How about a full model/colour poll [Attention Corrado Nerds]
stretch. replied to v8rumbler's topic in General Car Chat
Corozin: Doesn't Corrado Sunderland have a G60 Jet? Isn't there also 2 shades of Blue Pear? LC5Z and LC5R? or something like that... -
You want a feature? After owning my car since march, I figured out on the 2nd week in November how to work the parking lights. 4 days before the car went off the road! Fyi, you use the indicator with the engine off, and it turns on either side you choose! Handy with the dark nights.

Saw a Defender pulling a Suzuki Jimny up our hill earlier... followed by a gasworks van with a digger where they had unloaded the digger and were using it to drag the van and trailer up the hill. Corrado ain't gonna be driven any time soon! Will try and get a pic after the nice hour an a bit walk home tonight!

I had a score in the head along with a hgf between cylinders, no overheating issues though. It was professionally welded, skimmed flat, and pressure tested. That along with a whole host of other work (Fuel lines, rattling pulley sorted, new dizzy, all gaskets etc) cost me £675 for the lot. Engine certainly works much better!

If I had a car that started to fail at 115 years old, I don't think I'd call it unreliable... miracle, maybe!
-
Then just send me a packet full of money, and you can buy my car without viewing... Seems like the easiest way to stop the jinx!
-
Got a honk honk and a thumbs up while in the petrol station the other day from a chap in a new white bmw xsomething... Why is it when something shit happens with the car I get loadsa bloody chufties!
-
I was going to move to horsforth, only issue is with the time I start work, I need my own transport! catch 22 sadly! At least it means I'll be saving a few hundred extra a month.
-
Had one micra owner gesticulate wildly to the car... wound the window down, got a big thumbs up and a grin Also, may have had a toy with a ctr, asked if the car was a storm, seemed surprised that it was just an n/a 1.8, tbf, I don't think he realised his vtec won't kick in till the engine is warm!
-
My (ex)girlfriend named my old car bruce... Mainly because it was a manly, grumbly, diesel. My car is either called George (reg is G34RG*) or Ivan... Presumably because it drinks more than a drunk russian.

The cheapest quote I've managed to receive so far is about 6.5k tpft, ranging from that all the way up to 27k, so sadly, until my insurance claim is closed the corrado is off in my dads name, 54, 0 ncb, 19 years experience, 2years ncb on another car, cheapest I could still get it was 1327 fc, god I live in a shit postcode area!
-
I won't have had my licence 3 years until january sadly, tried to get a quote and nada from them atm, but I'll have to see come jan if I still have the car!
-
Is that true though? If it is, you may well have saved my bacon for the time being!

I wonder if anyone with a corrado has been in the same boat as me at the moment, so here's my ickle predicament, I'm 20 live in LS13 (poor rated postcode) and the vehicle is parked in a residential car park and covered by our own CCTV cameras, and I have pass plus. I had a crash at the end of december last year, third party ran a red light at some crossroads while on his phone. Police refused to investigate or prosecute as there are no witnesses, therefore the claim is still open and ongoing in the hands of lawyers (tpft), but the tp who hit me hasn't been paid anything by my insurance (but has a claim cap of 8.5k for the complete cost of their claim). I'm now due a renewal, and due to loosing my 2 years ncb I'm a bit up shit creek, I was insured with flux who don't have an underwriter willing to touch me on the 'rado, Has anyone ever been stuck in a similar predicament? I've spent an awful lot of money getting the car mechanically sound and I'm not going to recoup anywhere near what it's cost me so I'd rather keep my car. Anyone know of any insurers that will even touch me? The majority of classic insurers won't touch me for my age, the rest because I want to use the car as a daily driver. Help?!?

Mine jiggles slightly at 70 - 80 then it feels fine again, just need to get my wheels rebalanced and get my tracking tweaked slightly.

Don't use Google Chrome...

My sister in laws dad used to be big in the tyre trade, When helping him move I found drawers full of bridgestone tyre gauge testers! Also found a first place winners hat from one of the grand prix's... Dunno if it was signed or dated or anything, he whisked it away as soon as I went "ooooh"
-
My nearest Shell is about 5 miles away... Fuel is low... do I risk it until tomorrow? DUM DUM DUMMM!
-
I paid £675 for some full leather heated recaro's for my focus last year! Full leather retrim would probably cost a fair whack less!
-
Bought new numberplates... Stopped near scarborough for them not having a space in them oops.
-
I'd rather shoot myself in the foot and walk than drive a mk3 golf same goes for an escroat or chavalier or ashtray... or anything of that "vintage" That said the only veedubs I like are the current Passat R36, and select Mk2 golfs, Corrado and the proper sciroccos.

Had a van man run over our family mondeo, he denied all evidence and it ended up as a claim against us. Make sure you don't cop any liability for it if you are claiming.

^^ Want. A lot. EDIT: "One R32 Corrado. One airfield. Jobs a guddun" You and me both mate! Many a night I fall asleep dreaming of a nice tasty 3.2 4wd set up in the corrado! :luvlove: -
I thought I had enough fuel to make it home....

I was on about the numbers on the actual gauge face rather than anything else! I have no idea what the actual pump is like, but I've not had any issues with my fuel pump... yet. -

My fuel gauge moves wildly on it's own, always fill up at quarter tank, or just as it touches the red bar. Anyone else with the 12gal tank wonder why the half marker is 7gal?
