  1. I have a ported and polished head with piper 285 cam. Just fitted it to the car. I was expecting to see a reduction in the amount of boost backed up in the manifold, but I seem to be getting the same if not more. Cam timing marks line up to the bottom edge of the rocker cover at 0tdc (done from fly wheel) Have I missed/forgotten something? Does this cam require a slightly set up? Google didn't shed any light on the situation.
  2. I have one. But it could do with paint as the lacquer is peeling.
  3. I got mine from max rpm. Comes as a full gasket set and its a triple layered metal one
  4. Ecu relay springs to mind. It's numbered either 30 or 32 on the relay panel.
  5. Fixed leaking rocker gasket after rebuilding head this weekend. Then fitted new exhaust rubbers. Got to make new brackets for the rear hangers so I can fit new rubbers there too
  6. Fitted new head and cam. Timed everything up, may need to tweak the cam slightly and remap, but it all runs now
  7. ARZ tuning sell them. About £45 posted if memory serves me correctly
  8. The list never ends... Just as you get there something else pops up.
  9. I'm running a very small pulley on my g60. (56mm to be exact) I need a smaller belt but can't find any real info on what size to use. I currently have a 1640 6pk belt. Any advice welcome.
  10. Is the fan shorting out when powered. Check the wiring that runs to it, possibly worn through somewhere
  11. The workshop manual doesn't show a torque setting. I would suggest tightening then a bit then driving, rinse and repeat until it doesn't leak.
  12. The 3 common ones tend to be golf rallye, merc sprinter or land rover td5.
  13. That camper came up with us in convoy. Saw this before paint a fair few times. Definitely a lot of hours in there
  14. I went with jubilee clips. May also be worth investing in some silicone pipe to replace the rubber bit between the inlet manifold and isv... Mine disintegrated when I removed it
  15. If you've got a soldering iron it may be worth opening the relay up and running some fresh solder over all the joints on the pcb... That's what fails, I've done a fair few of mine instead of replacing them. Think I did a thread on how to do it on here a year or so ago
  16. Sounds very much like the ecu relay is playing up. Should be 3rd one along on the top row of relays... Numbered either 30 or 32. They were in loads of vw, seat, Audi of the same era... Would be worth a trip to the scrap yard if you have one close.
  17. I should be there. Couple of others coming up with me too all being good
  18. I have the same issue. Have had several hoses split in the past couple of weeks... Been replacing them with silicone ones as I go. I've also been losing coolant a fair bit with no signs of a leak. I get some smoke from the exhaust.. Has always been that way. Some mayo on the oil cap, could be due to the amount of water that's been in the engine bay. Will investigate when my new head and fitting kit turns up.
  19. Fitted a solid front engine mount. Acceleration is so much more aggressive than before. No more clunking noises from engine movement
  20. I believe these are the same thread as the ones in the caliper. May have a couple in a box if you need
  21. Last time I bought it from vw about £35 can't remember the part no tho. I have used pattern parts from gsf before but they're not very reliable
  22. The above doesn't apply here as g60s do not have a cold start injector. It does sound very much like s blue to sender failure.
  23. I'm after the 2 timing pulleys from the supercharger. Any one who has a duff charger and is willing to sell them ill take. Or a link to where I can get them, only able to use iPhone at the moment so Internet searches are hard work
