sorry, that would be my fault

thats a question i asked a while back but no one knew the answer! i guess i should have checked the mileage properly aswell. at 60mph its hard to see if there is any difference in the speedo...at 70 its more noticeable infatcits near on 10% all the way up to about 120mph indicated.
-
you pay £2000 for a 1.8! ouch. i have a few things going for me i guess. 3 years NCB, live in Cambridge (one of the lowest insurance areas), civil servant etc etc
-
i think its about £1200 fully comp
-
wierd..i didnt do anything special.. just phoned adrian flux and told them i had already bought the car and i didnt want to be fobbed off with a crap quote. i did have 3 years NCB though which helped i guess
-
yeah but you only drive the 1.8 (not that im knocking your car....all C's are great).. you try being 20 and driving a vr6 8) oh nice car BTW :D

i've been after one for ages....(mine was missing when i got the car) various ppl on here (no names mentioned  ) have said they would keep their eyes peeled for one at a scrappy or at stealth but i am still coverless :( -
just been on a round trip to guildford (31mpg 8) ) anyway.... speedo reading 100mph, satnav bang on 90mph. theres your 10% difference. that was as fast as i could go though...traffic and speed camera warnings scuppered any other efforts

whats the best finish to get a standard look on the solitudes?? just the standard silver? or the hipower silver?
-
ooohh, just checked the price again...now down to £369....go on you know you want to
-
well kevs shocks are actually set 5 mm higher plus his springs lower by 5mm less than mine....so in theroy his should be a whole 1 cm higer i think??!! i will get round to taking the rears apart soon and setting them to the lowest level which should drop mine another 1cm at the rear.
-
well IMO there great. not as hard as i was expecting actually. i heard alot of horror stories about the koni's being too hard and that i should have got the H&R but after having them on for about 3 weeks im really happy and they are not that hard after all. Kevhaywire drove it aswell and as he said...there not much harder than his H&R springs Im still not quite happy about the ride height at the rear.. The springs are suposed to be 40mm lowerering springs and i set the rear shock on the middle setting (there are 5 height settings but you have to dismantle the shock to adjust it) but it is still sitting higer than the front infact its probably higher than kev's and his are only 30mm springs and he tells me his are on the one above the middle??? :?
-
ha ha, you mean just struts and no springs :D
-
oh you must have got them really cheap then and your hoping to make a profit
-
hurrah...another person swapping to solitudes :D , hope you got them for a good price in that condition. i bought mine from ebay but with brand new michelin pilots so it worked out that the wheels were pretty much free (i needed new tyres anyway) gonna get mine referbed soon though as there a bit tatty....will be interested in hearing how bad a wheel has to be before it cannot be referbed...
-
the larkspeed set was £380 for the springs and shocks inc VAT
-
do you mean the Top Adtustable ones? i have these with the matching koni springs on my VR6 and it feels great
-
its probably been answered.... basicly the tcut does what it says on the tin....CUTS, its takes the outer layer of 'hazey' lacquer off the car... but, as has already been said, dont do it too often or you will simply cut all the lacquer away and then your fudged!!! The best result i have seen is using a colour specific t-cut and then a colour specific wax or similar afterwards.. the wax will ensure it stays nice and shiney for longer

Can caster be adjusted on the r/h wheel??
jedi-knight83 replied to Nick_Micouris's topic in Suppliers Forum
ah, that makes sense. so if the right wheel has a greater castor angle than the left....which way will the steering tug? -
Can caster be adjusted on the r/h wheel??
jedi-knight83 replied to Nick_Micouris's topic in Suppliers Forum
from what i understand and the basic research i have done...it wont pull to one side on a perfectly flat road...its only when the wheel is turned one way or the other that the difference will be noticed but the difference of a fe degrees wont be that noticeable to be honest. -

hi, i recently had my camber / castor set up and mine is out aswell although the tracking and the camber are pretty much spot on. the castor changes when the other things are set but it cannot be changed by itself....only by moving the camber and tracking (and then those will be out) From what i can tell by a little research and driving...the castor is not so important...as long as the tracking and camber are spot on you wont feel that the castor is different. -
did you get the dent sorted?
-
never heard about those but maybe they were a bit of an experiment as i understand the flagship golf MK5 will be deisel driven

anyone got a pic of a rado with RS4 wheels ?
jedi-knight83 replied to bazgreener's topic in Engine Bay
i think there actually rs6 replicas as they are not as 'dish' like as the rs4 wheel. im sure you know....but rs4 wheels wont actually fit...the audi tt versions will though.
