  1. I know the gauge on the dash isn't going to be the most accurate, but I've noticed that it tends to register just around the 70 for most of the time until it gets hot in traffic, then it will go up to just over 90, when the fans kick in. That seems too low to me. I'd have expected it to run at about 80 or maybe just over. It's a VR6. What are others like? D
  2. I'm sure I've seen Moonlight Blue bits on ebay recently. Certainly seen a rear bumper, whoever it is might have the rest of the bits.
  3. MFA 1 resets if the vehicle ignition is not switched on for about an hour. MFA 2 doesn't reset until you cover something like 1000 miles. But you can reset either by sliding the switch to the zero either side of the 1 and 2 on the stalk. So MFA 1 can be used per journey, and MFA 2 can be used per tank full for example. Not sre I got the distances and times exactly right, but it's all in the hand book.
  4. Do Corrado owners in Scotland ever meet up? Just mentioned it my wife and got an immediate 24hour pass to do a "Corrado run to the Lochs/mountains/..." Who'd be up for that?
  5. I do 23 miles on my commute. That includes about 17 miles on 50mph restricted motorway and the rest in 'cross town traffic' and by the end of the run I'm at 32mpg. I'm usually at about 22/23 as I start the motorway section. Bizarre thing is if I run at 60-70mph, then I can hit 36. On this basis I'm planning a 100mph run just to hit 50mpg - that last bit's a joke. I usually am hitting 20 within about 3 or 4 miles, but my first reading can be as low as 8mpg.
  6. I'm aiming for once a fortnight and have given it, its first polish. Not ever...since I got it in January
  7. Spotted a Blue C heading north on the M90 about 2pm this afternoon in the road works between junctions 6 and 8. I think it was an N reg. Spotted it too late to flash and so only saw the reg in the mirror. I was heading south in mine
  8. Just wondering what Corrados are here in Scotland. Have spotted a couple on the roads around Glasgow. One passed me on the Clydeside Expressway going into town early one morning. Obviously spotted a few Scottish posts too.
  9. Just reading your OBD2 conversion. Where can I find the Wiki by Nathan? I'm not finding it in the knowledge or regular Wiki. can you post the link? Cheers
  10. Just noticed on the second pic that you don't have plastic strips on you door sill. Did you take these off or never have them? I'm thinking of taking mine off, and am wondering how they are fixed. Can't find any detail in a manual I have, which makes me wonder if some cars didn't have them. Cheers
  11. Looking for Front Fogs - later style. Do you still have them or are they long gone? Cheers
  12. Drove it ....Yeeah to IKEA where it turned into a van to collect this week-end's activity...boooo
  13. Have just bought my first Corrado - '96 VR6 Leather Midnight Blue -  and want to upgrade the headlamp wiring - no surprise there then. Has any one tried either of these that are currently on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-UPRATED-HEADLI ... 154wt_1736 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Mk2-Go ... 3363f0b322 I'd rather buy a kit than build the wiring myself Thanks
  14. Thanks for these suggestions D
  15. Thanks for that I've just had car checked out by the RAC and this was their conclusion. The owner had it rechecked by a garage and they said the leak came from the oil cooler which he's going to get fixed. I was baffled about how the RAC and the garage could have such different conclusions. I'm not sure that the RAC would do 'invasive' checks involving removal of parts... Cheers D
  16. Can you tell if the rear crank oil seal on a VR6 is leaking without splitting the engine and gearbox? Also for the first motion shaft seal, can you tell if that is leaking with out splitting the engine and gearbox? Is there an inspection cover that you can open? Thanks Dalhalvaig
