  1. ok just to update this so everyone knows the score... aparently the change was in 1994 on the corrado front suspension and most spring suppliers only provide for the pre 1994 cars. part number for the larger spring plate is 1H0 412 341 and is about £10
  2. ah ok, i see the pricipal now, basicly i have to hold the inside of the strut still so it doesnt twist. dad has thousands of tools, bound to have something that fits. so after undoing the top nut does the strut and sring come off in one and THEN i put the spring clamp on.... cheers
  3. anyone? ive got friday booked off work to do this now
  4. no its a celeron laptop, but it didnt work on my work pc either, which is P4 i think
  5. ok im still in process of finding out which are the correct spring seats...but in the mean time.. see attached pic from bently CD do i need a special tool to get this apart??
  6. just tried this, works a treat now!! 8)
  7. hmm, now the pics have gone :?
  8. whoops double post, no doubt some helpfull mod will be along to fix it soon that looks bloody marvolous as you say!!! only 60k!! i wish i could keep mine in a garage, be worth a fortune in later years are those the standard Storm mats aswell??
  9. sorry, not enough interest second time round so im closing this now. keep your eyes peeled for the millteck group buy though (if we ever get a price on that??)
  10. the tapet cleaner stuff wont thicken the oil, just clean all the components. probably woeth running it for another week and then doing an oil change so all the crap doesnt just clog it back up again. put another tin in with the fresh oil and bobs your uncle.
  11. the noise is pretty standard to be honest, not too loud at idle but gives a nice note mid revs.
  12. For all those budding photographers out there.... whats your favorite pic? lets keep it to your current car or one you have owned recently. 1 or 2 pics only. look forward to seeing them. Mine are. Mod edit pics thumbnailed-vr6storm havent taken any of the C that i really like so far. :(
  13. not sure about spots and stuff....koni would put spots on theirs would they? maybe measure the open gap though??
  14. cheers Kev, your knowledge is a constant reassurement. would vince mind me calling him just to ask a part number though?
  15. got a part number for the larger one? and do you know the actual dimensions? is it as easy as measuring the spring to know if it will fit? i guess my 95 vr will have the smaller plates then? i did tell the suplier that i have a 95 car so hopefully they did the right springs?
  16. well id like to point out that i didnt listen to it myself....that was his description of the noise to me over the phone :?
  17. do you want to buy my old ipaq then....do you a special price... £1000 instead of £1500 ....bargin  back on topic.... i would love nothing more than to reach far into my pockets and buy one as, that is a massive saving..group buys usually only save 10% or so but this is well over 33% (lucazade addvert flash backs :? ) its just that is a GRAND...quite alot really if you werent expecting to spend that much in rainy old february :(
  18. this buy was for the small oval, from what i gathered and from the ppl i asked, this was the one to go for.....unless your into max power style baked bean tin exhausts  (sorry nasty comment, but im not retracting it  ) doesnt look many takers so i will probably be closing this soon
  19. just thought i would update this so if anyone is doing a search on a similar subject...they know what the result was, John took his car to cowley rd garage (VW specialists) in cambridge and they took it for a drive. It was a near side wheel bearing. car now runs like new again. cheers
  20. very nice!! i love the black leather, sometimes more than the beige leather i have....mine just shows up all the dirt :( so what is the drop? what springs / shocks etc?
  21. this is from the golfvr6 site regarding the 'will it fit' question
  22. cheers dr_mat, unfortunately my hidden funds are not ear marked for the corrado! bare in mind though that your buying a bolt on product...you can always put it on you current car and then swap it to another car in the future...or sell it...etc.
  23. £1000 is out of the question for me at the moment :( but i have a few questions incase i buy one later (all be it at the full price :( ) You have to take this thing off every time to change the spark plugs? if its more air and fuel....will this completely wreck the MPG? if i do need an oil cooler as a result, can the cooler be fitted anywhere else but infront of the radiator ( i have the extra aircon rad there so no room for an oil cooler)
