  1. Hello,my drivers door has about 1/4" up & down play in it, i have the correct replacement pins, just want to know if theres any special tools or methods that you guys use to replace them?. idealy i want top press them out useing a G-clamp of some sort and abit of small pipe over the pin but space is limited. thanks..
  2. cheers m8, its made my week!! words couldnt describe how pleased i was when it all bolted up :) now on to the next problem! Door pins! lol
  3. whooo! very happy to say that after roughly 6hours of blood sweat and tears and a mild hangover the rad0 lives on!! wasnt easy though! at one point i almost gave up, drilled out to the remaining stud to remove the wishbone and then drilled out the rest and tapped a thread, only problem i had was the new hole i drilled wasnt 100% inline with the old one so when it came to put the bolt through it wasnt inline but abit of precision hammering and it went in and tightened down good! thanks again matt for your post without that i may well have taken a different approach...if anybody has this problem make sure you use good quality drill bits, and have a blady good go! you cant make it any worse..
  4. i went with mk4 rear calipers, what a difference!!, the mk4 caliper carriers didnt fit on mine though but the calipers bolted straight on my corrado carriers so happy days!!! and as mentioned above youl need conversion hoses
  5. :) yea it does!! check this out, also look at the others, ROCKET =====>
  6. since buying my corrado ive learnt buy cheap buy twice, you pay for what you get, if it aint broke dont fix it!,lol its kinda true tho, i brought replacemant wishbones with audi tt/r32 bushs, replaced the drivers side along with new ball joints and disc, all went ok,then the other day i had a bash at the passenger side {should be easier as the engine sump isnt in the way of the wishbone bolt} and the wishbone bolt snapped in half!!! so i now have to either drill the remaining bolt out or get another sub frame :( bareing in mind that i dont have a permanant place to work on my car,
  7. hi and welcome, corrados are blindingly fun! they also look sick aswel! you wont regret it! but as with all second hand cars some will come with problems, just remember you pay for what you get! in the long run it might be worth while spending abit more on one thats been looked after, unless you got garage space and your looking for a long term project.
  8. fair play m8, i brought a a cheapy a few months back, looking back i would of rather paid abit more for one thats in better condition but at the time i realy wanted one and i couldnt afford paying much more, got loads of little bits to sort out. if your playing with the chains you should invest in this cam locking tool,http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VR6-Camshaft-Alignment-Engine-Repair-3268-Cam-Tool-VW-/170620273753?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b9c2c459
  9. cheers, ive been quoted £75.00 for a corrado vr6 subframe posted off ebay which i think is blady good! but i'll have a good go at drilling first seeing as it cant get much worse,
  10. thanks for the heads up miki, yea james i was thinking i was going to have to get a new subframe aswell untill what matt has said above, how annoying was it swapping the subframe anyway? i can imagine the hardest bit would be messing around with the steering rack? cheers..
  11. ahhh cheers buddy, im guessing this is a fairly common problem then?
  12. absolutley gutted!! finnaly got some motivation to replaced the passenger side wishbone and balljoints and front disc, {did the drivers side a few weeks back} and the front wishbone bolt snapped!!!! i did use penetrating spray but clearly didnt help, the wishbone is still held in by the stud thats left in,{its clean in half}any advice/ ideas? im guessing if i use the car the stud will become free on its siezed threads as it'll rock back n forth, am i right in thinking the wishbone cant realy go anywhere as the driveshaft and arb will be stopping it from pulling out? {its the horizontal bolt at the front }if you know what i mean. anybody know the part numbers of these bolts? thanks...
  13. ah cheers, was it a pita to find a guage? or did you just replace the whole dash clock assembely?,
  14. hi, recently replaced the temp senders, blue and yellow as i was sure i wasnt getting the correct reading, temp gauge allways stayed around 75-80 and the bay just seems alot hotter, the fans will turn on when the gauge goes up past 90 or 100? but it would only get there if the car is stood still running, my m8 hooked it up to vag com and the ecu temp is 10 degres hotter then the gauge temp even with new senders, is there anything else that im missing? dodgey connection on the plug to the sender maybe?, or am i just beeing parnoid thinking my engines going to burst into flames? cheers...
  15. ah cheers guys, yea i know what you mean about the g clamp thing dave, on the mk4 i used water pump pliers and they compressed the bushing & bracket an absolute treat!
  16. i almost got the same problem, although i have an early obd1 vr6, just has a straight offset pipe and no valve like you have, basicaly i thought the join was leaking as i had oil on my exhaust manifold which is why i was getting smoke,so i got some jubilee clips to make the joint sound as the pipe just press fitts, anyway i started wiggling the pipe off and my thumb went straight through the pipe! it was just perished and split underneith, so i got a new pipe comming, £25!!!!! though!http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270604109274&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
  17. yea thought it was the subframe, wasnt 100% tho, do you think its possible to drop it slightly to replace them bushs without removing and disconnecting other things? there not badly worn, i get a slight knock every now n then, its just i brought them thinking they would be as easy to replace as a mk4 golf, oh how wrong can i be....
  18. check out this link, its for mk4's but itll give you a prety good idea and its deffinatly worth haven a butchers.http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?1835863#post18980589
  19. i was thinking about getting a set of weitec hicon gt, anyone have any experiance with these?
  20. hello, i want to replace my front arb bushs, iv replaced them on a mk4 golf before but on the corrado the mounting seems to be sandwhiched inbetween some plates {drivers side} didnt realy want to fiddle with that at the time,as i was already delayed by replaceing the wishbone with upgraded r32 bushs and new droplinks, track rod end, would be nice to finish off the drivers side, lol i jumped straight in, didnt realise you have to lift the engine for the sump to clear to wishbone bolt :( all done now tho, the passenger side should be a breeze :) ---------- Post added at 04:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:53 PM ---------- lol i guess i better include a question if i want an answer, whats the crack with replaceing the bushs? gota remove stuff etc? cheers.
  21. bad m8 imo, especialy those tail lights,i see these style of lights all the time on saxo's n hondas, they just scream CHEAP NASTY CHEAP NASTY,but its your car and your decision.
  22. yo you need to pull up on the rear middle seat section, remove the ash tray{just unclips} then theres 4 10mm nuts which you remove, then the center section should be almost free only a few more skrews here n there ,just have a look its prety self explanatory,
  23. sounds to me like you just need to let the discs and pads wear in to each other, when there new they dont sit 100% square with each other untill there wear abit,
