exactly, and there's not much you can do about it. doesn't help when the insurance system (that is supposed to be to INSURE the condition of our vehicles) is setup so that anytime you have to claim anything, it ends up working against you in the long run. that is what makes me MAD. there will always be twits fucking up nice cars.. its the insurance companies and the people who take advantage of them that are the real crooks IMO.

no... you just have to pay a membership fee. thats how it is over here anyway... ive been going to costco with my mum since i was like 10 years old... she paid around $100 a year for membership IIRC.

..all it is is 8 or 10 LEDs that light up according to voltage.. would be $5 to make yourself with some knowhow. for something a little more accurate you could rig up more LEDs.. 20 or 30 and have more increments.

we've had no smoking in any public place (including bars and coffee shops) here in kitchener for at least 5 years now. its great. quit smoking, i did, its a filthy habit. smoke pot instead much better for you!! i totally agree. i say ban phones, makeup, shaving, eating... etc (all of which i've done while driving i might add, so its not that it wouldnt effect me.. maybe not the makeup bit) half the time that i'm following someone and say "what the fuck is this twit doing?!" it ends up they are on a cellphone :x i say ban hands-free as well. they did a study that found that drivers were just as distracted when using hands-free. its about the conversation, not the action of holding a phone. if you need to use the phone, pull over. if you need to talk on the phone for hours at a time put on a bra and sit on your sofa. text messaging while driving.. now that's just plain stupid (done it.. but it was to a really HOT girl) :lol:

i can get the oil filter from top by hand too... small rad fan yes, but i have stock IC. i guess you're right the pathway isnt that much longer to the IC, but the path from the IC to the TB has to be longer... not to mention the pressure drop from the big IC as well. i'm stumped on this one. i wish i knew someone local with a big FMIC and someone with a nice short A/W to compare back to back.... maybe i'll have to try both on my car before i'm happy..

im still not sold on the u-bend/front mount. that u-bend and all the extra piping has to kill boost response somewhat... its so much extra airspace to fill. i know the power is up with a FM, but how is the boost repsonse compared to the stock setup (or an A/W setup)?

ya that makes more sense VR. the ecu is the brain of the car. why would you want to trick it into doing harmful things to itself? kind of masochistic isn't it? :lol:

you boring out the PG block to 2L? most people go with .5mm overbore, 1.9L 83.5mm JE pistons. you could consider a 2L 16v bottom or 2L ABA bottom.....

sounds like a good shop. wish i could find a goodun like that over here. i was going to recommend taking a stab at it yourself but for that price, and that service.. might as well let them get their hands dirty. cheers.
