  1. Hi, well mums mk3 golf has bit the dust and its been replaced with an older model(more on that another time, concours geek may be interested... :norty: ) Has anyone on here broken a mk3 golf and what sort of cash did you make from it? its a 1996 'N' plate golf 1.6 cl 3 door in dragon green which has some gti trim fitted(wheel arches and side trims) all panels are good(bonnet has a ding to the front),good engine and box(pushing 140k, but in very good nick), interior looks mint although drivers seat has a flabby bolster and broken tilt lever. Only asking as don't really want to break it, but resale prices of them looks like i may be doing. only being taken off the road as the throttle body was full of crap, (at least it wll once i finish putting it back together)and the car broke down about 3 times in a row so mum has lost faith in it! sadly it runs real nice now... Tom
  2. The mrs spotted a black/maybe dark blue corrado on dean lane near hazle grove on monday N reg ...
  3. woop woop,my first spot!!! :D :D Will do mate, always fancied popping down to the hudsvag meets, your rado was nice btw, shame you did'nt hang around. Tom
  4. Spotted a black C this afternoon on West st,in Sowerby bridge near Halifax. J *** CLY? i think. Unsure what flavour, but got the impression it was a G60, mine was parked in the car park facing the street. Looked very tidy :D Also spotted(well, my dad did) a accident damaged Splitty camper which had been hit by some idiot who jumped the lights(could'nt see them because of the rain :| ) The guy said he'd just finished restoring it as well. Gutted, i know i would be. Tom
  5. No worries mate, hope to catch up at the next meet etc, :D The storm was looking gooood!
  6. Hi Gareth, how did you get on in the show and shine? We would have stayed but had to get back to the littl'un. Was nice to meet you and to finally your C in the flesh. Tom :)
  7. I think they're will be a meet soon, we all sort of agreed towards the end of the show season would be best. Thought i should upload a few pics of the car at VWNW 2010 on the CCGB stand; Mine and Gareth Pearsons show winning VR6. Glad i spent some time polishing the tailpipe the day before I do love my new lights  Tom :D
  8. Cheers Dave, was good chatting with you, do yOu go any to any of the NW meets? Tom :)
  9. Cheers, i learnt that well lesson of taking my time after i had a polo mk4, which i bodykitted and fitted wolfrace alloys etc,it was before i saw the 'light', but i learnt my lesson from it. The car looked shocking, served me right for buying bolt on crap... :gag: I take my time with mods now, i fit them and see if i still like them in a few weeks or so, if not off they come. Tom
  10. Bleurgh! That 'musradostang' is hilarious, theres one that looks like a squashed punto(4th down?) which is never good. I like the one with alfa lights too :pukeright: :pukeright: :pukeright: :confused4:
  11. OSV's gets my vote, theres plenty others,i'll have to dig out some mags. I remember the german one from golf plus, i remember hating the wheels... there was a black one in golf plus as well,i liked it at the time, but i last time i had a look through the old mags i really was'nt keen on. But OSV's definetly gets a big thumbs up from me!
  12. Just out of interest was yours supplied by Alan day of London, mine was bought by(i assume a company called) Roy Fawden associates, the associates bit makes me wonder if they had a fleet of Corrados, now that would be something. :D
  13. Nothing at all, but i do think older cars suit the old charles wright font plates instead of the newer font. I agree the spacing on the plates is a bit to big(i did'nt order them like that, thats just how they turned up!) but they've grown on me now. Tom :)
  14. Pics of the new plates and rear lights, which i think really work on a silver car. Tom :)
  15. Spotted yesterday near the seven stars pub near the m66 in Bury, j ### juf black/dark blue g60 with red/clear rear lights, looked tidy, i was waiting at the lights coming off wash lane, tried to catch you but you gorn! Tom
  16. To be honest those pictures where as i bought her and are actually the ad pics. I'm skintus maximus at the minute, so just doing bits as and when, i treated her to some new metal plates and a set of all red rear lights( i have pics,i'll put them up later). I'm planning a wheel refurb over winter, tidyup the interior (have had dreams of leather but i've decided to keep a cloth interior in there), delock and colour coded handles, new clear side indicators(the ones on there have been on an age and look it!) A new rebuilt more powerful engine would be nice, but that probably won't happen until this one goes pop! Pics to follow. Cheers for the comments! Tom
  17. Hello all, I thought it was about time i started a build thread (not that there's much building going on...). I've owned Betty since March 2010, I bought her off Benjo on here who lives in West Sussex, and i live in Lancashire, so had an excellent road trip there and back to pick the old girl up! I do have plans for her, but i'm as broke as a joke until my golf mk1 project is sold, so i've been doing little bits and bobs, Anyway, here's a few pics of the car when i got her;
  18. Spotted a standard looking n reg vr6(storm?) turning off into taunton deane services off the m5 about 12 noon. N ### OHV/OVV? I was a passenger in my mums golf mk3. Also spotted lots of nice t4's and a very nice audi coupe. Tom :)
  19. Spotted 2 today, well i spotted one, the missus spotted the other in Heaton park car park (race for life). 1st one spotted near sainsburys at Heaton park heading towards m60 junction/Heywood/middleton, M ### RKR (?) Red and very shiny! Looked well looked after although went by too fast to get anymore detail! 2nd one spotted by the missus in car park, white Corrado with its spoiler up reg started MIB so guessing northern Ireland / private plates? Was very nice by all accounts. :) Tom
  20. Spotted a deep blue M reg VR6 on the m62 heading in Leeds direction this afternoon about 12.30, I was in the silver rado, gave you a wave hello! Looking tidy mate. :D Tom
  21. purpley grey G reg g60? parked on a side street just off the main road into Edenfield, near the fishermans retreat. Looked good, standard alloys,i was in my mums golf looking for some car booty! I was actually looking out for the polo g40 which used to be parked there, i think its been replaced...Anyone on here? Tom :)
  22. Sure this has been done before, but... I've owned mine 3 months now, I still get giddy when i know i'm going out in it, Everytime i take the Corrado out i love the amount of admiring glances she gets, And i love the speed of the thing(don't say it vr6/g60 owners!) plant it in 2nd, bye bye boy racer! Also, i go out last thing at night and find myself staring at her, those arches, that blunt nose, that happy tail. I short, i love it. :D Tom
  23. StueyB ; Many thanks for the excellent all red rear lights, completely as described and can't wait to get them on the Corrado, Many thanks, Tom :)
  24. Bit of a late chufty, but was in the park near us (nuttall) with the missus and my little girl, when we went back to the Corrado, i noticed a chap walking away from it, when he saw that the Corrado was mine he walked back over and said he had just been admiring my car, saying it looked very well and asking how suitable it was with the littl'un as he was wanting to get one, i told him it was suprisingly practical. He had a mk3 Golf GTI 16v. Noice chap. Not the best chufty compared to some overe the last few pages but felt it was worth mentioning. Tom :D
  25. Oh right, well i can lay that idea to rest for now! It seems the early gauge holder is easier to find as well, i've found a few on ebay and i have some vdo gauges knocking around as well. Cheers guys. Tom
