1. That would indeed be very pleasing. ;) Let's take a poll after you've finished up this one, then. Cheers, Redfox.
2. Looks very good. So now we need a lhd version ;) ;) ;) Cheers, Redfox.
3. The shiny thing is an addon that is bolted between the track arms, and stiffens up the movement of the track arms, so they work more in unison and more precise. The idea is, that unfortunately the track arms are only susprended or mounted, in one plane, not an upper one too. So they can move independently and in an unwished manner. To anihilate this or in other words make the front suspension and movement of the track arms more predictable and preceise, this arm, or bar, is installed. It is made either in steel or aluminium, and I chose the aluminium one, as I was told that it is much stiffer than steel. Likewise for the strut tower bars for front upper and rear upper, which I have been using for years with great satisfaction. That is also why I use front and rear anti roll bars which is stiffer, to make weight transfer to wheels more even when cornering. To a certain degree, untill one reaches the limit, then the warning before slipping, gets shorter and more abrupt. Still there's a longer way before that happens, than normal. Hard bushings also helps things to be more precise, at the cost of comfort, but that doesn't annoy me ;) At least that is what I am trying to reach with the Corrado. I did the same to my former Mk. II Golf, and it worked really well. Cheers, Redfox.

Look Mum, what the cat dragged in: Upon opening it, it turns out to be this trick little thing: I guess that Farther Santa came along this address again, and I opened it wayyyy too early ;) But the Corrado did not see it yet, so there is still a chance of wraping it in nicely ;) Cheers, Redfox.
5. Got a Christmas present for the Corrado today from Germany: Then opening it in advance (I know, naughty me ;) ), I found the cat had dragged this in: I look forward to installing it ;) I also bought this, which needs to be renovated: Cheers, Redfox ;) Cheers, Redfox.
6. No, I did not use a pressure bleeder. the old two man job. Works a treat on my own car (also abs, non edl). So, we just changed the whole front of the abs unit, plus the abs valve block too. Same problem. Must be an electrical problem, either by a bad ground, or the control unit (under the left side rear seat?) or something else? The only thing we have not changed now (in the engine compartment) is the rearmost part of the whole abs unit. Since I don't have a VW dianogstics computer, it's pretty hard to move further. Any ideas? I have been thinking a little aboout it, and as I see it, it could go like this: let's say the pressure pump went dead. I know this for sure, since I physically took it off, gave it some power and it did not spin, and the new pump did. But now we assume, that the pressure pump is still on and not touched, jsut dead. Then the ABS control unit see this and priorytates this as a severe ABS failure. This then shuts off the ABS function. That is why after we changed to a new electric pressure pump yesterday, could have brake pressure, but not all over, and it locked the front wheels. The ABS computer keeps this errorcode as it is an eprom, so even as we took off the battery of the car, it still keeps the errorcodes, thereby still see a "dangerous" ABS error, and do not turn on the ABS function. That in turn means as long as the VAG 1551 or whatever computer have not read out the errors, and they are being deleted in the ABS computer, then the error will not go away, because the car see it as if the ABS error is still there, even though the error is physically repaired. So, what can be done, is to connect a computer to read out the error codes, and delete them. then take aspin in the car, and see: 1/ if the ABS will work on the front wheels, by braking hard. 2/ if this also happens on the rear wheels. 3/ if the brakes then actually work on the rear wheels, thereby allowing fluid to pass through in a bleeding process. 4/ if the abs lamp makes anormal behaviour, like blinking, slow, fast, long etc. Am I correct is this? Cheers, Redfox.
7. I cannot look for it, as I don't have any device. Cheers, Redfox.
8. When you say bias valve, is that what is described as the pressure regulator valve, numer 5, in the Bentley manual on page 45,4? If it is, then I have already changed it for another one. Part no. 191 614 163 A. Or do you mean the valve which sits close to the rearaxle? If so, then I have taken off the feeding brake line, and it was only dripping out veeeeery slowly. I have followed the procedures for changing brake fluid as per Bentley manual. Nothing comes out at all. Cheers, Redfox.
9. Thanks, I'll look for that asap. Cheers, Redfox.
10. update: mine is also upside down with the text. They are old, since I bought them more than 10 years agi. Still scrapes terribly. Redfox.
11. okay copied over to drivetrain section. eds: electronic differential system, VW's version via abs block. Cheers, Redfox. Note: I have copied this question to drivetrain.
12. Hi all, Helping a friends 2L.16V 1993 ...P...) out, abs brakes but no eds. Been swapping the pressure regulator valve in front of the abs unit out (the one for the rear brakes. Also swapped the hydraulic pump (motor) and the pressure accumulator, but to no solving. The problem is, that it couldnt brake on the rears first. Then it developed a nonexsistent brake servo help, as the electric engine took off. Then we changed the aforementioned parts, and we have again an engine that spins, and brakes the front brakes, but won't let out any pressure to the rear brakes. Followed the ideas mentioned in the Bentley manual, but didn't sort it completely. Any ideas? Cheers, Redfox. edit: eds - electronic differential system.

Okay, got a new winterproject: It is as can be seen a grey Corrado Recaro interrior, electrically adjusted and heated. Old style interrior of course! It is worn some places, got a few nicks and a few defects, but I'll try my best to revive this great interrior. So I have something to do in the dark winterhours, while the Corrado is sound asleep, and still doing something Corrado ;) For example I miss the original wireing and fuse, so that I will have to find somewhere. The mirrorbutton was in the most ugly way replaced with one from the facelifted model, which have created a little problem, as the hole isnow slightly larger. Hmm, something must be done... Ringht now it's aclimatising indoor and then I'll order some heavy duty cleaning products... More on this later on. Cheers, Redfox (Greyfox?)..... Hmmm... Was that the interrior or the age and haircolour to come
15. Congrats on you new Corrado! Cheers, Redfox.
16. Yes we the lhd owners, want that Dogger. ;) Carbon is nice. Lhd carbonparts are even nicer ;) I for example would like the G-ladder cover in carbon, for sure ;) Ppppllleeaase ;) Cheers, Redfox.

Ah Jay, I think that you have a set already? Good, they are great in the spring! Cheers, Redfox. ---------- Post added at 07:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 PM ---------- Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Sure, it must be something with both the polishing and maybe also the specific alloy composition they are made of, that repells surface treatment. Pitty, as I like them a lot. One could go as far as painting them, and still get a nice wheel. I would have them anodised silver or gold if it came to that ;) I've looked at your refurb of your wheels, and that is truly an amazing job, well worth doing. Cheers, Redfox.

Yack! What have happened to that wheel? It must have been loads of salt or something? Anyway, I try to prevent that sort of thing happening, and my former Mk. II Golf had BBS RS001 and they were always immaculate, despite rain and so on. In this case I would have then blasted and polished and then clearcoated. Maybe the trouble youmention was, that the clearcoat would not stick to the ball polished surface. Such wheels should always be taken care od anyway. That is why cheap bling bling wheels were invented - for use in rain and snow etc. I only drive in sunny summer ;) So it may take a while before this happens. Never ever saw this before. Even the VW badge in the center, which is a plastic sticker, is totally gone. But they can still be redone! (And is worth redoing!). Cheers, Redfox.

Thanks guys! They are running with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 size 205/40-17. They are worn out now, and before I put the car to sleep, it was making wheelspin very easily ;) Not good for acceleration. anyway in warm and dry conditions, they are a very good tyre indeed. I also used some sets of Toyo Proxes T1-S and T1-R, and they are really good too. Drove through all of Europe also in heavy rain (all the way through Germany), and they grip very well in the dry and okay in rain, but no way in very cold weather and snow. Next spring I will put on an extra set of F1 tires I have in the basement, as I am well chuffed with the Eagle F1. Thinking of a Toyo 888R for track days but they have to be on an extra set of wheels. I tell you, it amazing so light theose wheels are. Sometimes it can be a bit tiresome to take wheels off and back on, if you sit in an ackward position, but with those BBS RC323, they just fly off and on with a minimum of effort. I would like though a set in 8" * 18" for the rear end. That spoke patern was made by BBS for motorsport, because it's the strongest spokedesign for a wheel. Not for loks but for lightness ans strength, which I like. They are ball polished from factory. The bolts are BBS too, and the tools for working on the centerhubs are BBS too. A couple of teasers for you Jay;) Cheers, Redfox ;)

Okay, just a small update then: I sourced a left side headlamp with lelctric adjustment, and mine was broken, plus a left side mirror: Then I cleaned the mirror and swapped it over, looking like this: Which I think is better than my old mirror glasses: Then a cleanup of the new headlamp, new brackets and a bulb: The mirror heating element works fine, and so does the headlamp and electric adjustment. And finally I cleaned up the wheels, using an asortment of Meguiars: and they are the following: A few more layers of Meguiars Gold wax makes this from just before the parts swap): and this: Cheers, Redfox.
22. At least he would get there in time ;) What is it with some women? Is a Corrado embarrasing? I think not. In fact the contrary. Cheers, and congrats, Redfox. ---------- Post added at 07:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:54 PM ---------- Ups, forgot it's an old thread ;) Hope the Corrado (and the wife) is still there ! Cheers, Redfox.
23. Consumer feedback report: Just a small update on the bracket made by Dave. I installed it, and it fits very well. Dead easy to install, and now for the conclusion: it works! No more rattleing and no more centerconsole that jumps up in your face, every time you pull the handbrake! I think it's safe to say that we all know the speedbump and pothole noise, and this is one solution that prevents it. That is some quality part. Can only be recommended as a highly needed Corrado mod, and in fact one that VW should have done themselves years ago ;) Maybe they should consult Dave instead of saying: Nah, we don't produce this and that any more, because it won't sell more cars. Well, I can only say that if they did have a propper reaction to parts and updates (like Daves), it would make me want to buy a VW again, instead of another brand. Well done Dave, and keep them comming, if it does not hinter family life too much ;) Look at the amount of visitors to this thread: 7800. I think it speaks for itself. Cheers to you Dave. Redfox ;)
24. Hello all, I have this idea to install my vdo clocks in a newer dash button surround (in which it is meant to be and also comes from), and insert the old styled heater controls and buttons into that newer model frame too. Is that possible? Cheers, Redfox.
25. Sure, as thinking the engine is nice and cool, and in reality it's burning hot, is not a nice thing. Parts are getting old (and so are we, the drivers) ;) Thanks for feedback. Cheers, Redfox.
