - not available Pirelli P Zero Nero - not available Dunlop SP Sport 9090 - not available in 205's - 195 are $137.00 ea Bridgestone S02/3 - 195 - $263.00 EACH OR $285 for 205' s up to 2mos to get them? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- does this sound right? you can't get goodyear eagle f1s in 205 50 R15 or 195 50 R15??? and what about the others i supposedly can't get?? i doubt that they are 'not available'.. probably 'not available to my source'.. which blows sinces it'd be a lot cheaper to get them through her.. any thoughts?

hey, sportcomp boost.. thats the one i have :D ..well pleased with it. i blew the co pot out of the IC tube shortly after i got the car... noticed the lack of power, looked at the gauge, and knew within 2 seconds of noticing a problem that it was lack of boost. very handy to have. fat tony: the G60 does produce vacuum.. i have an idea of why but i'm not the resident physics guy.. so won't touch that. its beneficial to display vacuum on the gauge since the vacuum raises and lowers based on rpm... so if you know that at a certain rpm the gauge always reads a certain number, and all the sudden that number is off.. you know there is something wrong. i think i may just go with the summit a/f for now and save the phantoms for when i have a little more BLIIINGG 8)

need to find out if the rims on the car are 6.5J or 6J.. will the 205s fit either way? should i consider going to 215s? i want wide.. but not too wide so i dont kill the ps pump.
-
ya they have backlights julesz. top of the line gauges.. i have a boost gauge in the car already.. no complaints at all. i'm switching my gauges over to white face... i'm not doing too many other 'racey' interior mods other than some metal bits.. i think the white gauges give the car a bit sharper look, but are still in good taste. :thumb right:

is there any problem in fitting 205 series rubber instead of 195 to stock size 15" rims? the car has 195 50 R15 on it now.. i'd like to go up to 205 50 R15 when i get my new tyres. will i have to change offsets at all? i already get a slight rub on the right side when the wheel is cranked all the way, but its just the plastic liner.. so i can dremel it or just take it out. ..the car is fairly low. i'm not looking for any more work right now.. have enough on my plate.. i just want to know if the 205s will go on without much fuss/alteration. thanks! :D
-
you sure you don't want vacuum on your boost gauge as well? i'd be up for it.. but not the cobalt series. i like phantom better.
-
v nice. dunno about the direction audi is taking with their front ends.. i can't really say why, just doesn't quite do it for me. i wouldn't mind those mirrors on a c  but i'd have to see em on there to be sure.......jim?

lowg: my (sick) G60 is only putting out 12psi (its cammed)... and it has heaps of torque to spare with no cat. flames are bad ass!
-
what about the G60.. any problems bumb starting that? i've bumped my XR a few times.. but never the rado. nice to know if its alright to do it though, just in case i'm stuck w/ a dead batt.

Did Volkswagen produce any Ltd edition Corrado G60's ?

nice! i love full red leather interiors.. like the le mans series raven pearl metallic TTs 8) ..but there's 400 of them. even if i could find a campaign i'd never buy it.. i'd be afraid to mod it.. or park it anywhere! ..and i really don't need another car i cant drive! :? -
this has been beated to death on almost all the forums and lists... but i don't think i've seen it on this one yet. try looking in vortex, and yahoo lists.. it makes it a bit doggy off the line, gives it a bit more quickness at higher rpm. in a torquey G60 its a good idea to lose is usually.. not sure if you VR6 guys would benefit too much..
-
they won't make that passat-corrado... its just some photochop happy guy with not much taste, or idea what the corrado is all about. "... space for four to sit in comfort..." hmm.. i'd venture to say that our cars have space for four to sit in comfort... i wouldn't say its luxury comfort (like the long A8  ), but it has the most comfortable 2-door sports coupe rear seats i've ever been in... my friends never have a problem sitting in the back of my car. if we roll in any of their jap crap its a brawl for the front seat so you don't smash your head all day in the back! haha... little japanese fellows shoulda used some normal sized people to base their designs on! lol

"yep, just had the charger rebuilt last week!" -
i see the corrado as VW's best design work... i can't decide whether i hope the new design will be better or worse...... on one hand it'd have to be something REALLY nice out of wolfsburg for me to think its nicer than the corrado...so that'd be really good to see. but on the other hand, i won't be able to afford it (the 1990 corrado is the newest of my 4 cars  ) and it will outshine my ride and make me envious of 'the new VW' when i see them on the road. :x ..whereas now, i see any other nice new vdub and i think... sure its a 2003 and its all shiny and crispy clean, mine's still better

sounds like one of the most common colours with one of the (if not *the*) most common interior combo. so as far as being limited i'd say its far from it.. i've never heard of a wolfsburg corrado around here.. but i'm in north america. could be that there is one over there.. or could be that he fit wolfsburg badges to try to get a better price (or just to be cheesy).. :? -
i'm ready to drop some cash on some top of the line tyres. i'm looking for ultimate handling in the dry.. but i don't want to end up around a post in the wet either. what have you guys tried and what has worked out the best? i'm running dunlop GTs in 195-50-15 and they're ok. i'm going up to 205-50-15 this time (thats the right size, right?).. i figure i'll have some rub to deal with, i imagine the PO fit 195s because of it, and i just stuck with that size when i did the fronts only last summer.
