Hello peoples, the saga continues. Got in touch with James from compomotive who seems awesome, he's suggesting ET30 for a 4 stud rado. or 35 with the possibility of a 5mm spacer if need be. But he seems to be leaning towards ET30... So this arvo I fitted a set of old 17x7s ET40 I have laying around, to see how they sit. And I have about an inch clearance from the rim to the strut both front and rear. My thinking is if these rims were ET35 I should have 30mm clearance. Then if they were 8 wide(instead of 7) it'd pull it back to 17-18mm clearance.....if my thinking is correct? And I have yet another question, do you have less clearance to coilovers than standard struts? Is the body of coilover struts considerably or notably bigger than that of standard struts? And do the spring platforms sit anywhere near the tires? Cheers, Carl.

well they only have 17x8s in stock so might be my only option for a while. I might go with them and run 195/40/17s

Cheers guys. I was aware of the difference between the golf and rado ones. Are all rado ones electric? And is there a structure difference between early and late recaros? Aside from the obvious trim. I'm not really want to go period. Maybe a retrim though. ---------- Post added at 1:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 1:00 AM ---------- Ps. Can a mod please change this to the interior section. Seems I have too many questions for the wanted section. My bad.

Thanks guys, did early cars ever come with cloth or leather recaros?
-
thanks for the input guys. You're both in VR6s though so the offset will be different? or same? The car isn't lowered yet..... currently somewhere in the upper stratosphere. I do want to lower it quite a bit, drive it hard with passengers....possible? Definitely wouldn't go larger than 205/40/17s Not sure where to order from yet, most likely will go direct as I'm all the way over here..

Hello All, I have my heart set on a set of 17' compomotive MO5s for my G60 They have 2 sizes available 7.5 and 8 inch both look like the same rim face to me. Will either work/fit? and if so what offset would be ideal? Cheers. Neither Corrados or Compomotive wheels are common in Australia ---------- Post added at 1:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:10 PM ---------- So a little more searching and looks as though a few people are running 17x8s Is this right? I'd still love some advice on which offset for a G60? Cheers.

As the heading says, am after a cloth recaro interior I'm not sure if there is a difference between early and late style interiors but my car is a 92 early. Sorry ultra noob. Show me what you have and are willing to part with? Cheers.

Honestly I haven't had a lot of time to check lately, the joys of working at a toyota production plant I do have a big suspicion it is the foliage cover though, as I saw a few drips coming down off the passenger tray under the glove compartment.

Breaking: 1991 G60 Majority of vehicle available.
ausgolfer replied to Graphite's topic in Cars for Breaking
G'day, Do you have any pics of the interior? And excuse the noob question but are they recaro seats? Cheers. -
Firstly I assume that all the dashes were black? Anywho, What I need early dash wise: 1# All 4 heater vents in GC. OR some sort of repair kit for the sideways direction movement, mine are all broken but the vents are in decent shape otherwise. 2# A cigarette lighter, mine has one tab missing and just won't sit in place. 3# Instrument panel screw covers(both sides), I know this is a long shot. Cheers.

On a related topic, does anyone know if those Jetex pollen filters are still available? Cheers.

Aftermarket Engine ECU what happens to MFA features?
ausgolfer replied to ausgolfer's topic in Engine Bay
Awesome. Thanks guys. -
G'day all, Am considering running an aftermarket engine ECU but want to retain all the standard MFA features. Can this be done without too much hassle?

Hi Guys, Wondering if there is any specific areas that seem to leak water into the passenger footwell.....I just had the windscreen replaced and thought that this would solve all y water leak issues...apparently not. There was a good rain here last night and the passenger footwell is very damp now. I think I may have to strip out the dash to find the source. Any tips or suggestions? Cheers.

Hello all. As the title states am having the issue of my screen not getting wiped...it's a brand new screen with brand new lupo Gti wiper arms/blades. Is there a possibility my wiper mechanism is bent? This was happening with the old screen and blades also. Not 100% keen on bending the brand new lupo arm so that there's more pressure on the blade. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

anyone anyone? Bueller?

Hello all, Wondering if you can crack rear lights open, factory ones or aftermarket ones? Put them in the oven and soften the glue?? Despite lots of advice for the contrary the lure of crystal M3 clears is just too strong for me (I just like the way they modernise the rear), BUT.....I would want to take the lenses off and spray the complete outer body and center horizontal (visible from outside) line with black textured paint.... Cheers in advance.

Hi people. As above would like to get a complete set in as good a condition as possible. Please no offers of just glass or just reflectors. Mine are all stuffed. The catch: seller would have to be willing to post them for me at my expense obviously. Willing to pay top dollar for the right parts. Cheers.

OEM new or VGC late headlights, indicators and fogs wanted
ausgolfer replied to ausgolfer's topic in Suppliers Forum
Anyone else know if they're available through stealers? -
Thanks for the info. What do you mean by full from end swap? All the lights or the bumper as well? Isn't the only exterior difference with the bumper the side swage line?
-
Can I simply fit late style fogs and indicators for the same effect? Or are the mounting points within the bumpers for the lights different on the late and new style bumpers?
-
Hello all. I have an early bumper late bonnet 92 G60 and am considering doing something pretty subtle to the recessed front fogs. What I would like to do is simply space then with some shims to bring them forward for a subtlety more modern look. Would still aim for 5-10mm of recess but less than the ~30mm there is now. Opinions?? :)

I think it was Andre Kains ;) it was blue before brown right? Now does anyone have that article called "big daddy kain"? If so am wanting to know the specs on those 3 piece turbo twists. :)
