  1. time to speak....i have a milltek! John asked for us Milltek buyers to speak up...so up i will speak :) Looks, i have the milltek and my good friend has the magnex.. the tail pipes on both cars are the same size but the magnex is slightly slashed back so even though the tail pipe points up slightly when poking under the bumper, the face of the exhaust is still vertical. The milltek is just a straight 90 degree cut so IMO doesnt look quite as good...but its not too bad. Noise, both sounded the same IMO. When i buy an aftermarket exhaust i wouldnt want it to be whisper OE quiet... whats the point?? if you want that get an OE one??!...but their by no means loud. as has been said..nice burble in idle, failry silent at motorway speed etc etc.. i hear the scoprion or other systems are much louder! Value, JMR do a cracking price at present although i think he is revising the price structure?? But the Milltek was cheaper than the magnex.. best i found the magnex was a shade under £300 plus P&P Quality, i saw the Milltek before fitting, and its been well made and is certainly at least 1/3 lighter than OE. I havent seen the Magnex off the car but i understand it too is light and well built Fitting, I dont hear magnex owners complaining of any knocking and i have to say the magnex on my friends doesnt knock..even though it is lowered....Does the Milltek knock??? YES!! Is mine the only Milltek that knocks?? NO!! The knocking occurs on the rear axle beam... both myself and another person both found this independantly of each other and i know of one other with the problem making 3 and that was all found out in about 2 days!! ...who knows how many others have the problem??? It is down to a very small design fault...BUT!!! here is Millteks saving grace!!! they have fantastic customer service! They have already fixed the other persons knocking and are about to fix mine.... and hopefull take the opportunity to redesign their system!! I am not going to swap my milltek because im happy with it and happy with the excellent service i have received and i happy with the value!!! Milltek need to work on a couple of aspects of the system and then it gets my 100% thumbs up! I feel i have been fair with this write up and have not bad mouthed anyone or any product my vote still goes to milltek
  2. put his name and number up on the forum, do you have his address? im sure someone will go and pay him a vist / set fire to his house :D
  3. is the handling different then?
  4. i have to say..im not a fan of forced induction. especially having been in kevs car and feeling exactly what some nice tuning can do for the NA car. Get the essentials done..timing chains, tappets, etc..then 268 schrick cams, schrick VGI, re chip and then spend on a 6 speed box and the LSD if you want... thats what i would do.
  5. nice...is that some kind of roll cage in the back though?
  6. this should help http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... l+breather
  7. thats an oil breather valve. £50 from vw £20 from ford i'll get you the part number
  8. fields and fields or barley....well its been combined already now but its a nice backdrop....car park is the other side of the building so no car viewing today
  9. Mike Edwards, what did you mean by the steering comment? kevhaywire, you mean it may need all the bowden cables resetting....hmm fun fun fun fun fun
  10. just wondered if it was anything i needed to be concerned about
  11. the intake is on the left hand side of the bonnet...right at the top where it meets the screen... oh and i have got A/C...just need to fix it and get it working
  12. Is this a problem i should worry about. even when the heat dial is turned to cold....it doesnt really blow cold..it still feels kind warm... i know if the matrix is going / gone then it doesnt get hot...but is this another symptom? cheers
  13. dazzyvr6, if your happy with them.....great Im just speaking from my personal experience of not being able to stop when using greenstuff pads.... so what if pagids create dust.......i normally wash my car once a week anyway so its no big deal visible dust = brakes working well no dust = hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm not sure but in my case = no brakes
  14. great.....so when your crashed into the back of that car cause you didnt stop fast enough at least you can get out and see that your wheels are nice and clean  sorry....im a big hater of ebc pads....may aswell stick a few ice cubes in instead IMO!
  15. well i have completely black front wheels and i washed the car last weekend..
  16. pagid Fast Road pads bit the VW discs very well
  17. the geometry settings should always be put back to the factory settings no matter what suspension you have fitted. best take it to a body shop as they have proper 'floating' 4 wheel alignment pads which are better than how a normal tyre fitter would do it by looking at the wheel at a funny angle while swiggin cups of tea, scratching arse and saying 'yeah it looks about right' Just in my experience. Cost me about £70 at a bodyshop VW is about £90 IIRC
  18. he said he would be happy to supply them but i dont think a cheaper price was on the cards....although saying that it is a pretty good price anyway
  19. front engine mount was easy to change!!! heck...even I did it myself  I have to say....the VT mount causes absolutely no noticable extra vibration and i have it on good authority from John at JMR and a few of the customers he has suplied the mounts to that his Solid mounts cause minimal extra vibration aswell. Also...When i was asking John about engine mounts for my car he offered to fit his own solid mount to my car...and at he knew mine was a vr6 so i assume he has the vr6 ones available aswell
  20. how much was the rear eibach ARB?? after riding in kevs car at the weekend i definately want some kind of ARB and if the Eibach and Nuespeed are similar i'll just be after the cheapest!
  21. mine did that! i took them off...put silicon sealant on the part where they clip on...when the silicone dried ...no more rattles
