  1. Did you have to pay import tax or anything like that? - Certainly cheaper than some of the lamps on ebay Cheers D
  2. Are these the ones that were on ebay from the States? D

  4. I'd lost interest 20 mins before the end at £21
  5. Mmm thanks for that - was hoping you'd found a supply... D

  7. Hi - you're selling a n/s fog lamp and say that you replaced the lens on it. Where did you get it? I need an o/s lens for a late fog lamp. Cheers D
  8. That is hilarious. I imagined Rob Bryden saying it.
  9. Spotted a dark (probably blue) C on the A40 about 13.45 yesterday. It was heading towards Gloucester. Can't remember reg but I think it was M or N reg...well that certainly narrows it down doesn't it.

  11. Sorry not today but have just dropped the car off at the garage to get the ABS pump reconditioned. Sticking valve. Have been warned about the £OUCH!!! that will experience soon.
  12. This is a great thread you're really setting a great benchmark. Even my wife is getting how good this is...
  13. When the mapping is done by the car manufacturer, the standard kit is fitted. The way that the air passes out of the the air filter box is compensated for by the map. So on a Corrado the air is passing through a curve as it goes into the MAF, but when you put a can filter on the air is travelling in a straight line as it approaches the MAF. While the same amount of air may go through the sensor, the speed at which the air passing over the actual sensor bits inside will be different, so the Map thinks the airflow is different to actual. You are generally better off putting something like a K&N filter element in the standard filter box than putting a can on. ---------- Post added at 07:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:42 AM ---------- What do other people's temp gauges show when doing some general driving, not high speed motorway or stuck in traffic. Mine shows below 70 a lot of the time.
  14. Will you need to use a different battery compared to the 8V. I would think that the TDi will need something bigger for cranking.
  15. Found this - looks a bit cheap... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2684966.htm
  16. Fitted Lupo wipers and arms today after driver's arm snapped on Wednesday. Need to trim the bumps under the hinge on the passenger arm to get the blade to touch the screen. I didn't do it today so that I'd have something to write here tomorrow. Costs were Arms £42.62 and blades £13.11 and £13.79 all plus vat from a dealer who gave me 20% discount so worked out at about £108. Dealer got the parts next day, by putting it through as a Vehicle Off Road (VOR) for no extra charge. Also gave the C a wash and polish
  17. WBAC offered me 50 for a '97 SAAB 900S with 180,000 miles and no MOT. A local scrappy offered me 150 over the phone without seeing it, came handed cash over and drove off. Didn't want V5 so presumably was really going to scrap it. Much better result.
  18. I got a set of 16" RS771s which are similar for £200 including some virtually new Budget tyres which I am putting on my other car as they're the wrong size for the C. Only one needs much refurb. I spent a few weeks scouring ebay before I found them. I'd do a good search on ebay before making the jump. I'd reckon on there being better buys than that on there. D For example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-BBS-ALLOY-WHEELS-TYRES-FIT-VW-SEAT-LEON-AUDI-/300542331602?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item45f9b80ad2#ht_720wt_1139 here's a full list http://motors-parts.shop.ebay.co.uk/Wheels-with-Tyres-/9888/i.html?Rim%2520Diameter%2520%2528inches%2529=16|17&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A4%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A4341&rt=nc&_nkw=vw+bbs+alloy&_catref=1&_dmpt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&_ipg=200&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=1&_sc=1
  19. Just ordered a set of Lupo wipers and I do know why...Drivers wiper arm broke last night in the cast aluminium bit between the hinge and the nut. Phoned the dealer and the part is obsolete - time for the conversion. So what I did today was swap the passenger arm to the driver side
  20. Saw Green Storm on Speedlines parked in Anniesland in Glasgow - lowered N***AKM. Went round the block a second time for a better look
  21. They were limited to 155mph - but that was all they could do. You see if you read in the brochure that it's 'limited to 155', then you think "that's a responsible manufacturer and the car can clearly do more". But actually it can't.
  22. I can see this will become a regular read and I'm there with lilfuzzer on the daily and weekender...can you believe I was about to start a thread the other day asking if anyone had done a TDI C
  23. Worked on these when I was at Nissan. Conclusion was that against a TT, RX8, MB350SLK, Z4, Boxster only the Boxster was in the same league from performance and handling point of view. Ride was better in the Boxster. 350Z convertibles had better ride than coupes. Great performance feel, great noise, unfortunately bad road noise from rear. Boot space not great. Need to watch when buying as to whether or not it's UK spec. Lots of grey Japan spec cars here. No quality problems with them, just might not be the spec you expect such as wheel type, spring and damper rates are Europe unique. If a Japan spec car has been converted to Euro spec you also have a car that someone else has had in bits before you even get your grubby mits on it. This is stuff like bumpers to get correct space for number plate, adding rear fog lamp, speedo in mph/kph....Eventually the Euro spec suspension was used globally. Definitely a nice drive and soooo cheap compared to a Boxster second hand.
  24. Getting something out of the passenger side of the car this morning noticed the handle was off the seat height adjust. Slid it back on to find it was still loose. Then spotted 2 screws lying on the carpet - like they'd been dismantled. Bizarre. Will put back on tomorrow morning. Spent some of the weekend building the C a new home (aka clearing the garage) and trying to get ahead of the rust spots.
  25. Speedfest could be sweet, but might be a stretch as I'm planning doing Le Mans the following weekend. Looks like it's the 5th of June. Certainly up for making the run to the Cairngorms or Grampians area.
