1. Great stuff! Anyone know which ones we need from that page?
2. I used to run a snap off wheel on my old 16v. The car was parked on the street in London. I found that people just kept breaking my door locks (happened twice, two locations) and then pulling the back seats down assuming the wheel was in the boot, which to be honest is what you'll end up doing fairly often. You'd be better off fitting a secret isolation switch somewhere to cut power to the fuel pump. Much cheaper!
3. Got it, thanks Jim! Rocketron doesn't seem to be a user when I go to the directory? Is that 100% his user name?
4. Keen to know this too, I've got 2 spare headlamp plugs but no metal clips in them.
5. Thanks Jim, electronic copy would be great and I'll drop rocketron a line
6. Yeah it is all complete and undamaged, pm me for paypal details. Cheers
7. I have the long rubber bit that goes all the way around the screen. £25 posted
8. Cheers mate, price is basically what they cost me to buy and refurb.....tyres and hassle of doing it all come free in the deal :)
9. I had these fairly rare RH/Artec AD Cups refurbished for my Corrado VR6 project. They have been refurbed to a high standard by BettaBlast in Newcastle. Anthracite base with a deep, thick lacquer.....they look really deep in the flesh They are 16" x 7" ET35 and are fitted with Hancook evo V12, 2 are almost new and the other 2 have 4mm. They come with genuine RH caps (£30 each to buy new) They have covered less than 200 miles on the car since the refurb as I used them for one show and then upgraded to bigger brakes and then discovered these won't fit over them without spacers due to the deep dish design :( Don't really want to run spacers on a car with almost 300bhp £550
10. Been renewing all the foam gaskets in the air system, all ready now. Just waiting to have a decent run of time to start putting it all back together. This has been a bitch of a job due to all the extra things that are worth doing while the dash is out. Probably racked up 16 hours or more and it's still in bits :) Got to the bottom of the wiring bodges too. Looks like the car has had an attempted theft at some point. Explains why the passenger window wasn't tinted like the others. I'm guessing this happened when Robbo, Craig or Mookie owned it as I've seen pictures from before that time and the windows are all tinted in them. Basically the autowatch alarm has 2 immobilised circuits, but 4 wires for each (8 black wires in total) so that would be thieves, are confused. Someone had cut one of the circuits and tried to hotwire, but the other one is in tact. Attack thwarted! Nobody bothered to wire it back up properly and so just left it with a load of wires hanging out all over the place.
11. You could post it to Michael at MB motorsport in Gateshead (garage I use) he is very good at Ally welding and well priced too. I shouldn't think he'd charge more than an hour for doing it so about £30-40 tops. Cheaper than changing the rocker and pump if you can afford to have the car off the road for a couple of days. Pm me if you want his number Cheers Ron
12. I've had it on top of the AGA in our kitchen and it didn't melt so fingers crossed :)
13. Got my flaps out tonight Cleaned them up and lined them with 4mm neoprene adhesive backed foam, way better than the crappy foam originally fitted. Flaps in a tidied up box :)
14. Awesome, it would be great to get hold of one!
15. Hi Jim, Thanks for sending me the link, do you have any copies of this sprinter left? Trying to keep a big record of the car so this would be a good addition. Thanks Ron
16. All done! "Ron, thank you, I charged the card, in the end it is 1434,93 €.. The shipping will be soon to the UK Best regards, Peter" So I will be in touch when they get here. I think with all the other new clips, bushes and a new wheel and a new horn cap, it will make the car feel like it doesn't have 141K on the clock :)
17. Hi guys, Looks like there are a few folks who want a cap but are not buying a wheel. That causes a bit of a problem in that I have to organise more postage and I don't really want to buy this many caps up front without payment and then also have to get a payment for postage on caps only etc I hope you guys understand. I am going to order 7 caps along with the 7 wheels, I'll give first refusal to the guys buying wheels (so far 5 have confirmed) then the others, if any left will be offered to the other guys who just want a cap......in order of their reply in this thread. I don't think the caps are obsolete now, just the wheels :) so we're just saving on postage with them. Happy to give anyone who doesn't get a cap the guys email addy at vw classic so you can order from him direct. The cost of postage would be the only difference. Cheers Ron
18. Horn caps 1) Me 2) Jim 3) Sean Jaymo 4) Portent 5) Mort1414 As I have no idea what these will translate to on my debit card (they are 25 euros) I'll just buy them and then if its OK, let you know the final cost once I've paid and can look at my bank balance. Some peeps will owe me a little more anyway once I have the charge figure, but the good thing is we get it all at once and so only pay the bank charge once :) Going to order in the morning at 10am so any more takers on the caps have until then. Cheers Ron
19. Finally a reply from Peter Sorry, Ron, I was away for a little time, but did forget to answer you when I came back.. My colleague Stefan told me that Eric Coolen contacted him.. The seven wheels are still reserved for you, just waiting for payment. The cap is 1H0 419 669 J 01C, around 25 € each.. What to do? Sorry again, Peter Does anyone need a centre cap too? at 25 euros I might just buy 7 of them too as I'm sure I could sell them on. Going to order at the end of the day today, so please speak up! Cheers Ron
20. Just found out that my car was featured on the cover and I'd like a copy or even just a high rez of the cover for my records. Issue 41 Dec 2012 Thanks Ron
21. Awesome, yep that is my car :) Just need a higher rez version of that now for my archives!
22. Hmm sounds like mine, do you have a pic?
23. I'm also running 1.5 neg camber, drives fine and no really obvious tyre wear issues
