Are you sure it's not a Volvo ;) :lol: Seems odd... some coutries do require side lights to be on constantly though and I wonder if it could have been wired up like that for that reason? Do the rears light too?

I asume it's the same on both the 1.8 and 2.0 engines? Will have to have a nose around tonight and have a look for lose wires/bad conections... Can the sensor fail and be replaced? (just in case there isn't anything obvious)

Bit of an odd one this... I normally use the MFA for the oil temp reading but recently it's been acting up! It will read from cold up to 70 and will then start showing random numbers like 54,62,50,80,72 etc if you flick away from this and go back to it it will have jumped to where (I guess) it should be like 90 and other times it just reads --- Any ideas? I'm guessing it's going to be a faulty sensor but wouldn't have a clue where it's located or if there could be wiring problems between that and the MFA? All help appreciated :D

Got mine wired up by Tim at The Phirm... only took him about an hour and a half - which was a much better option than me having a go and having an electrical fire :lol:

The upsetting part is that I know it was her as she was sat in her car with the door open when I popped back to my car to get my mobile... I decided that there was plenty of room down that side of the car and it was unlikely that she'd have hit my door plus I was in a hurry and didn't have time... so when I got back to my car again ready to go home i thought I'd have a quick look and sure enough there was the dent :( I'm always so paranoid that this kind of thing could happen and the one time I don't check it does! Gutted doesn't come close to how i feel - especially with E38 round the corner and all the work I've been putting in to get it as minty as possible :( My Mrs Dad works for Surrey Police and I've asked hm if it's likely there would be any recorded CCTV footage and he said it'd be unlikely that the operators would have seen an old lady getting in a car and hit record in case of a small dent - so really all I can do is take it on the chin and deal with it... the company car will be used from now on when any car parks or street parking are likely!

:lol: I wouldn't want any bashing to be done - unless it was the very same puke green Micra driver that has cost me at least £65! ;)

mike_g60, have spoken to Norman this morning and he seems confident (no pun intended) that he can sort the dent out - the only thing he can't do is the paint but tbh I'm happy to leave it with a bit of touch up until I can afford to get the rust sorted and the car blown over... so all good so far :) Should hear from him at some point this week to make further arrangements... Cheers for the name and number!

mike_g60, Were they on the crease and do you have a number for the company you used? Feeling a bit more positve about this now... and have just found a company after a quick google search - Repair Magic and have asked them for a quote - should get a call tomorrow morning with some luck...
