  1. Hi guys, Are topran parts a good fit/quality etc? Any other recommendations for an alternative part and or supplier? I need a new thermostat housing for my VR6 and I assume they are obsolete from VW! Thanks
  2. I think it will look neater just swapping the plug, I imagine the adapter will be fairly big for what it is, I might have a trip to a breakers next time my shift pattern allows me the time!
  3. Thats good to hear i've got the polo parts on order, did you get the reverse switch adapter too? I forgot to order it!
  4. Very good info Kev!! You and me both mate http://www.ebay.com/itm/400415423105?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649  I can see why it won't work with a mk4 cam cover, with the CCV on the left, looks like it may fit ok with a mk5 one with the ccv on the right, what do you guys think? Oil filler is on the wrong side compared to the Cayenne cover but that shouldn't matter and it needs an adapter for the TB but I can get my old man to sort that for me! Either way I guess we'll find out haha Maybe jumping the gun a bit seeing as I haven't even took delivery of the engine yet
  5. Yeah I know what you mean about the air on the passenger side, I guess I just need to get it in the bay, even though i've seen pictures i'm finding it hard to believe I will have enough room to have it going around the back to the drivers side lol
  6. Got to say its an awesome thread mate, every other page I read I find ideas I want to steal lol I'm really starting to get into some of the build threads, some awesome corrado's on here and some equally great owners! I'm just trying to decide what side to put my intake on!
  7. Ok I found my answer about the fuel rail in Kevs thread, hadn't realised his was a BDB engine, Cheers Kev, some very nice touches, single fuel line into the bay tidied it up nicely!
  8. Yeah the pics on that link don't show it very good do they, I couldn't see any decent pics on google either, should be pretty clear once tony has them in front of him
  9. I can't really find any pics to show how the system works so you'll just have to have a look when you get them. As dragon said though it might be easier for you to buy the correct parts from kerscher rather than using the adapters you have. Depends on the offsets but you should still be able to use the adapters you have bought
  10. Ah so they are like RH's Dragon means they have removeable plates that dictate what the PCD is So you can buy specific centres depending on which PCD you need I'll try and find a link to explain how it works
  11. Hahaha, you had me panicking i'd bought the wrong bits lol My BDB had electric steering so I've bought the Aux bracket and a pulley from a 4mo. Just need to sort out a non AC belt for it. Does anyone know if my fuel rail setup will be the same as a BUB or BHF? Will i need the fuel filter with the built in regulator?
  12. Thanks, with that combination of PCD it has to be done that way.
  13. Do your adapters look like the one pictured? How many holes are there in yours?
  14. As you can see in the pic, the red arrows should be bolts that fix the adapter to the hub, the white arrows should be short bolts that fix the wheel to the adapter as mentioned above these should not protrude beyond the rear face of the adapter otherwise it will foul the hub flange and not fit properly. Lastly the black arrow, this is a long bolt that goes through the wheel and the adapter and screws into the actual hub flange. RED and BLACK bolts are M12x1.5 WHITE are M14x1.5 If i've not explained that very well let me know and i'll try again lol
  15. I agree it can be done in a day at home no bother :)
  16. Do you mean the 12v powersteering pump with the 24v pulley??
  17. I've been reading quicky's PDF guide and in there it says I should use the 12v crack pipe, i'm sure i've seen people in this thread say they've used the 24v crack pipe? I'm going to order a metal one so which one should I use? If they can both be used does one have benefits over the other? Also going to be getting a new thermostat housing, I was going to get a 12v one but if i'm using the 24v pipe do I need a 24v one? Sorry for the mundane questions but with the conflicting info I just wanted to be sure.
  18. It was more the trouble shooting afterwords that was making me have doubts about attempting it, if its not done right the first time a few of the guys seem like they've had a hard time getting things sorted, knowing my luck I would've ended up in the same boat!
  19. Yeah it all sounds fairly straight forward but no doubt I'll have a few dumb questions lol Me and a mate were going to have a go at the wiring ourselves but once I'd paid for the ECU immo and coding work and then a remap it seemed silly to give myself the headache when Mark gave such a fair price!
  20. I'll take them please pm me with payment details plus postage :)
