  1. Thanks guys for the suggestions of the BBM kit but my car is std and I was hoping to keep it that way!
  2. Seems to be the same with all the specialists; JMR, OCD, Jabbasport all have empty shelves.
  3. Thanks for the heads up. I saw this listing but was hoping not to have to buy an engine / car to obtain a charger!
  4. It was purchased new from VW in 2002 and was fitted just over 20K miles ago. The charger and the car are completely stock. I was doing 70 mph in 5th when it let go. The car hi-cupped, there was a bang and then a horrid mechanical clanking noise.
  5. It's a 2nd car and like yours covers very few miles each year. The fact it may be metal fatigue makes me feel better as i've been kicking myself for not replacing the belt.
  6. The charger has covered just over 20K miles since it was purchased new from VW (£1500). It has never been serviced but was producing good boost. The timing belt has been replaced and was due another hence my initial diagnosis that it had snapped. I spoke to Troy (JMR) this morning and he suspects metal fatigue which makes sense since at least 1/4 of the timing belt is missing it's teeth before the snap. If anyone has a spare charger i'd love to hear from you...

    G60 SuperCharger

Looking for a working supercharger to get my car back on the road after today's incident. Standard, needing a re-build or slightly modified. Not after anything heavily ported. Let me know what you've got.
  8. Well the worst has happened. Went out for a run in the G60 today. The timing belt snapped and my Charger is totaled.
  9. Just checked my G60 and can confirm that when I turn on the ignition, without starting the engine, first the pump runs then I heard / felt a click through the pedal.
  10. I had a metallic rattle on my last G60 around 2000 rpm. It was very noticeable when running with the drivers window down and along side surfaces for the sound to reflect off (driving through bridges / in rows of traffic etc). Turned out to be a snapped piston ring.
  11. Rising prices are a double edge sword. On one hand the number of cars being broken will reduce which in turn will affect the price & availability of key spares and will stop some people from buying into the mark. On the other the prices of Corrado's are IMHO still on their knees in comparison to other marks (try buying a sorted S1 RS Turbo for the same money as a sorted VR). Traders will always try to maximize their returns on investments. This was a conversation I had a couple of times on Saturday at the VW Festival(Sorry I forget the names of the people I was talking to). The good news for me is thoughts of selling my G60 have now been banished mainly by the kids who were both very enthusiastic about the car despite a 500+ mile drive from Reading. I now have to speak to my accountant about what I can spend on the G60 which no doubt is going to be prioritized behind the new Kitchen :-).
  12. With a view to getting some miles on the G60 before next weekends VW Festival I gave the G60 a service that included new rotor arm and distributor cap. Passed the MOT with no advisories and great emissions. It ran fine for the first 100 miles then I broke down leaving a roundabout. Without warning the engine cut and would not re-start. Turns out the rotor arm had gone faulty allowing the spark to go to ground through the distributor shaft. If you've recently purchased a rotor arm from ECP it may be prudent to get a spare...
  13. Tickets arrived in the post yesterday and my car passed it's MOT today with no advisories despite having covered a total of 15 miles since it's last MOT in 2014!
  14. Looks like policies underwritten by Enterprise are affected http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82061
  15. I need to get the G60 back on the road first. If I do I will be driving up from Reading.
  16. Can I swap one for a headlight casing? BTW - I have found a box so will package it up tonight.
  17. I've got one. Both Tabs are intact, there are a couple of small circa 5mm holes drilled into the bottom and a self taper hole in the top (eyebrow spoiler)?? If you are near to Reading drop in and pick it up. It's free.
  18. I'm going to use the Festival as it's the kick up the pants I need to get my G60 back on the road. It's been ages since I have attended a car show (Inters @ the TRL in Bracknell). How do these things work now? Do people meet up along the way or just make their own way there? Also do I need to be a member of the Corrado Club? I've registered my Car with the show but have not purchased tickets.
  19. Mine are 70mm front, 80mm rear. 1992 G60 with std springs and shocks.
  20. I'm 20 minutes from Crowthorne (where GTI international used to be held at the TRL). Really busy at the moment. If you can't find anyone else i guess I can pickup for you.
  21. I suspect MDM's reference to development is Miltek design, test & qualify their systems for manufacture as opposed to the fabricators who bend pipes & weld generic silencer into the space available. I've not heard a Miltek on a Corrado (my G60 still has the original exhaust on) but I have a non resonated Miltek fitted to my V8 S4 and the drone is intrusive at motorway speeds.
  22. B6 4.2 manual (actually I called you last week about taking a look at the rattle coming from the front of the engine but am going to replace the oil check valves first). The Miltek drones terribly at motorway speeds. Sounds great the rest of the time (much better than my bother's F type R IMHO).
  23. I think MDM wanted to go with a manufacturer that has invested in a developed system rather than fabricate from scratch (having read his build thread). I have a non resonated Miltek on my S4 and boy does it drone. Only glad I don't do much mileage in the S4.
  24. Thanks everyone. Plugs, air + fuel filter added to list (I knew there were a few items I had forgotten). I'm determined to get the G60 back on the road in the spring and run it around until the summer but longer term who knows....it may go back up for sale. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't have the time to look after 3 cars these days.
