  1. i recentley brought this one, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170892522027 made by hella, perfect fit no problems, but someone did link me to a hella rad from a company that was going for £115!
  2. as above , anything is possible aslong as you know what to do, i think its a good idea and would like to see it done but its a big gamble if you cannot make it work,
  3. my new none aircon belt for my 24v is the same, only ribbed one side..
  4. yo, basiclay i got the bumper indicator bulb holder , removed the high beam bulb stuff completly from in the head lamp, then cut out the perfect size hole for the indicator bulb holder to fit where the high beam bulb was, i made it a tight fit by useing a file and takeing only what i needed off, i then used glued afterwards to be on the safe side, now the indicator wireing runs inside the head lamp at the back and pops out a hole i drilled with a rubber grommit, and then plugs into the same plug as the indicator did before. i still have a high beam btw i have also replaced the amber bulbs for clear ish ones but go amber when lit up..
  5. undo them with the belt on and tensioned or if the belt slips use vag hags method which is the same as mine lol
  6. looking good dude, damn that sux about the rack, what happened? you just all of a sudden lost the power steering? im guessing you had to force the down pipe down towards the rack slighly for it to line up with the flanges? cause otherwise your DP is stock..
  7. lol im way past that stage, i had it off the roads for like 4 months while i was doing bodywork and missed drivieng it like mad! but once i drove it and got it out my system it was back to normal and now im not bothered about takeing it off the roads to work on it for a month or two, i just enjoy owning it, its in my shed and nobody can take that away,
  8. good blady job sir!, with the box off the engine ,how hard were the chains and guides to replace?
  9. need that damn rad to turn up so i can get the front end back on, cant wait!!!
  10. i couldnt find a rhd gauge surround so i made my own out of metal plate {from mk2 golf bonnet :) }useing a template from the old cassette holder, then trimmed the plate in faux black leather and used strips of adhesive velcro around the inside where it wants to be , love the finished artical! easy to wire up aswell, i took the ign live from an un used D plug wire,
  11. here you go, genuine bbs vr6 alloys http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-15-GENUINE-BBS-ALLOY-WHEELS-205-50-TYRES-5X100-GOLF-ETC-/280937499181?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item41692e0a2d
  12. yea you can get 16 steels in 5x100 :)
  13. swict had nothing to do with mine, Rubjonny from other VW forums was originaly gona do my loom but didnt realise how buisy he was and couldnt do it for atleast 3 months so i got another guy to do it thats friend of a friend but took just aslong as what john would of taken :( he prety much did most of it correctly apart from 2 wires which wernt hooked up, also had to re arrange the whole thing but thats to be expected seeing as my car wasnt there. if any one wants a moded loom give rub jonny a shout he knows his stuff! and doesnt charge the earth for what he does. http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?234432-Rubtechwerke-wiring-services! what have you guys done about declareing an engine conversion? , seeing as its still a 2.8 Vr6 engine iv put in , just change the engine number and inform my insurers its running an extra 10 horses?
  14. ah c'mon! you got to give me more then that!! ...
  15. looking good dude, damn your lucky to have it fired up with no wireing problems,i think my wireing problems took a year or 2 off my life!! . so the first part of your loom you got going through the accelerator pedal hole? , i was going to use that for something but didnt bother in the end, come to think of it theres nothing stopping anyone from makeing that hole bigger either..
  16. i just cut my grommits down the middle, i used a hole saw that was prety much the right size to drill the hole in the scuttle,
  17. oh wow, that is bad, cant belive it has 2 bids at over £7k! , judgeing by the complete lack of effort to sort the wheels out you just know the rest is goin to suck balls especialy the interior! , and who the hell would build a ferrari over a pug anyway!!
  18. damn unlucky m8, if i was you i would just bypass it for a week or 2 and enjoy your car for abit, otherwise all this work in one go might just p155 you off ,
  19. good news dude, much more left to do ? , so tell me , honestley whats it like to drive? im itching to find out but got another week of niggly bits to sort out + waiting on a new rad to arrive :(
  20. here you go bud, work in progess, Anyone if theres a skrew bracket {part number?}for these diagnostic ports? like this one, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD-Diagnostics-Port-Wiring-Plug-Pigtail-99-5-05-VW-Jetta-Golf-MK4-Genuine-OE-/280860205443?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416492a183
  21. not realy only got them 3 about the lambda probes and maf, then after that i replaced ecu relay 109 for a 32 as i was told before hand soemthing about an earth trigger for fuel pump which might be the cause of the no fuel but that only threw up an ecu realy malfunction code, so in all only 3 logged faults because of maf and lambda wire not connected, but now its connected no faults, im hopeing once its driven it will stay that way..
  22. yea got my ecu faceing to the front aswell, drilled a new hole in the scuttle tray to accomodate the otherr ecu plug, so no real pressure on any plugs/wires and its looking rather good.. didnt realise about the lambda sensors needing to be on a certain side but it makes sense , cant remember which side my brown plug is on but im getting no faults so im assumeing everythings ok , ill take a look and let you guys know which side its on for referance..
  23. cheers dude, more like Tea,money & time though ;) thoroughly enjoying it though and an awesome learning experiance its been so far , i got this office chair in the shed and i some times just sit there looking at the car just thinking to myself wow! i did that! . prety good feeling, .. got a little vid of it running but im not to happy with posting it up as its crap! i will get a decent one though when the cooling system is filled properly and ran up to temp for some happy reving :) in the mean time heres the gauges in action , hope you like , becasue i do!!
