Things you hate other people do to your car...
lewvw replied to guildmage's topic in General Car Chat
I saw a guy at an unnamed fast fit centre VERY close to where I work gun up wheel nuts as though they were transit hub nuts, really makes you cringe!! As Tempest says invest in a torque wrench and just drop your wheels off! -
The top nut's on my original struts were 22mm, the coilovers came with 21mm nuts.

Yeah I think with suspension as much as anything you really do get what you pay for!
-
Well at least you're saving for better ones, and if makes you feel better i've got £450 weitecs and although they don't hit the bump stops they're pretty hard! In hindsight i'd have spent a bit more for KW's.
-
Cheers andy, I knew they would be gone in a second if I didn't go for 'em :) I didn't even know BBS made these in 16's

Corrado virgin, is the storm edition worth the extra premium?
lewvw replied to maximusiv's topic in General Car Chat
Cheaper than a time machine :) but seriously they can't have sold any? Have they ever come up on here? -
I wouldn't say it was far off! Looks pretty sweet though!

As far as i'm aware all suspension set ups should have bump stops so i wouldn't remove them. I'm not sure what coilovers you have but if they are sitting on the bumpstops then you must have gone lower than they were designed for.
-
You say the car raises and lowers? If thats the case they can't be resting on the bump stops, they're probably just ridiculously hard!

Mmmm those pies! Great day, good spirits couldn't be dampened by the most persistent rain since Noah allegedly built an ark! -
Cheers ian, just looks a bit weird with just the small piece. Yeah i'll sort out an earth strap tuesday. see you tomorrow then! Lewis

Sprayed and laquered my calipers today, realised that i had no masking tape and no where was open so just went ahead anyway. All the paint came off the discs by the way! I then attempted to tidy up the bay a little, looks better but still needs a proper degreasing with a bit of wire wool on the engine :) Noticed my earth strap is broken, what are the symptoms of this as I hadn't noticed anything off? And my scuttle panel looks like its missing half or is this right? Amazing the crap that accumulates under there!

Awesome looking machine, lools more sherry pearl though to me? Good luck :)

Redfox that mk2 looks sweet. Did you pay the same insane level of attention to that too?

Got a couple of things done today Carried out the headlamp switch fuse mod, couldn't stand the idea of a flaming corrado so thought i better had! Muchos cheap and easy, cheers CrazyDave for the excellent guide :) Then fitted my new switch as the old one disintegrated on removal. Cheers 8vmatt for the switch :) I then washed and went over the paint with a clay bar, now i didnt really know how to approach this but once i got going it really was JUST like rubbing a piece of clay over the paint :D But amazed by the amount of crap that it digs out of supposedly clean paint. Highly recommend doing this. Thanks scarlet_vr6 for the idea ;)

Im not all that happy with the powerflex front arm rear bushes on mine tbh, theres too many bits it all feels a bit cobbled together, the oem or r32 bushes just locate nicely into the subframe. So i think i'll be going that route soon enough. I have some brand new powerflex rear axle bushes though if youre interested?

Hopefully just bolts as above, good luck getting it sorted, let me know if I can help, got plenty of kit.
