I think Big Ben's might be A* VRG but can't remember. Just the VRG rings a bell from when I saw it at Compomotive EDIT: Just checked his pictures and he's H not A. Must be someone else... I guess VRG would be a rather popular private plate for a Corrado (and Golf/Vento) though
-
If you use a GT TDI engine, then I'd have thought you could use the gearbox.
-
Like other Ben said, it's unlikely you'll get a match on the group buy price... but James did appreciate how smoothly things went with this forum, so mention you're from here and I'm sure he'll give you some kind of discount, even if only a small one
-
Will most likely be a C20LET, from a Cav/Calibra Turbo. The fastest FWD 1/4 mile in the UK (or possibly the world) was Specky's (Vauxhall) Tigra which has a highly tuned C20LET

Hamilton is arrogant, but not in the same kind of way that most people take arrogant to mean. He has the optimum level of arrogance (not the most, but the ideal amount)... confidence and arrogance aren't the same. He's got loads of confidence, and so he should. But he's also got a level of arrogance that is NEEDED at something like that. It's the same kind of arrogance that pilots have. (I'm sure other people have it too, but I know it first hand in this example)

how long did it take on the m25 to roll from 99,999 lol  treated my baby to premuim wash and adjusted headlights At 5mph I'm guessing a good 12 minutes!
-
I don't bother counting mate. If I did I'd be too scared to drive it again..... What's insurance like on it too (compared to for a standard VR)
-
Wow. Kev you wheel whore I'd love to see this car in the flesh and have a good snoop around the engine bay. What does it owe you in total or did you not bother counting?

I know I should want a British driver to win the championship, but both Button and Hamilton have won before, and I'm sure they'll win again. I want Webber to get it this season, I think he deserves it more than anyone... and he lives in England so I guess he's the next best thing. I wanted Vettel to crash into Alonso and ruin that greasy spaniard's race with a DNF, then for Vettel to just about crawl home in 2nd/3rd/4th behind Webber and perhaps the 2 McLarens. I'd much rather Massa was the no.1 Ferrari driver than Alonso, and in fact, next season I hope there's another blatant team orders thing, except this time they DQ alonso from the championship meaning Massa is their only championship driver

A lot of women I know have recommended The Hangover. Why? Because it was released at the same time as some girly film (SATC 2?) so when the tickets sold out they all spilled over into the Hangover.[/quote:1s5py0qv] That explains it then
-
Spotted a blue Corrado in Sheffield at Brook Hill (University) Roundabout, you went down Brook Hill/Broad Lane towards West Bar. Must have been about 4pm
-
The Hangover. I'd never seen it before so the missus "made" me watch it, she couldn't actually believe I hadn't seen it before. Absolutely loved it, 8/10, one of the funniest films I've seen in a very long time
-
Departed is one of my favouite films without a doubt. Watched John Q yesterday. 8/10 Really good film. Very few things I could fault in it. Wouldn't want to live in America without healthcare for sure. That's Denzel isn't it? Where his son has kidney/liver/something failure? Remember watching it on a plane to America ages ago and thought it was very good. But like you say, healthcare system in America is a nightmare... we should all be grateful for the NHS! I know of a guy who regularly comes from the US to the UK for treatment of an injury, cos it's cheaper to fly transatlantically and stay here for a week than it is to pay as his health insurance (which already costs a lot) doesn't cover his treatment over there
-
Watched "The Departed" last night 9/10, love Mark Walhberg in it, he's just so funny
-
I think it looks like a remote control car with wheels that are too big... but it looks good
-
Mine don't appear to have any marks like that Ben. Just in the tighter gaps the finish is more orange-peely but nothing I'm bothered about. Definitely put it on the left side of the car, but try not to curb even the bad wheels
-
205/40/17 I think probably... but I'll be putting 215/40/17 on to give a bit more protection for the rim against kerbing
-
Maybe £900-£1100 I'd say. The wheels were £630-ish (I can't remember the exact figure) so dependant on tyres, you're looking at ballpark £1k
-
Oh, thought they were silver and that in the picture you just didn't have any on there. Lots of wheel wax, a good few layers before they go on the car, then regularly rinse the wheels (at least once a week) and then once a month or more wash them with weak washing-up liquid solution, then re-wax them. Me and other ben might be better off as ours are ET30, so there'll be 5mm less of the poking
-
Kev, they look real well on yours buddy. I think doing the centre caps black might be a good call after seeing that last pic you posted
-
- Got the new wheels (Comp MO5s from the group buy)
-
Bet ya can't wait!
-
Yeah my place have standard charges like that too. They're the best balancers around my parts by far, so I don't mind paying them to do a good job tbh. Fair enough if people have mates in the trade though. I haven't :( Make friends :camp: I've never had a mechanic turn down beer in favour of the garage getting paid
-
That's why you chat to one of the guys there and ask him which beer he likes, then bring him a crate after the close and get him to do it for that. Surely theres someone who wants to do it on the side for a bit of cash in his pocket or beer?
-
They're definitely grey. My iphone isn't the best at taking pictures though. I must admit... they are a lot lighter in the pictures than the flesh. That grey in the pictures would be ideal... it's almost like that "computer-generated silver" they have on the website
