  1. Are you sure it's 3mm not 2.54mm? If it is 2.54 I have plenty of 3 way molex housings and crimps. Happy to stick some in the post for you tomorrow. PM me an address.
  2. Dave, I'm just over 6'2" and there is not a-lot of headroom. At 6' 6" you may struggle to find a comfortable driving position. I'd be careful with a refurb project - these have a habit of swallowing £'s. It may be better to spend a little extra in the first place amd buy a sorted car.
  3. No one know the difference between the old and new sensor wiring?
  4. So are there plans to make the tail pipe look like the std one and when do you think the system will be available to purchase?
  5. kit, Can't help you with the pulley but I can copy the image of my stock chip onto another if you have problems finding one. Drop me a PM if you want some help. BTW - are we going to see any pic's?...noticed you had posted on the s2 forum.
  6. My knock sensor wiring has seen better days so a replacement is in order. I understand that the same sensor is used on the 9A & PG (G60) engines. The VW p/n is 054 905 377A. I was informed that the sensor wiring has changed and recommended to buy a wiring repair kit to cut and splice into my loom. I'm not overly keen on this option. Does anyone know the original p/n and the detail behind the change? Or better still have you a good condition original knock sensor for sale?
  7. Pretty much a one horse town. I guess nothing has changed.
  8. Quick thread update: ExR32 came over on Friday. We found a number of wiring issues which will hopefully be sorted soon. I pulled Relay #30, removed the cover and examined with a x20 eye piece. A scary number of the solder joints had visible cracks. To be safe I reworked all joints on the relay. So far ExR32 reports that the hesitation / judder issue has gone. When I took a look at the relay in my G60 it was in a similar state.
  9. Drop me a PM if you want any help or just want to check a part out.
  10. If you want to test some bits i'm just down the road in Charvil. My G60's not on the road at the moment.
  11. I'm not sure that the S2 is a good comparison to draw. It's a very different car to both the UR and Corrado (and yes i've owned all three). In standard tune the S2 feels ponderous in comparison to the UR (probably something to do with the extra weight). The 20v UR is lovely car to own and drive and there is not that much on the road with that much presence. Parts is a nightmare and the rot too. Like Kev says i'd pass on a WR but would give a MB consideration if the condition was right. My advice if you want to stratch that itch is to dig deep and buy a good car. Restoration projects will cost more in the long run.
  12. There are 2 take off's on the G60 inlet. The tube you are pictured holding is the feed to the carbon canister which is part of the emissions control system. There used to be a fair amount of debate about the pro's and cons of deleting the system. There is plenty of info out there on the system. The take off below feeds your servo.
  13. I'd also like to register my interest. I've been looking at the Jetex resonated system as a replacement for the OEM exhaust on my G60. As close as OEM as possible for me also.
  14. I've been using that one for years on all of my VW's and Audi's. I've got no complaints. Great tool and a good price.
  15. Your charger oil feed line (the braided hose) doesn't look in great condition either and it looks like your cam cover needs a new gasket by the oil leak down the side of the head.
  16. The electrical component on the inner wing is most likely the dim dip resistor. As you have stated you have an updated headlight loom and this is resistor is not used.
  17. I have not driven my G60 for 2 years (bar to the MOT last month). The only mod it has is the alarm. Even the stereo (until I pulled it out) & exhaust is original. I'll post some pics up soon when I have had a chance to clean and sort the minor bodywork issues. But should I keep it standard?
  18. Me...Satin Silver as it left the factory.
  19. 996 Fronts. The rears won't stop an S2! I used 314mm A8 Discs + Seat Leon carriers machined to fit. After 10K miles the only issues I had were marks on the calipers where stones had been picked up from the road and trapped between the caliper and rim due to the clearance. If you are using 996 fronts make sure you fit the pad damping plates. Without they squeal badly. In fact mine squealed most of the time I owned them which at times was very annoying. I (like other S2) owners had to strip and clean frequently. Great brakes though and a night / day conversion from the stock.
  20. Not a Corrado but I ran 996 calipers on my Audi S2 with a 314mm disc and stock 16 inch rims. There really was not much between the caliper and rim.
  21. If you dropped your bonnet onto it I doubt you have just damaged the display. You can try connecting it to your PC over USB...photo folder should be accessible.

    No Indicators

OK - well I can't remember taking it out but Relay 21 was missing.

    No Indicators

My car has been off the road and I am preparing it for an MOT. The indicators have failed during layup. Irrespective of the direction the stalk is moved to the indicators don't work. No flashing light on dash, none of the indicators light on the outside. If you activate the hazards the switch lights but does not flash. Any ideas before I start to look? Which Relay should I be looking at?
  24. Thanks. Currently SORN, getting ready for the MOT as the last one expired in 2012.
