cops wont hassle you as long as the signal is still orange.. and the reflector is in the bottom of the taillights so it will still work. might want to leave the reverse light rectangles clear.. i dont see how they could hassle you much, they probably wouldnt even know if you did it right.. and if you do get hassled just be like "what? thats how i got the car..really stumped if i know otherwise!.." Edit: Swearing! ;) How far did you count Lanny? :) VR

i'll take two of these and one of these too might as well

:thumbleft: :thumb right: much respect to you A20 LEE, beautiful corrado! what do you mean you want to go bigger...wider? that tire choice is perfect, you've gotta love a full arch.

5500rpm on standard head/cam with the cam i have i make power to 5900ish... after the headwork i hope to one-day finally get around to... hoping for power until 6300-6500... after which the 68mm pulley spins the charger too fast... so about 6500 is the highest i'm shooting for. the G60 heads suck. i dont think any 6-speed box is a direct swap into a 5-speed... some cutting needs to be done i believe (maybe not on something like a passat...but on a corrado for sure). i guess the TDI comparison is valid... but like you said, a NICE one.. chipped, and the G60 def. has more urgency. i'm still hoping to come across an A1 or A2 golf shell for a good price that will get a new chipped TDI for a daily driver...torque fiend.

The Worlds best corrado has arrived! (AND ITS NOT MINE)

you came over and snapped some photos of my G60 then? 8) -
haha. then you've gotten the wrong impression!  yes the 1st and 2nd ratios of the G60 are too short, so is the 5th.. but the VR box was also called one of the worst VW boxes ever... said to be too long. i thought someone just said that on this forum the other day, or maybe it was another forum..

Furki: its vondribbley's logo and VR6's 'catch phrase' G60s rule!! 8)

front mount or charger cooler :thumbleft:

targa top rado?? would be unique! i've never seen one... a few convertibles been done but not a targa. i would think you'd need to strengthen both sides quite well, and it would be a good bet to weld a strong bar in the middle to join the front and back.

  hey now i did one with the BBS too i swear!!
-
 pic's busted.. i wanna see!

hell ya. and in stock bodywork it'd scare the shit out of anyone you wasted! "-I think that blue colour really suits corrados" that blue is a great colour. that blue pic is what got me considering a kit like that... but when you see different angles its obvious that the styling just isnt as nice as the stock body.
-
you're right munkay.. it really comes down to personal preference. i always said "if i get a corrado it has to be a VR6" until i got a G60... now i'd never consider a VR6. i have my reasons that i wont go into..it'll end up being a 12 paragraph essay.
-
i must admit, i liked the look of these kits when i was first into corrados years ago (when i was young and impressionable and every second car you saw didnt have a kit on it... i swear!). the fact that has to kill it for anyone considering putting this fat ass kit on their C.... CORRADOS ARE NOT RWD. i have to agree with the masses here, stock bodywork is the most beautiful form corrados can take (sorry for the fruity bit).. shaved, lowered, other than that you dont need to do anything... corrados are beauty cars. i've even come to hate the zender spoiler on mine.. lately, with 'nice' cars being defined with 'does it have a kit???', its so sweet to roll up in a car that spanks all those rice rockets in looks... and its stock! anyway, here's some pics... 8)

you got it vr6storm. he hacked out the back window bar to turn two small XR panes into one big cossie pane! other than that.. the metalwork of the XR is the same as the cossie. its the bumpers, side trim, grill, and the famous 'whale tail' that distinguish the two models.
-
probably easier to find a VR6 corrado in the states than anywhere else... states got a lot of them from what ive heard. ya there's a search, click on 'search' 8)
-
wholly shit skye i have an XR too... but planning on a 5L turbo transplant for some serious 1/4 mile power. you're right the 2.3T is a lot of fun! why did you go through the bother of changing the back windows for the single cossie back window if its going to be a rallye car? ..and how did a sapphire cosworth get into the states... they didnt sell those anywhere in north america...
-
very sorry about your luck mate!! that can happen to anyone, just a shame it had to be a corrado! let the insurance sort itself.. stay cool and you'll be through all this shite soon enough... you're ok and thats the main thing. just reading your last post now.. i think if he based the rough estimate on a golf then it will be well low, as i'm sure you're aware of.

pull em off. as long as the car hasnt been resprayed the paintwork underneither should be good. use a heatgun to loosen up the glue... then some sort of solvent to get the kack off there.. .but use one that wont bung up your paint. will look much better without the strips! 8)

just wait dazzy!

  good to see its on the way to being sorted. shame to hear you blokes bickering about something that's supposed to be enjoyable.
