  1. I just got my Corrado on Saturday, due to paperwork complications I haven't been able to drive her, what else am I going to do but sit on the internet after a few drinks and spend money on her, belive me I spent a lot more than that on Sunday night :)
  2. I found it helps if you log out and back in again it seems to stop.
  3. Just got a pair from them http://www.awesomegti.com/blue-tinted-wide-angle-mirrors-corrado
  4. Can you get clear/crystal US style bumper mounted front indicators? whole units or just the lenses? I might be interested if they aren't to expensive, thanks.
  5. Could I have one of these please if they are still some left :)
  6. Hi I'll take one of those VR6 liners with a red logo I think, just in case, thanks.
  7. I think it £50 if your the one that goes along to have the first one made, after that I think it's £125.00 for everone else thats why i'm thinking if someone was close and there was interest in a group buy we could get a deal.
  8. Have seen this guy on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boot-build-custom-fiberglass-sub-box-12-10-stealth-side-enclosure-OEM-space-save-/151026172867?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2329dc83c3 and his stuff looks good but he doesn't have a Corrado mold so I wondered if there was anyone close that might want to go along and have one done I'm sure there might even be some interest here for a group buy?
  9. Yep, actually I did see the other post and gave them a ring and they are coming in the best price so far and as you say excess is low/breakdown cover included £160 fully comp, although to be honest I do feel that I should get it for less still. Does anyone ever just get TPF&T instead? since I guess most any claim on a Corrado and the insurers are just going to write it off anyway so theres probably not much point claiming for anything except a total loss.
  10. Just had to vent..been phoneing round for a quote today..all ask how much NCB, fine 30years would be good I thought..not really because "you can only have NCB on 1 policy so it doesn't actually count" wtf what the point!! I am insured..ME..I have not had any accidents or claims in 30 years and some snotty school leaver is telling me "it doesn't count" And the quotes, 3 quotes from 3 companies that actually turn out to be one company (H.I.C/Adrian Flux and some other flux something or other) each one offering me the same insurer but with 3 different prices, none of which are in the slightest bit competative... so then I tried the "Classic car" insurers, no difference there either so far.....jez compare the market.com gave me prices that were just as good as these so called "specialist" I really really hate insurance companies.
  11. Would have to agree with this, OE on a 20 year old car to me just means a lot of stuff is needing to be replaced and , no disrespect to Storm owners but it's just a badge any leather equiped car is exaxtly the same and paying more for one is just daft unless of course you can't live with out a Mystic Blue car there is no reason to buy a Storm over any other VR as far as I can see.
  12. I would steer clear of powder to be honest while it is very effective at puting out a fire, it's dangerous for the health, yours and the car, the powder is extremly cancerous and will also quite likely kill your engine if ever used foam is I would think a better option or CO2 for anything electrical.
  13. "If things went missing on it, then I am sure they would never notice : )" I wouldn't bet on this I had a MK2 Golf which was written off some years back and I removed some small bits here and there and got a phone call telling me to put them back or they wouldn't pay out!!
  14. I have had a lot of experience useing Denso tape at sea as a commercial fisherman protecting joints/pipes/threads whatever and you cant beat it really for protection against the elements, it's quite easy to use, just wrap it on forget about it, it should stay on and last for as long as you need it to and when you do remove it everything is as good as the day it went on fantastic stuff.
  15. Just saw this line in a Corrado For Sale advert - "Stunning classic car.Not like alot of scrap out their, that i sold due to issues" . Makes me really trust the seller....:)
  16. Lack of indication at roundabouts is one of my real annoyances, personally I would put 'indicator cams' at all roundabouts and have a fixed £100 fine and 3 points for every driver not indicating, and a lot of cyclists i've seen are frankly accidents waiting to happen they seem to have no respect for any other road users and actively put themselves in harms way by reckless behavior and ignoring basic road safty and rules. Women are 'statisticly' less likely to be involved in insurane accident claims (hence why their insurance has been lower up till now) that does not however mean that they are 'better' drivers more likely they don't claim since most of thier accidents are of a more minor nature and the figures don't show the causes of accidents either and as said women do sometimes leave a path of distruction in thier wake and drive on oblivious. People should be more angry at the insurance companies because they are just useing the whole situation to rip people of for thier own gain.
  17. Quick question, would it be possible to uprate the bulbs with this kit without problems? and is there any more load put on the light switch?
  18. I'm having a slight cry..thats the one I've had my eye on and just tonight emailed about it :( never mind at least I can take it of my list now :)
  19. Hi, I'm new to the forums and indeed Corrados, I've had 2 MK2 GTI's an 8v and a 16v which were both excellent then fell of the wagon a bit and bought a Calibra which I liked at first but due to what I think was an alarm problem the battery kept going flat and I soon became more annoyed with it than anything. Then work took a real hold an I have for the last few years been relagated to Transit Vans, first a couple of bangers then a new MK6 and currently a 3 year old (bought new) Mk7 so now feel it's time for some fun again and have been looking for a good 'classic' summer/special car. My first natural choice is the Golf MK2 but I see that the Corrado is within budget now and am debating weather to plump for a VR6 instead. Having spent the last few days looking over the forums i'm still undecided allthough I am keeping track of a few 'for sale' VR6's. It does seem they can be expensive to keep and of course reading through the forum people obviously are posting for help with problems so I was wondering whats the other side of the story, are there VR6 owners out there who don't really have problems? can VR6's be described, on the whole, as reliable? or are they an endless money pit of parts and breakdowns/trouble? I am willing to put up with a certain amount of problems of course, I mean any 17+ year old car will have some troubles but i'm looking for the least amount possible, I do love the GTI Golfs but maybe it's time for an upgrade?
