Yes. I reckon 6 out of 9 of the previous owners have bodged the car somewhat. My trusted family garage bodged a fair portion of work instead of just saying we don't know what we're dealing with. Cost me a fortune to keep putting right. I've owned since march, and spent a few thousand and I've only just got the suspension and engine right. Electrical and interior next, as the supplying garage didn't half bodge the window wiring, mirrors don't move but do heat, stereo is bodged, rear speakers bodged, door speakers (would have been bodged if some idiot didn't remove them at some point) *sigh*

I'll send you his address later. He lives in Bradford Not Leeds last check.

slightly disapointed...Got whooped by a Locust RS

The current st and rs use a volvo 2.5 5pot turbo, hence why there's loads of mods that have been available for them from the get go. Next gen ST is to use a ford Ecoboost 2litre 4pot turbo, which is mazda derived and feature twin inlet adjustable valve timing as well as a tasty little turbo. Friend of mine has a white rs with some choice mods ontop of some mountune upgrades and he's seeing around 380 -390 hp last time I checked in with him, keeps on blowing the downpipe from the turbo mind, but once miltek sort that he'll be giving a lot of cars a run for their money again. As for round my area, it's usually only idiots in corsas/saxos/escorts/any other old pile of shit, that try it on. 1.8 16v corrado... the fastest slow car you'll ever own. -
Top Gear worthy! Would be awesome imo! 5 door corrado!
-
Hah, as much as I love my 1.8, I do now have a yearning for 6cyl... Shame I can't even afford the insurance to keep the bugger another year!
-
Anybody encountered G34RGT (Gear GT lol) in their past on here? Mine's been around a bit... I'm currently the 10th owner, bought it from Blackpool, but it's been owned by a mechanic for Rygor Trucks (Mercedes Dealer) for a while in the early naughties. First 10 years of it's life it did piddling mileage. First or second MOT cert only had like 16k on it!

Drinks holder would be awkward wouldn't it? Think my knob might be too big though, Maybe if you got one slimmed out there'd be enough room for a drink... I considered putting a phone holder there.
-
I considered this, was gonna rebuild my fog, indicators into one using smd's and leds for light and have drl's along the bottom edge of the unit.

so did the Corrado become the classic it was predicted to be

The only VW's I like are the Mk2 'roccos, the Rado, and a few mk2 golfs... Hoping I can afford the next years insurance now! Just a shame I bought the car as it was needing almost a whole restoration! It might only be a 16v, but it's quick enough for me. Fastest slow car ever made imo  -
Guy a few doors down used to have a mk2 fiesta with a front heated screen... Our mondeo was brill with the front heated screen, took about 10 seconds to clear with the ac on full heat, heated screen on etc. Was brill, press a button say "demist" and BAM. *sigh* I just wish there was something to stop it clouding the inside on a cold morning!

Stopped by police for being too low....

I find a nice polite "Sorry, how can I help?" usually throws them off guard a little... Anti Social Behaviour is backed by a Section 59 and afaik isn't backed with points. -
Is that all - 12 pages - mine was 5 x A4 Lever Arch files !!!!!!!!!!!! But then it was rather a large claim - which took 6 years to settlement. 6 Years! What did you do? Crash a yacht! Mine was 12 pages of my day by day progression of injury Chiropractors report was... interesting. It almost seems to imply I'm lucky to be walking... He did like the corrado though ;)
-
I think he can with a letter of authority from yourself,
-
If you're going for an injury claim they'll ask for a breakdown of everything, Record any pain you still have on a day by day progression, any medication taken, painkillers etc. If you need any help getting dressed or if you have to ask the mrs to help with the washing up keep note. Anything that's affected what you would do day to day or has caused an inconvenience to yourself is what you can claim for. From my accident, I had about 12 pages of statements.

Today I swore at the space where my 'rado is usually parked. No compression on cylinders 1 and 2, garage suspects it to be a worn camshaft causing the valves to stay shut, God I hope he's right. Had to pay out for a new dizzy, as the one I had seemed to magically warp and wear itself out after the previous garage had a look at it... *sigh* Month total - £1400 approx and counting.
-
You corner... rain decides it wants to part of your mirror switches/tweeters! Not there for the extra downforce round corners if thats what you thought I meant lol
-
Let us know how they deal with the rain and cornering issue
-
Took it to another garage after my usual one took three days to figure out how the linkage was broken and my slave cylinder was u/s I might have been less annoyed if I hadn't told them it all beforehand. Took it to a different garage now it's misfiring now.
-
I'm really sorry to see that kip! I really am! I hope your insurance are on the case fella,
-
Had to call out work (Green flag) twice, once for loosing gears, once for a huge misfire. Both times out in around 15 - 20 minutes which was good... shame the car has set me back around 1400 this month!
-
Swore very loudly at it as I started loosing the gears... again. Pulled over, pulled the gaitor up, Garage never replaced the tension spring on the shift tower when they did the gearbox like I asked them to so I couldn't even do a quick temp fix to get me home had to phone out my breakdown cover. Absolutely fuming, fed up of dealing with incompetant garages.

What happened to him? 50/50 claim, lost my 2years ncb, and his mum who was the "main driver" lost a years ncb. None of the witnesses at the scene came forward. Now looking like I'm going to be unable to even obtain car insurance next year! Live in an a very bad rated postcode on crime stats (Murderer lived across the road, rapist down the street, a whole family of pot growers lived up the road) and I'll be a 20 year old male with an open claim (still!). Doesn't look good for me.

Sorry you had a bad dealing with Green Flag conker! I can honestly say standards here have improved massively over the last few years I've worked here (work for Green Flag if you hadn't guessed ). The thing to be careful with the AA and RAC is Wheel Changes and Hitting road debris. If you carry tyre slime and you've had a blowout then you could be up shit creek in some situations and be left stuck at the nearest tyre place (which is invonvenient at the best of times, downright awkward if you have low pro tyres). Both have also been known to just simply tell you to ring your insurance if you've hit road debris and it's made the car unsafe to drive. In both of these situations we still offer cover up to the full recovery entitlement on the policy (10, 25, 30 and National mileage depending on brand/policy) Look at the age restrictions part of the policy very carefully if you have individual cover, sometimes there are stipulations in small print. We allow any age of car as the main vehicle, then on personal cover it's any car up to 16/18 (depending on brand) years old. It also covers your spouse for the same cover, and it's any car you're a passenger or driver in. I use cover with my work, but knowing the ins and outs of all the policies is a benefit I guess. Also a little tip, if you're a caravanner, get Caravan Club/Mayday cover or ask for a GFMA policy from Green Flag directly as these policies will cover any specialist equipment (handy if you've locked the key in the car or the brakes are seized etc.) And with Mayday/Caravan Club cover if you're towing a caravan you get a whole host of extra cover and entitlements! The RAC refused to attend one of my friends parents when she thought she locked her card key in the car. They told her to smash the window and claim on her insurance as she couldn't guarentee the key was in the car!

My '90 Valver is on 145k! had 133k in march when I bought it... -
Speaking of accidents... The pillock who went through a red light while on his phone and speeding and wrote off my limited edition focus! Then had the nerve to lie about it and say I pulled out of a minor sideroad in front of him, even though the police and ambulance attended the scene!
