1. Anybody had trouble explaining to the wheel alignment place that you are supposed to adjust the toe on just one side. I thought they would know what I was talking about, but turns out not and I didn't know enough to correct them, so I have a few questions to arm myself for my return  Which side track rod is adjusted? Bentley says right but thats US only isn't it? Bentley says you have to measure the left (or right depending on above) complete arm at 406mm from centre of track rod spindle to rack end of arm, how can I do that on the car? (isn't the rack boot in the way?) So what then happens, do you just turn steering to bring that one into 0 degrees then adjust the other side until they're both at 0? Does anybody know why VW do it like this? Also my camber is at -1.8 o/s and -0.8 n/s I think remember reading Kev saying that a lowered vr6 should be -1? And finally...the camber adjustment tool has anybody made one? And will it locate on the body ok because my the top rim of my wheel will be higher up in the arch? Cheers to anybody who hasn't got bored and wandered off and can help :thumbleft: Lewis
2. I bought a Specialized Hardrock for £350, I did a few trails on it and it didn't put a foot wrong. I wouldn't go too cheap if you're gonna rally it though ;)

10. Well I just looked into 'shore hardness' on wikipedia and that 70ish sounds pretty good to me, every days a school day! :)
11. Everybody i've had dealings with on here have been great, Swompy, Pat_McCrotch and 8vMatt I salute you :)
12. Why do the 12valves run so damn hot? It's not as if there's a shortage of cooling system parts! Sorry to go off topic :bonk:
13. This sounds pretty simple, the R32 is supposedly a dream to drive if mapped properly, but is more expensive - so if you can afford the initial cost and bear in mind it will keep on hitting the wallet harder than a well rebuilt 12v then it's R32, but if you want familiarity and more cash for the other things it will let you down on then it's the trusty ol' 12v ;)
14. Yeah definitely, you're going to Coleford aren't you? Lewis
15. Cheers corsameal, I looked on ebay but there's just a rear badge for £30!! I've sprayed mine black and it looks ok so it'll have to do

18. Update; Had my lower arms powder coated at QS enamellers (thanks GlosterOx for the shout :) ) and fitted my powerflex bushes These will never look this nice again :( All new bolts to be fitted along with the new front strut top mounts, I didn't want to use all the rusty old bolts with my freshly rejuvenated lower arms  So I then got back to work in my garage (which is approximately the width of a Corrado plus about 3"!) fitting all of these bits along with my torque wrench and bentley for guidance with torque figures (i always torque everything correctly where possible - even on the fords at work - I just can't deal with the guessing!!) I only really struggled with one bit and that was the NS lower arm rear bush bolt - i'll be brief - basically for those of you that don't know powerflex lower arm rear bushes come with a washer and a collar above and below the bush, I think the collar is there to secure the washer in place while you fit the arm (not 100% sure) the washer has a half moon cut out which locates on the subframe mould of the same shape (this is the bit which the original bushes locate in to) and my n/s collars could not be fitted because the at first the bolt would not catch on the thread, after about a whole day of struggling on my back, I removed the arm and the bolt went in a treat. So I then tried with the collars fitted and the collars would not fit into the recess's with the bolt in place. I ended up fitting it without the collars and it's been fine :) but I still don't know what the problem was all my subrame looks visually ok. Oh well i'm sure i'll figure it out. So, very impressed with the Weitec Hicon Gt's (although i've never had coilies before so have no reference point here) there is minimal roll and body control is pretty good. Plus it looks so much better at this height ;)
