Phil K replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in General Car Chat
where's the outside temp probe? -
Looked very good, isn't it nice to know that we're all right in thinking the C is one of the best coupes ever made! Should have given it a whole hour though :D

People heading up from the Guildfordish/Surreyish area on the 25th - wanna arange a meeting point somewhere local and go up in convoy? -
Thinking I need one... it'll probably go faster than the full size one I've already got!
-
I'd like to know too, need more speed

My C is of the later variety but some f***** has had a front end in the past and I'm left with an early bumper... not too much of a problem but my fogs/indicators sit further back and the sides of the bumper don't meet the wheel arch as they should i.e. the leading edge of the arch sits slightly further out than the bumper :( . It'd be interesting to gather some sort of list showing al the subtle changes those Vdub gods decided were needed (pics as well would be great where poss  )

You're not running polished porsche rims are you? Have seen a very sweet vr in farnham lhd K plate same colour... where are MVS? will give him a bell about problems as could be worth my while... see you wed?

J B motors in Send did the oil filter... they also do all the work to my dad’s cars so have a good contact there... How about you? Keen to find someone that is a dub specialist with out charging the earth! Would recommend Barnett & Small in Farnham, they've always given me good prices (often with discount I think!!) they also had it for a morning to look into the misfire problem OK they didn't find out what was wrong but gave good advice and didn't charge a penny for their time :) HiAs - What colour is your VR? And do you know when the next No Rice meet is?

Ahhh... now that’s a thought... Unfortunately my C this morning decided to dump its oil all over the road! think I have about half a litre left in there! It did this last weekend too, I gave it to a garage to sort out as had the same prob the week before and thought it was just a dodgy oil filter so changed that but no use... the garage basically did the same thing and oil stopped leaking for a few days (about 200 miles) It now needs towing back to them and with some luck it might get sorted now. The oil jets out from the top of the filter (V quickly) hence I thought it was the filter, but now it's happened for a third time I've got my doubts... has anyone else suffered this? My Mk1 Golf was always giving me s**t but I honestly thought when I handed over 3K for a '94 C I'd not have constant probs!!! Beginning to lose faith in Vdubs finest...

Nice one, willing to try anything that might help it... Ht leads and earth strap tomorrow! Phil

Seems to happen in both situations its that random... last night I drove home from swindon and had no probs on the M4 but once I come off at Reading it all kicked in. If I sat at lights the engine would stall and when re-started misfired and would then clear. When this happens whilst driving the first sign is the tacho needle starts flicking up and down.

Please please can any1 help me with my corrado problems
Phil K replied to CORRADO4LIFE's topic in Archive
Havin similar probs with mine mate along with backfiring and big time loss of power randomly when warm. I went down to my friendly dub dealer and they plugged in diagnostics and couldn't find fault (checked it for free though, bless em).... soon as I sort mine out I'll let you know as it might be the same for yours :D -
hello guys having a few problems with my pride and joy... have only had her a couple of months but have had this problem intermittently since the beginning. I will be driving and suddenly it loses all power, it jerks violently, engine splutters and then it backfires V loudly. have changed dizzy cap, rotor arm, points and plugs (but not HT leads yet) it seems to happen when the engine is warm and not as much when cold... Help, don't know enough about the 16v lump and vdub couldn't find fault when they plugged in diagnostics  Thank you all for sharing your knowledge, hope I can be of use at some point...

think I'll go get my angle grinder and probably an umbrella
-
I want mine that low also... BUT I have enough problems with smashing my bumper on nearly everything that isn't perfectly flat!!! More anoying is that at some point someone has colour coded the lower spoiler (which did look very cool) and now its cracked and loses more paint everytime I forget to avoid those small bumps :x

Another problem I've found is that a small wheel can make seeing your clocks a bit tricky. I had my momo course in my Mk1 golf and it was a pain to see the rev counter and speedo... now its in the corrado and was the same size as the stock wheel so no more having to peer round the rim. Having said all that I generally look at the road and only check my speed just before I get pulled over

triffic

Dan - you're not in the reading area are you? I had a mad chase down to the A329(m) from town center about a month ago or so - Red G60 looked just like yours?
-
Up for that... always nice to have a perv over other peoples dubs! some directions would be ideal :D

That sucks, was also thinking of joining but for £15 and bad press I think I'll be spending my cash on parts for my C!!! Would like to hear any positive views (if any?) as could still be swayed...
