  1. just look across the panels at an angle or as many angles as possible and make sure the car is dry , imperfections will show themselves, ,im only a diy painter so im not 100% qualified to comment but im going to anyway! lol , imo the corrado would be a tough car to repair at a fair price, the reason being is theres no shut off lines or individual panels on the shell, so you cant just spray the roof or just spray the rear quarter without having a blend line in the clear coat somewhere unless you clear the whole shell {which would almost be a full respray and your be paying for it}, i.e if you look at the roof your see the roof moulding finishing 2inchs before it hits the windscreen and because of that gap the clearcoat has to then go into the pillar and then links to the rear quarter, so the weakest part of your repair will be where they blend the clearcoat into your existing clearcoat, hope you under stand what i mean? the only place i have found that you can hide a blend line is here , take a look on your corrado to see, you never know you may even see a faint line in the clear from a previous repair, i dont have any blend lines as i did my whole shell in one go, im sure yours will look awesome when it gets back,
  2. iv already done my manifold, just imagine it in your colour ;)
  3. looking good bud, did the engine only hit with the cover on? personaly think it looks better with no cover and with the manifold painted, still got this conversion to look forward to when my loom finnaly gets sorted out, are you doing the electrics? keep it up!
  4. need to get the remote central locking kit wired up, and its ready to rock!!! should realy get a little bit more creative with photography ,
  5. i like the side exit! but would of deffinalty had the bumper cut out smoothed rather then maken up a fake exhaust + its extra weight ,
  6. i would say sunroof drians are blocked but as you say you have checked them, hows about before you drive the car after a heavy down pour , just open the sunroof and from out side look at the drain tray to see if water has collected and not drained away?
  7. you need to identify where this leak is , if its a big leak then there should be signs of it under the car , i.e dripping!! so putting cardboard under the car might help , follow all the hose thats related to the cooling system, starting at the expansion tank, use paper tissue/towel around joints etc to see if it soaks up any moisture from the leak, maybe replace your expansion tank and cap as there cheap parts anyway.
  8. good idea hope it works out for you, shame with my car nothings ever straight forward , allways takes 5x's longer then what it should , glad i have a shed ;)
  9. heres a tip for anybody playing with there door handles and locks, once you have flaffed about doing whatever it is your doing to the handles, you can check that all the mechanisms work as they should before you even close the door by operating the door latch by hand, {the bit the striker pin hits and rotates to keep the door closed } once you have done that you can try locking the car and basiclay test out if it opens from inside/outside, if all works ok the latch will spring open the same as if the door was actualy closed ;) might save someone a ball ache and a door card ---------- Post added at 10:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ---------- mine did that for awhile, cant remember how i fixed it, try undooing the pin a little , failing that try it without the door card fitted,
  10. your have better luck selling this on ebay.com or the corrado section on vw vortex as majority of this forum is from the uk,
  11. yea like fishwick said above the inner track rod has a ball joint on the end , so its not just a straight peice of metal, i replaced one of my track rod ends months ago , i forget the brand but it was a cheapy , but the boot split a few weeks later so its not ideal, im sure theres cheaper brands out there which would hold up fine though, i was planning on replaceing both track rods/ends and ball joints from vw before haveing wheel alignment , but seeing the price above im not going to now!
  12. ha yea theres something not quite right with that sunroof, i realy like what you have done with the inter cooler/bumper, looks sweet.
  13. its not exactly a guide but alot of the info you need to know is in here, theres loads of different ways to go about this conversion, some people will do it diferentley to others so have a good read and then ask questions, as the questions your asking now are all in there, good luck http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?20610-Definitive-24v-into-a-(VR)-Corrado-thread
  14. as far as i know that seal isnt meant to be glued in, its just a tight press fit seal, if the top of the seal isnt a tight fit its more then likely down to the screen needing to be a mm or 2 higher in the channel which would make the top and the corners a tighter fit, edit- might be worth trying a new seal if that seal has been removed a few times before , there still available from dealers
  15. not the best photos, had a spare set of lights given by a m8 in return that i do his others smoked, so decided to do these all red, might swap them out for mine!, still need to wetsand some dust nibs which arent visible in pic, tint spray followed by 2k clearcoat,
  16. i realy like that smoothed spoiler think it looks sweet!!!! any pics on this being done?
  17. sounds like you got it just in time, i'll deffo check it out, cheers for the heads up.. ---------- Post added at 8:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:48 PM ---------- yea true , i should of said in my situation with only doing slow moveing 3 point turns, wouldnt of thought the bearings would be under any more pressure on full lock or straight at walking pace
  18. with it half open if you look down into it from the outside you might be able to see into the runners and see whats going on . if it sounds like somethings rubbing on paint then i wouldnt open it anymore as it could be damageing the paint on top of it , i dont know of any quick fixs for it as luckily iv never had sunroof problems but if you want to drop the whole thing down and out its not that difficult, you just need to remove the interior parts on the headliner and then remove the headliner, unplug the motor from the switch, pull off the drain pipes { 1 in each corner} then undo the bolts holding the sunroof to the roof, its prety self explanatory, hopefully someone thats had this issue will post up a cure, if not you could also post this problem up in the interior/ exterior section of the forum, it will get more attention
  19. lmao! must of been a sight for sore eyes! luckily it happend when it did and nobody got a sunroof through there windscreen. death by sunroof isnt a good way to go..
  20. my car needs wheel alignment but it feels fine in the corners, i dont think the problem to your question is wheel alignment but worth getting done,
  21. the best mod on my vr6 was a milltek decat exhaust, completley changed the car! made it more smooth and tightend up the throttle response, also the mk4 golf rear calipers! easy to do and very cheap!.. although now for me personaly , its audi door handles , you look down the side of the corrado and it just looks so right!!!! why didnt the corrado come with them in the first place!
  22. havent ordered anything yet, but think i will now :) for some reason i thought it was £112.00 as its highlighted blue, also at the bottom it says total £153.00 cheers
  23. damn, i got the part number off of etka then gave it to my m8 who works at the dealers in the parts dept, this is what i got back , total £153.00 unless hes made a mistake? im assumeing its number 2 as thats what its priced at, just realised hes priced me for two parts! theres only one part to this seal/trim!! must be the wrong one! ARGHHHHH!!!
  24. just sent you a pm with some picys!! good work tim! so you now have 2 corrados? as if one wasnt enough ;)
  25. i highly dought its my wheel bearings, i did those less then 800miles ago, and my car rolls smooth as is it should, also the wheel bearings arent under any more pressure on full lock then they are normaly, my bet is cv as thats realy the only think getting put to its limit on full lock,
