I dunno about that Honda vtec engines sound pretty good at silly rpm and my mk5 gti was pretty nice with the twintake :) but mostly yeah they sound pantsish. -
Resident evil 6,anyone played it yet then?
lewvw replied to corrado_sunderland's topic in Off-topic Chat
Re4 was awesome, 5 would have been good had it not been a resident evil game as it was too much of a departure, I played the demo of 6 and did leons campaign which was with zombies but theres still something missing. -
Done, come on guys and girls get voting, they've fallen behind!

If you've signed an order form I doubt you'll get much else but you could try for some sort of paint protection and a free service :)

Does anyone on here have L*** NBD my old Blackberry VR with cream leather? Just wondering as it was a lovely car :)
-
Well it happened again today on tesco roundabout quedgeley in rush hour and nearly got me shunted and written off :( so I had a quick look under bonnet wiggling all engine related terminals and found my crank sensor wiring just sitting on the front crossmember Gave it a quick wiggle and sure enough it killed the engine instantly, further inspection revealed the engine loom side has rubbed through and corroded. A wiring repair is in order :) At least it was easy to find and a cheap repair.

Bristolbaron's BBM Charged G60 : Leaving so soon?!

Mahoosive improvement on the wheels, looks lovely now :) -
Pretty much what Graphite said, the Vortigaunts which are the friendly aliens on HL2 were attacking you in Black mesa in HL as they were being controlled by the combine. Pretty much like the combine soldiers are (although I think the combine soldiers are mutated somehow). Anyway enjoy pretty much the best game ever! I take it you are playing Orange box, ep1 and ep2 are equally awesome and are better looking cus HL2 was a few years previous to those.

Yep, they are an easy car to live with if well maintained

Intermittently when gently accelerating 2nd/3rd gear 20-35mph my car will feel like it has hit a brick wall which usually stalls the engine, for the first time today it did not stall though. This happens maybe once a week if that. Any ideas guys?
-
If the intermediate pulley is not aligned then you can end up with the timing half a tooth out between the cams and crank, if you are just doing the cams you need to be very careful as it is very easy to make a mistake.

That looks sweet :) did those bolt on easily enough?

I have Wietec GT's which were £430 and they are ok but a little on the hard side for me. I would go KW or a decent bilstein/spring setup. Quality suspension is vital with the state of our roads, even on the Wietecs which are supposed to be decent I feel like i'm shaking my poor Rado to pieces! I'm gonna go with some Bilsteins shocks and jack up a bit ASAP :)
-
Looks much better with the standard rear lights.

Cleaning the Corrado today, washed off a few medium sized bird craps and when chamoising off I noticed one has burned quite badly into the paint Does anybody know if this will cut out? She does scrub up well for a daily :)

You will because the ABS is pulsing a bigger caliper with more friction material on a bigger disc. Therefore you WILL stop faster. If bigger brakes are not better then why did VW fit massive brakes to an R32, why not just 1.4se brakes?
-
Anyone can lock up the ABS at low speed, but if you are doing 100mph and need to stop fast then bigger brakes will slow you down more effectively. Even when the ABS is working bigger brakes will be slowing you faster.
-
Bigger brakes make faster, safer braking easier. There, said it :)

Don't buy anything less than KW if you want any comfort whatsoever, I thought Wietec GT's would be a nice compromise of performance/price but they are just mega uncomfortable. TBH I would just go for Bilstein shocks and some decent springs (eibach,H+R) if you want to retain some comfort. Also I used powerflex bushes and again I regret it. Just go OEM with bushes (especially rear axle), many people on here swear by the R32 front lower arm rear bush. I don't think you will need to mess with the bodywork, it will look nice and OEM+ with a 40mm drop, plus it's not easily reversible if you decide you don't like it. :)

Put a voltmeter on the starter trigger wire when it normally faults and see if you lose power when it stops turning. If it doesn't lose power then it must be the starter. If it does then check ign switch and wiring. Also check the permanent feed to the starter under the same conditions.
-
What do you mean by tries to turn over? When you say it dies turning over I think starting circuit ie; starter/ign switch/battery.

Recieved my badge, cheers Gareth

I've seen the Lenso's on mk2's and they look like a BBS split to me, no doubt a BBS connoisseur would tell me different :) I like the idea of having a similar look but without having to worry about the investment too much. If I still had my MK2 it would have a set of 15" Ronal LS as they are sweet, cheap and smart as a carrot ;)
