I know this is a Corrado forum but some parts are shared with the VR6.. Bought this little beaut to break. Everything is available bar the cylinder head and OBDII gubbins. A list of what the cars got. Spax RSX coilovers Schmidt Modernlines 16x9 5x100 ET15 with 215/40/16 tyres (x2 federal and x2 other similar make iirc). All are lightly curbed but easily refurbish-able and the tyres have had the side-walls rubbed, but loads of tread 288mm front brakes Samco Purple(ish) hose kit Chavvy poopy make steering wheel (but actually feels nice to drive with :lol: ) K&N induction kit Glass sunroof Stainless De-Cat Pipe Scorpion exhaust (twin tailpipe) Aircon Good headlights, tail lights and fogs (indicators and middle bits have seen better days) All switches are working ABS working Electric Windows working Everything is available so just drop me a PM or reply to this thread with what you want. Right, the car is long gone. Apologies to those awaiting answers on parts but with other commitments (work/friends/family/girlfriend/constant VR6 maintenance :bonk: ) I've just not had time to organise my mound of parts. I will put up individual parts up for sale in their retrospective adverts as and when I pull my finger out and organise through my parts boxes. I have the next few weeks dedicated to do this as I really need some space... Keep you eyes open. MODS: Can you please lock this thread or whatever you guys normally do to clean the place up? What happens with the valve/sensor? Leave it plugged in and just dangling or remove it and leave the wires unplugged?

Exactly the same happened to mine. The metal has fatigued on the actual handle frame and not on the more common push rod mechanism. It's dead. Caput. Gameover. :(

Massive! Only Yesterday I changed from the metal type to the plastic type and mine had such an annoying tick coming from the rocker breather area. Now I'm running the plastic type it's quietened down loads; It's still there but not as metallic or tinny sounding. When you actually look at the head design and the underside of the cover you'll see why, it's pretty much a big gap/hole in the head for the crank to breathe and literally a box section with a hole for the rocker breather, add that to a metal surround and you have perfect acoustics and metallic resonator for amplifying sound.. Great design there VW. :bonk:

This is what's confusing me, both have the same part number, effectively: 1H0 412 359 which appears to be a MK2/3/Ibiza/Toledo/passat/corrado part number But V1HO 412 359 and TAH 1H0 412 359 don't seem to exist at all, acording to VAGCAT and Google. Maybe the numbers before the 1H0 are just VW or manufacture identifies and aren't actually part of the official number?

Correct! The old style gasket is for the metal style covers, part number: 021 103 483 B - This is like a flat ribbed gasket (13.40 +vat) The new style gasket for the plastic type cover is: 021 103 483 D - This is the same shape but has a long rib which sits within the plastic cover and is wider (more surface area on the head). (£13.63 +vat)

hey all, I'm looking for some VR6 suspension top strut covers/caps which sit on the very top in the engine bay. Plastic types.. I've done a search and have found nothing on them. Can anyone provide a part number please? Even looked on vagcat and I can only find the non VR6 cap. Any ideas please? :scratch:

Any 16v, G60 or 8v Corrado driveshaft should fit. I think. G60 ones, well one of them is thicker and stronger apparently. Its just the VR6 ones which are different due to the length. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will pop up soon to confirm.

JBL GTO6425e - 4x6" Speakers These are a direct fit on the rear of a Corrado (parcel shelf supports) and require no cutting or modifying of the shelves to fit (wiring spade connectors will need playing with though). These came with my current VR6 and I upgraded to Alpines more or less straight away. If I'm honest these are better than the alpines I fitted, but I'm an Alpine whore. :bonk: Approximately 6 months old, 3 months of that they have been sat in my cupboard so they work as new. Really hard to get hold of now as the JBL speakers have changed designs and won't fit in a Corrado without cutting and modding. 40w RMS and 120w Peak. Apologies for the iPhone crappy quality. £15 posted.

I've followed the correct alignment procedures.. By closing the sunroof manually, then removed the sunroof motor, pushing the switch so the motor free wheels all the way back and then pushing the switch so it goes forward all the way. I've used the full closure to do the same just in case. I've tried this countless times with no effect. I've tired doing the opposite by having the sunroof in its current open position and then removing the motor, winding it fully back and reattaching; it then wont fully shut. I've tried opening the sunroof with the motor, manually winding back with the motor still attached to where it should be, but then the motor wont budge (electronically - it's pushing on the closure switch within the motor gearing) - manually wind it forward again and it the motor works as usual. There is no friction in the mechanical mechanism at all. I've even gone as far as closing the sunroof and then removing the motor to inspect the motors internal mechanism to see its final gearing position when its closed. I then refitted the motor, opened the sunroof then removed the motor to inspect the motor mech gearing position when open; I then removed the motor and operated it in the fully open and fully closed whilst inspecting the internal mechs gearing only to find out it matches the exact position of the gearing when the motor was attached top the sunroof so I know it's motor/relay related and not sunroof. Like I say, It's literally like there is a timing on the motor/relay to not travel as far as it actually should. Both motors I have act this way. I've even tried taking the negative off the battery to see if anything reset. Nada! I'll get some pictures tomorrow of what I mean as reading this back is confusing!

As the title, I have a fairly big (6x7") Green induction filter suitable for a VR6 engine. It has a 3" outlet so bangs straight onto the MAF nice and tight. Makes a great induction roar, especially on full chat. I just prefer the quieter life nowadays and have gone for a replacement panel filter. Only downside is a small 50p-ish sized section where it's rubbed. Nothing too major to worry about. £50 posted, offers are welcome Located in Sheffield for collection if you'd prefer.

Corrado (any model) IN.pro Crystal Rear Lights These have been professionally tinted orange on the normally clear upper half. Come complete with the bulb holders. Little update on this.. Changed the motor for another one both I have are part numbers: 3A0959731B.. They are of a different design regarding the mechs but have the same part number on the motor. Anyway, still the same issue. I've had the sunroof motor mechanisms in pieces and it seems to me that the motor relay's wont let it slide back as far as it should... In short inside the motor unit there there is a gearing mechanism which turns multiple cogs, one cog in particular has a two noggins which when rotated, these noggins touch a single switch. So effectively when the sunroof slides forward the cog is rotated one direction until one of the noggins hits the switch; stopping the sunroof when it's in the closed position. Then when the sunroof slides backwards the cog rotates the other direction until the 2nd noggin hits the switch which should be in the open position. Mine for some reason stop just before the open noggin hits the switch, there is obviously some sort of timing mechanism too, which activates before hitting the switch. Bizarre. Any thoughts?

Dark Mettalic Red (Bordeaux Pearl Effect??) spotted in Ladybower Inn, Sheffield. Looked standard and mint in the sunny weather!

Probably down to product development and design. The interiors are probably a good 10 years apart. Meaning 10 years of improvements will be applied. The corrado seats may in fact be smaller and more puny but they might offer better ergonomics? Also, consumer preference will come into play. Maybe people in the 90's demanded more compact designs? On a personal note I prefer the sleak, simplistic Corrado Recaros over the bulky sofa type affairs in the Golf.

Thanks for the responses guys. Pretty much summed up everything. Uprating was a concern as I thought the stresses would just transfer to the next weekest link. I know exactly which pot hole, well series of pot holes killed it. One of those where by the time you realise it's there you're already going over it and you're just a passenger for the ride, and there were 3 of them in a row. :( OE top mounts and bearings it is then.
