1. Removed the horrible chrome finish window tints today. Luckily tint it self came off fairly easily in one or two chunks but glue is taking longer. Anyone have any tips for it? White spirit just takes ages!
2. 1. Corrado VR6 2. Corrado G60 3. Corrado 2.0 16V 4. Corrado 1.8 16V 5. Corrado 8V Funny how they made the perfect number of models to fit into a top 5 :) ---------- Post added at 1:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:24 PM ---------- Missed this line -The cars must have ceased, or still been in production before 1987 (i.e. at least 25 years old) -
3. The last group buy had the VR6 hoses coming in at about £189 plus £23 for clips. New kits from Merlin Motorsport for VR6 are £279 so these prices are crappy :(
4. How do you get it to put the location in? I click edit and then add a title and a description but after that, how does it put the pin on the board?
5. OK cool, sounds good although having read up on the install at the fuse box I am now a little scared. I used to be an electricians apprentice and have an NVQ2 in electrical engineering but it looks like a right mess in there when looking at other peoples photos. Are your instructions including plenty of pics? I'm not sure what seats I have, all I know is they are late spec (post 92) with the heated seat elements. Do you need me to take a picture of the connectors underneath? Cheers Ron
6. Hi James, Is this the complete loom, the part that goes to the seats with relays and also the switch, or is it just the lower section for seats and relays? Have you got one fully working in a car yet? Cheers Ron
7. Removed from my car today and in good nick! See pic This is a genuine Black one and not a painted silver one. £10 posted
8. Looking really good mate, nice and classy with no aftermarket bling :)
9. Do you know if this is for a late or early car? not sure if there is a difference but worht checking first.
10. I called Stealth today as I thought I had full history for the car but this isnt in there so I wanted to check what was going on. They confirmed (very helpful) that my car has been at Stealth twice, once in 2011 (which I have recipts for) for timing chains, water/oil pump and clutch change. But also another time in 2006 (I have no recipt for) which was for the Miltek exhaust, vibratechnics mount and a rolling road re-map. Awesome news as I was wondering where/when the car gained the miltek and engine mounts. Also means the car has been properly set up for it's mods.
11. As bought from another owner on here back in December. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?78494-VR6-PowerChip&highlight=powerchip Went to fit it yesterday and when I opened my ECU I found a Stealth Racing chip in there so no need for this. I paid £30 delivered and so just want to recoup my outlay......£30 delivered ;) Original thread on these here, rumored to be an AMD remap but no 100% proof. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?37407-Ebay-VR6-Powerchip-feedback&highlight=powerchip
12. Yeah, I wasn't expecting to see that cheeky little number in there. Happy to find it though! Yes other chip is for sale, it is for a coil pack 2.9
13. Lucky me today, went to fit the chip I bought from another member and when I opened the ECU I found this cheeky little logo :) That explains a lot as it seems rapid compared to others I've driven. Another odd one is looking through the history there is a Vw dealer receipt for a brand new head, fitted and there is a note at the bottom. "Assembled with customer supplied cams, notable difference to originals" not sure what that could mean?
14. Frost auto restoration is the only place I've seen it in the uk. You can buy a starter kit for £15. They also do some stuff call POR15 patch which is really thick like silicone sealant, sets to hard black epoxy and great for putting over seams or any small holes you may have. ---------- Post added at 6:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:48 PM ---------- Once you go on the Frost site you'll never get off it ;)
15. It is a bit of a labour as you get 3 treatments that work together. Marine clean is a degreaser to clean first, the Prep and ready which is a zinc primer coat, then the POR15 Although apparently once done you'll never have to do again!
16. It is hardcore and expensive at about £30 a can but a can will do quote a lot as you don't need much. If you fill the cavitys with Black waxoyl it will make a right mess as it will drip out of the water holes. You can buy some clear wax spray from Vw from what I've heard.
17. Put my standard airbox on and took the horrible cone filter out...... Ah that's better
18. Sounds like the same fault as I had, car takes a while to warm up and in traffic gets up to temp but on a run, sits just around 70. Way to tell if the stat is stuck open is the top rad pipe will start to get warm even when the engine hasn't warmed up. The thermostat is supped to keep the water in a closed loop around the engine and out of the radiator to help warming and then release to the rad once warm. Factor in changing your thermostat housing and other plastic pipes while in there as they get very brittle with age. You can get the lot from AVS for about £60, labour cost me £80 as I couldn't be arsed to do myself ;)
19. I did some waxoyl on mine last weekend as a temp measure while I had all the wheels off. However I'm actually going to coat under the wings in the usual rust spots in POR15 which is a epoxy sealing paint. Pretty much indestructible once dry, should keep things rust free!
20. Cool, I just had my wheels done there. Also got a set of 288 calipers/carriers that I'll likely get done there too. We need to get a north east meet going!
