1. Drivers seat also looks a bit shabby for the miles!
2. They are not available but I do have a spare set of aftermarket ones that I bought from ARZ in germany. I paid £8 for them so you can have them for £9 (£1 for postage) if you wan them. They dont look 100% like the originals though, they have a yellow nylon ring and instead of being silver metal, they are slightly yellow (like brake calipers when you buy them new) They look like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLF-MK2-GTI-JETTA-MK2-DOOR-LOCK-PINS-PAIR-357837034-BRAND-NEW-/251217869618?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7dc07b32 Cheers Ron
3. Good man! There's dedication. Having spoken to a couple of guys on PM, some good cases for it being the Sunday as the traffic should be less and people generally have less to do. So here is my proposal for a plan: Date: Sunday 17th of March First meet location, Easington: 10:30am (wait 15 mins) Second location, Thirsk: 11:30 (wait 15 mins) Helmsley at 12:30 (likely earlier if everyone arrives at meet locations on time) Let me know if anyone has any good suggestions on exact locations for the meeting point at Easington as I've never been? For Thirsk we have Marage rd opposite Bradley's yard (on google maps) in Thirsk there's a coach park and its free This is gonna be fun, just hope it isn't snowing!
4. So far had just 1 PM message about the date and meeting/convoy location.... a little depressing :( Come on guys!
5. Hi Dan, Could you ship them? I need some spare wheels for my wife's Fabia. I'm in Newcastle upon tyne.
6. Found some pics of my old Corrados at the weekend: My Burgundy Pearl 1.8 16V, circa 2001 Any my Khaki VR6 with the VWM VSR and Mushroom leather, circa 2002
7. I know what you mean mate, owning an old car becomes as obsession that is not healthy at times. Yesterday I went out in my Corrado and all the tiny niggles just left me depressed, I didn't enjoy driving it and started to wish I hadn't bought it :( Then I drove my 59 plate Octavia VRS which is the TSI engine stage 2 mapped (around 270-280bhp) plus H&R suspension mods, roll bars and other bits, it drives beutifully and would destroy the Corrado in a race. Even in the twisties I think, plus never needs any of my attention. But then this AM I saw the corrado parked in the garage and had to smile......f*cking thing
8. Are you open to offers John? I'd give you £65 for it.
9. I'm interested if this falls through......good to see you are still about John, I havent seen you since 2002 :) Ron
10. Hi Guys, Just adding to this as my ABS light came on yesterday and it VCDS says that all 4 sensors have reported and "implausable signal" that fact that it is all four suggests something funky has gone on with the ABS connector. I'm guessing it is the largish connector going to the bottom area of the ABS pump attached to the bulkhead? If so that I can't get the bugger off, there is a clip on the top that I can see but I'm wondering if there is another on the underside of the connector that I need to push in to release? Cheers Ron
11. Mate, doing my best but I dont have a lot of time to micro manage this ;) Firstly, before we get into the details of convoy locations and all that, I need to know who can actually make it as while the list of people who expressed interest is looking solid, we need to know who can make what date. So if everyone who is up for this please PM me with answers to the following Date: Can you make the 16th? Can you make the 17th? Will you be meeting us at: Easington? Thirsk? Helmsley? Thanks Ron ---------- Post added at 2:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:23 PM ---------- If your car isn't ready but you want to come anyway then let me know, I can alway give you a lift.
12. I had them the wrong way around, Right and Left mixed up.....whoops :(
13. Actually looking through the thread, everyone gave their location and so I've built up that list in the first thread. It looks like we don't have anyone too much further north than Newcastle but we do have quite a few folk coming over from further south (Hull, Leeds, Harrogate) So North Yorks/South Tyneside would be best middle ground. Helmsley is a beautiful spot, I've only been once. My only concern is that the main central square gets busy and may not be big enough to house all our cars. Does anyone know if there is a good space there aside from the central square just in case it's packed? Date wise, I think 16/17th would be a good weekend, I can't make the weekend after that and then it is Easter and so a lot of folks will go see family etc
14. Ok guys, just catching up on this now. Ideally I'm hoping we can get something regular going like the Southern lot ;) So even if someone has a bit more of a trek this time, we'll balance it out next time, although agreed on trying keep as central as possible but also picturesque with some nice roads. I've edited the first post to account for a list, for those of you haven't stated your location, can I have them please? I think mid to late March is a good time, we can't keep delaying!
15. Alreet chaps.....the weather is getting better and I think we should get that meet back on the cards!
16. Hi guys, Took my door cards out to fix rattles etc And also to sort out the bodge that someone had done in glueing the plastic trims that go around the door pulls to the leather (idiot) Managed to get them off around without damage and got some new ones with all tabs in tact. But.... I just can't get the buggers on! I last did this about 10 year ago. As I remember it you slide them sideways into place. However the bulge of the actual door handle gets in the way? Any tips?
17. Mmmmm Samco! Thanks to Dave (fragsxr) for sorting me out with these! Just need to find a company that sells the two oil cooler pipes?
18. Good to know guys, I've got a set of Samco's to go on soon
19. Well, I dont see the deal here mate unless I am missing something? Amber have offered you 30% off their price of £339 but Awesome GTI sell them for £266 inc VAT and free delivery anyway http://www.awesomegti.com/parts/engine/silicone-hoses/samco-coolant-hose-kit-corrado-vr6-uk-rhd-manual-transmission-44286 So it's actually a 10% off deal and you have to find 11 people. To be honest I'd try Awesome and see if they will do a group buy? I'm sorted anyway as I just bought a new set but second hand from another forum member. ---------- Post added at 3:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:25 PM ---------- Hi Mate, do you know what the part number was for the 2 for the oil cooler? Thanks

21. I've found the white spirit works better with a plastic credit card as a scraper. Gonna try the window tint place next to MB, see what they recommend.
22. Early job for me this AM, the plastic trim around the heater controls on my car was covered in deep scratches on the top edge where someone had been very clumsy while fitting a radio. Got a mint one from eBay for £8
23. Today I striped out the door cards and removed the nasty chrome finish window tint. Still need to have another go at the glue as plenty let on :( Also fixed my non working passenger wing mirror. The control switch had green oxidisation all over the connectors. Before After Then I gave the door card and handles etc a bloody good clean and lined the parts that mate with the door in felt.
