  1. Recieved the sensors etc this morning. They were £15 ebay special and I am surprisingly pleased with the quality of them. As per usual, its raining outside so not sure if I can be bothered to fit them. Still not sure if I can bring myself to drill the bumper either!! I'll try and sort out some pictures at some point. T.
  2. As above, Anyone ever bought after market parking sensors and fitted them to your car. And no, they wont be going anywhere near the Corrado before you all panic. In a moment of madness I bought a set of ebay last week. Not sure if I really want to fit them to the Bora now. Lots of drilling etc.... Any comments?? T.
  3. Had the, 'nice scirocco', quite a few times. Really annoys me that. Get, 'I always wanted of them' most of the time. And, 'Damn thats in good condition'. Anyone that hasn't got a clue about them, usually falls over in shock when I say its got a 2.9 litre v6 under the bonnet!!!! T.
  4. As of 2006. "Drinking and driving occurs across a wide range of age groups but particularly among young men aged 17-29 in both casualties and positive breath tests following a collision. The Government's most recent drink drive campaigns aims to target this group. " Timo.
  5. stats from 2004. Drink driving 590(p) people were killed in drink-drive related incidents in 2004 2,350(p) were seriously injured There were over 17,000(p) drink-drive casualties in total in 2004 6%(p) of all road casualties and 18%(p) of deaths in 2004 occurred when someone was driving when over the legal limit for alcohol Male drivers under 25 had the highest incidence of failing a breath test after being involved in a road accident in which someone was injured. PLEASE NOTE THE LAST SENTENCE.
  6. sshhhh. I do get cheap insurance, but its still not that cheap and I still complain about the amount I have to pay just like everone else. Totally agree with all your points. I had low cc cars when I was young. I built up my no claims bonus and driving experience and then like you bought a high performance car when I had done that. T.
  7. Right ok. I thought for a bit and.................erm... What I'm trying to say is, young male drivers, statistically speaking are more likely to crash, die, drink drive, speed, crash some more and usually end up killing some other poor sod rather than themselves. That is fact. Yes there are some sensible young male driver out there but not all and it is them that spoils it for the rest of us. Most male road traffic deaths are 19-25 year olds (if my memory serves me well). Surprisingly this age group are high in proportion of the number of male drink drivers caught. I hope you are seeing my point.
  8. :) I'm not sure either mate. I'm half asleep and still suffering from a cold I've had for over a week. Hold on a second while I try and think. I'll get back to you
  9. yup. I remember paying a fortune for insurance. It was scandalous. However I was 21 and driving a group 18 car so it was to be expected. Fortunately due to my age, where I live and my job its considerably cheaper now. Although I wouldn't say it was cheap. We're all in the same situation. T.
  10. That's insurance companies for you....
  11. That true for just about every big company out there. In specific fuel companies. That is the way it is.
  12. Perhaps if young drivers didn't act like complete idiots on the road and crash all the time it might help keep there insurance down. (Not all of them do obviously) How many crashes a year on average does a 17 year old have????? That'll be 1! Hence why young drivers pay more. Insurance companies go by statistics. Young drivers are a liability hence why they pay more.
  13. How much you want for the stage 2 vortech kit?? Dont think you'll have much trouble selling it. T.
