  1. hi, has anybody had driveshafts from here before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140354455811&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT they says its oe quality and have a 2year warrenty,so they cant be that bad for the price?
  2. i use specific caliper paint, its expensive but atleast it gives me the confidence it aint gona bubble or burn up due to the high temp..
  3. lol didnt notice that on mine, bearings have been fine since i fitted them,
  4. sound, can you remember if the mk4 calipers were slightly bigger?
  5. thanks for info dukest, damn thinking about it, i need new disc's anyway, so i could of ordered 288mm discs n got caliper carriers to suit as it wont cost me much more anyway {price of the carriers} but they wont fit my 15" steels that iv just brought :( do the 288mms make a significant difference? thanks.
  6. thanks for the reply, isnt the standard vr6 front disc 280mm? the only reason i want mk4 front calipers is realy just to update the current {standard}brake setup,i dont want to fit bigger brakes etc, iv already got mk4 rear calipers ready to go on, im just waiting for the darn hoses to turn up,just realy want to know if the front calipers are gona be the same fitment as doing the rear mk4 calipers? i.e just bolt on and change the brake hoses. and if the mk4 front caliper is any bulkier than the standard vr6 caliper? because if it is bulkier my wheels aint going on without spacers :(
  7. so im prety much looking £200 then, also looking at what james paid. it deffinatly needs doing so i better get on the case, im from a funny old place called guernsey in the channel islands, we do have a vw/audi dealership over here but its in my best interest to avoid it,
  8. wheres the best place to get one? euro carparts is out and theres is £175 ,roughly what kinda price is the genuine? thanks..
  9. hi ppl, need to replace my rad soon, found this on ebay looks prety nice!http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GODSPEED-92-95-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-ALUMINUM-RADIATOR-/160532526076?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25607bf3fc what are your thoughts on this fitting and running ok? it says the size is 622x311x44 but i found a standard rad for the C vr6 and it says the dimensions are 625x302x32 which one is correct? will those differences in dimensions affect fitting? or do you have room for a couple of mm either way? thanks..
  10. lol steady on eh, good stuff ray, its such a good feeling when you accomplish little money saveing jobs,as for ideas on what next? maybe suspension bushings? oil and filter change?
  11. hi, does anybody know if mk4 golf front calipers will bolt straight on a corrado vr6?{with conversion hoses} and also are they the same overall size? as my standard caliper is very close to fowling/rubbing on the wheel, cheers..
  12. LOL prety much sums it up, iv owned mine for almost 3weeks and already finding it an absolut pain undoing bolts etc, i deffo want to replace my thermostat houseing and my rad does need replaceing as its developed a slight leak just below the top connection, so think i'll just do the lot in one go, wheres the best place to get a rad for these badboys? {vr6} and what kinda price should i be looking to pay? cheers..
  13. awesome job dude, very inspirational!! i want to replace my thermostat houseing soon, how easy is it to remove the front like you have? cheers.
  14. removed mine the other day,it was falling apart, everytime i opened the hood a new piece of foam would be sitting on the engine :( prety simple to remove but you need to get the correct materials, Tar and glue remover! a paint brush and a good old wall paper scraper with a slight custom curve :) makes light work of this dirty jerb!
  15. my central locking is very slow, like the door pin pops up stupidly slow, the other week it failed to pop up so i couldnt get in, came back n tryed again n it opened, is there anything i can lubricate to speed it up?
  16. lol yea same thing happened last week,,, it also happened on my mk4 golf {at the same garage}the other week to, filled up fine today {at different garage} so im assumeing its there pump nozzles at that other garage..
  17. recently just brought a corrado vr6 at a nice price, but nice prices generaly means "needs tlc" which = £ , but im prepared to do it because the end result means i have a farken sweet ride with new shiney spangly service parts, ive already done plugs, leads, rear discs and bearings, rocker gasket, rotor arm,oil and filter change and sorted out oil leaks from the oil cooler and knock sensor and fixed the bonnet release cable, needs a few more bits n bobs doing, but otherwise allways bear in mind they are old cars which in most cases will need something doing at somepoint,
  18. i recently replaced the oil cooler seals from underneith the car, its prety tricky but not impossible so maybe try doing that way as its easyer then removeing the front of the car,
  19. good stuff, im kinda going through the same thing, picked up a banger last week, already replaced the following. :-new leads :-plugs:-rotor arm:-bonnet cable:-oil and filter change:-oil cooler seals:-alternator belt:-rear discs and bearings:-rocker gasket, hopefully this week i can get my mk4 golf rear calipers on and finnaly have a hand brake,{where i live you need one} also picked up some mk4 golf steel wheels on ebay, which im getting banded, still unsure of the dimensions but standard there 15" 6j and have a 38et, might get a tyre on and see how it fits?,
  20. cheers, yea its nce finaly finding out whats up, although now i think i have to get it hooked up to vag com for the ecu basic settings? http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_ecu_reset_procedure.html havnt realy driven it since, as i havnt had chance.
  21. yea use either the irwin bolt grips or hammer in a 12 point bit, similar to torx, this is what i used on mine as they also rounded,i would also recomend buying new abs rings aswell.
  22. hi guys looking into getting banded steels on my vr6 in 15", for the front would 7.5j with an offset of 30 be ok? would this be flush with the arch? and what would be suitable for the rear? i dont want to go nuts with it, cheers..
  23. im guessing mk4 golf calipers would be a straight swap for the fronts aswell?
  24. prety much think ive sorted this, after replaceing the rotor arm i want to reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery, turns out the negative battery clamp was loose on the terminal even though the clamp bolt was tight, got it sorted and theres no jerky or jumpy throttle response in the low cruiseing rev range,,, yay :)
