  1. if you have to buy a set give kev a shout as he want just a front one. Aye I've seen his thread. Depends how soon he wants it though, as my money is allocated for the next few months :(
  2. bought some Halfords EXTREME BRILLIANCE headlight bulbs :shades: hopefully that'll make things a bit brighter at night, until I can afford to fit HIDs Also my Dimple magnetic sump plug arrived in the post... so will get that fitted next oil change
  3. Wicked, I'll let James know I'm going on the friday when he rings me back. Would it be a good idea to update the first post with those who've paid, so we know who we're waiting on
  4. Not when I've been heel-toe braking one the twisty roads and had to throw in more than 90 degrees opposite lock to counter the rear... it's so light I reckon the only thing keeping the tyres in contact with the ground is the rear seats and spare tyre  I guess I should have progressively pushed the limits instead hehe
  5. After someone skidded on snow/ice through some traffic lights and hit my car, I was driving my dads car a fair bit last winter, which had winter tyres on and they really were amazing... I was able to drive up hills that people couldn't even walk up... and turning onto my road it's a sharpish downhill right turn, and people were going straight on into parked cars or even the wall (behind which is a 10 metre drop)... my dads car could handle it fine, it was about as slippy as summer tyres in the wet, so nothing like as good as in the dry, but as long as you appreciate that, they're better than you could ever expect. And as I'm getting the Comp MO5s too, I think I'll get a cheap set of 17s to put them on, that I don't care whether they get wrecked or not (from salt, and the accidental slide on ice into a kerb etc)
  6. Tempting... especially as the back of my rado gets VERY light when braking hard (as in my mate said the rear tyres were leaving the ground when braking on less-than-smooth country roads)
  7. oh sweet, would like a look at your car :D it takes 2 hours to get there from mine, but i can get there any time really, was probly going to go morning after all the traffic?[/quote:3htcr8tj] Sounds good to me... just looked on Google Maps and it says 2h17 if I take the A53 through the Peak District or just under 2 hours if I take the M1... Now I own a Corrado VR6 so which do you think I'm gonna be taking  I reckon I'll probably set off at 9-10ish, then that means my mate will get his lunch break when I'm there
  8. I think I may just stick the rear on. If I can find just a rear one I'll buy that, otherwise I will try sell the front one. It also helps that a friend works for MotorSportWorld, so he may be able to have a word with one of the companies such as Eibach just to get hold of a rear one
  9. What time you going down roughly? My mate says that he's around then so will go down on 27th
  10. I had a RARB fitted to my corsa and it made the world of difference. Recently sold it to a mate, so went round to his and took it off, and on the way home I nearly crashed... went round a biggish roundabout at 30 and went pretty much straight with the tyres squealing like a piglet Does the front uprated one make much difference, or would fitting just the rear one be more than ok? Any companies that sell just the rear, or do they do them in a kit?
  11. Eibach's the best overall for the road then you reckon?
  12. I'd rather have bought my mates Mk2 VR6 for the £2000 he sold it for, then burnt the other £6500, than spend £8500 on that GTi. And I guarantee my mates was a lot quicker, handled loads better, was a lot tidier, and sounded much better too
  13. fair dos, I wouldn't sell them either
  14. You going to be selling the TH2s then? I have a friend who I think might be interested if you are
  15. Didn't realise the rear track was narrower... I thought nearly all cars had the same track or a wider rear otherwise it starts to ruin handling.
  16. Sometime this month probably... just waiting to hear back from my mate really
  17. I'll get what Comp tell me to get  When I go down I'll ask what can be done and explain what I was thinking of doing, and they can tell me what would be best... as long as the front ones clear the calipers, and the back ones aren't more tucked than the front, then I'm happy
  18. I was thinking that too, would save running spacers on the back too
  19. I am definitely wanting to go, but I'm not sure when I'll be going fella, I'll ask my mate for a few dates when he's free. Mini CF meet @ Compomotive? Yeah I'll make sure I get lots of pictures of each of the finishes
  20. Luke, next time you have the wheels off, would you mind having a look on the inside of them to see if there's a brand stamped on there, thanks :)
  21. I've got one in the garage... a lot of good there I know, but I bought it to put in my old car and didn't... haven't got round to figuring where to put it in the VR. It's a Flamebeater, so possibly smaller in diameter than most handhelds
  22. Ah ok. I'm still definitely in... not sure what offset I'll be after yet, or what colour. I may in fact, if it's possible, take a trip down to Compomotive, as my friend is minutes from there anyway, and pay when I'm there once I can confirm what colour/offset I want after speaking with them
