I'm not going to risk it - check out another link I have found...(go to section B),I quote:
'The catalyst test is part of the MOT test for most class IV spark ignition petrol engined passenger cars with four or more wheels first used on and after 1 August 1992.'
This is the manual they use at the MOT test centre!

I've got a cat-back Powerflow system on mine - lifetime waranty and £310 fitted! It also doesn't look or sound too lairy which is what I wanted anyway.
Cheap as chips

Not sure on the prices for a Corrado - but it wasn't too bad for the Golf. As you are a bit strapped for the folding stuff I would suggest going to an independant rather than the VW dealer (£70 an hour!! ). A mobile mechanic did my Golf bushes - I think it only took him a couple of hours (about £60 labour total). Get the bits and bobs from German and Swedish or similar - they are basically the same parts. Wheel bearings can be quite pricey, so check if they need doing first. Just jack up the wheel and rock the wheel in and out - if there is a bit of play you can usually tighten the nut on the hub to improve things.

Yeah agree with G60jet - get the wishbone and steering rack bushes checked. I had this problem on my MK2 GTi and the car was sorted after replacing them. Also check your wheel bearings are not worn.
