  1. oh forgot to add, i remember seeing an over heating issue once, it turned out the header tank cap needed replaceing, may or may not be your problem though..
  2. ah right , thats neat, yea little things like that make all the difference, that reminds me, my rev counter works aswell :) well thats good to know about the 3.2 wireing , shame the 3.2's are out of my price range but theres allways next year , i'll try and get a video up for tonight , hopefully the neighbours wont be there when i get there...
  3. cheers guys, yea knowing its running sweet is a massive weight off my shoulders, but atleast with the problems i had with the loom made me get involved with electrics and that was a dark area for me before. R32 wireing mods any different apart from the rev counter ? :)
  4. yo, dont worry and dont get p1553d off with it, every used car of this age will have its problems, aslong as your willing to get involved you can fix them at minimal cost with your time, just think how good its gona be once its sorted! have a good look through this, http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38925-The-definitive-VR6-cooling-guide, first thing i would check is the bottom rad hose that still cold when its up to temp ? if so your thermostat will be stuck closed blocking the water flow through the rad, the thermostat should open up at around 80 degrees so make sure your car is at 85 before you check the bottom rad hose, if your thermostat needs replaceing you might have to remove the front end to gain access, its an easy job though so dont be put off by it.
  5. hahaha brilliant!! , yea i remember seeing that thread, didnt realise you changed his name tho :)
  6. good work buddy, deffo a brave man taking on a 2nd corrado , £330 is an absolute bargain! kinda hard to say No at that price , good to see them being fixed up rather then broken up
  7. good job!, is it back up and running yet?
  8. LOL WTF happend?, VR6 changed your name from EJ TATLOR to baconator because you lied about bacon? hahaha
  9. damn! i brought one from tame side radiators on ebay, £150 inc p&p ! not far off but if i would known about that place i would of gotten the same one as you,
  10. hehe you didnt remove the front end did ya? good job though, just brought a new rad for mine actualy , where did you get yours from?
  11. got mine working properly today!! so stoked! although i need to buy a new rad, so the inital maf +lambda fault was a wire which wasnt connected to anything, after that it still didnt run right, found the temp sensor to be reading 80 degress! so checked the wireing which was ok and changed the sender which was at fault still not running right, then skool boy error! vac leak from the brake servo because the master cylinder wasnt bolted up! realy didnt know it needed to be bolted up to seal the vac! , it runs sweet as a nut and no faults on ECU , re done the throttle pedal arm to suit the lower position so chuffed right now! :) finished off my vdo gauges aswell, ready to go in, trimmed in faux black leather.. i used the old tape cassette holder as a template and then cut that of sheet metal, gona stick it inplace with sticky velcro strips, got all my wireing there ready for it aswell,
  12. my m8 who works at the parts counter at a vw dealership seems to have had no problems ordering them for me just waiting on them to arrive , so idd say there not obsolete but i'll let you guys know when there in my hands..
  13. the fan is electricly driven by its own motor so it shouldnt affect the engines revs at all , the only thing that i can think of that would affect the revs is the aircon compressor as thats driven off the AUX belt and would affect the revs , edit: only just saw your sentence about drawing more power when fans on, not sure but all i can say is when my fan comes on theres never any change in engine revs at idle, its allways below 1000,
  14. it could very well be as that sensor does control the temp gauge and the fan control unit, i replaced mine by swaping them over realy quick, obviously lost a small amount of coolant but nothing major mine was none AC though, just dont forget to pull the old O ring out aswell. edit: still trying to think why the revs would drop though? i could imagine the revs dropping if the AC compressor comes on but why would it make a difference if the fans come on? strange, but you brought the sensor so idd get that swapped over first and try it.
  15. lol iv recentley orderd 10 from vw, apparently they cost pence! so i dont mind passing them on at extra cost hehe, part number N 906 437 01
  16. it could very well be for sai,it goes directley below the FPR but doesnt look like its connected to that, not sure if i should leave it out or not? ,still trying to sort another possible wireing issue, which could be lambda +maf related or could very well be a dodgey maf or dodgey lambda, arghhh.. have you checked the pins on the plug for the pedal? , my plugs actualy broke but still holds the wires..
  17. good news, glad it worked out for you,
  18. never removed a front mount so cant say, but look underneith it , maybe another bolt? as for the spring clips, i use plumbers water pump pliers, but my m8 has the best tool for them, hes got long nose pliers with the noses tweaked in at an angle, so it grips them clips an absolute treat! there probabaly is a special vw tool out there,
  19. yo! thought i recognised that seafront! , im from guernsey :) well tbh your cars only worth what someone is willing to pay, i would say 2k to 2.5k is a safe asking price localy, everyone from the uk loves a low mileage car, so you might get better luck on ebay auction, but you got the MOT issue to sort out,
  20. Which pedal you got? i used a plate that bolts to the two bottom studs from the brake servo, but the pedal arm needed major surgery to work in this position , but imo was the best position for the pedal i got, still ironing out some running issues at the mo, this vac pipe, its prety obvious that it goes into the intake pipe after the maf , as the connection on the inlet pipe is right there for it, but is there anything missing? like a valve or anything? and what is this vac pipe from? cheers edit: just found out this is from the air shroud for the injectors,
  21. can anyone tell me if these faults are wireing related ? this is from a 2001 BDE 2.8 from a 4motion into a corrado, immisions stuff should have been removed so im not sure if these lambda faults are important or not. my car cant idle to save its life! so im guessing its down to the maf fault, 17523 oxygen sensor heating : B1 S1 : short to ground p1115-002- lower limit exceeded 17527 O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank2-Sensor1 Short to Ground 16486 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input yea there wireing related !! arghh!!!
  22. yea there was an open end on the tube from the oil breather pipe to the inlet pipe , not sure if that was the cause or not,but iv now plugged it up, well find out soon though :) yea i think most of it could be down to the throttle body re learning its position? also anybody know what that vacum pipe is for that comes out from under the fuel pressure regulator that goes into the inlet pipe just after the maf? yea it did sound nice , i couldnt rev it though because of the neighbours :( soon though ;) well hopefully found the casue for the lambda and maf fault! and the engines poor running!, NO live to MAF and Lambdas! followed the yellow and blue wire back to here ! so hopefully once this is wired up my car should be running 100% :)
