  1. timmaaah, 8) would you like a Corrado with your dirt sir?
  2. Nice one Phil - keep us posted 8)
  3. I know what you're saying mate - I just don't think it will give the right image to my clients and at the end of the day the Passat although slower due to the extra weight will be much the same in terms of ride... still not driven the new Golf though so should prob blag a ride in one of them too 8)
  4. You're right and I can't remeber what they are exactly but the Pissrat still has more... having read up on the specs the Mundano doesn't even come with alloys but it does have cruise control - which I like... the other problem is they do a low cost sat nav package with a small mono screen and I know that the lease company/my new boss will go for the lowest cost! VW do three options but even the basic one has a large colour screen and a 6 disc glovebox mounted changer... (and you can't forget the funky LED rear lights  ) Anyway, I've just been looking at the Laguna on Renaults website and it doesn't look all that bad... the big bennefit is that it will have climate control along with the colour LCD sat nav and the intrior/exterior has recently had a face lift - the only thing that puts me off is that my Dad is planning to get the estate 205bhp sport with full leather and sat nav so I'd always be reminded that mine was in fact carp... might as well go blag a test drive though :D
  5. Yeah.. it won't be quick - the LX with the 1.9 TDCi engine has a whole 90bhp  The Passat will have 105bhp - still less than I'm used to but it's deffo making me wanna stay with VW 8)
  6. plus the water that gathers in the roof gutters and runs down your clean windows as soon as you drive off
  7. You're sure that wasn't car thieves?
  8. Getting down to clean the front spoiler - which in my case is colour coded, cracked and covered in stone chips  Oh, and remembering to raise the spoiler to clean underneath it... I used to keep my mk1 golf much cleaner than I keep the C but then I was 20 when I had that and had more energy when it came to buffing 8)
  9. Front spoiler might just be asking for trouble... i.e. too expensive and regularly hitting the road :? Would look cool though... I'm still keen on the rear spoiler too 8)
  10. Gutted for you! Hope you make a full and fast recovery and find a replacement C soon :(
  11. hmmm.... might go and have a look at the mondeo this afternoon then - I'm just not sure I can live with the blue oval but at the end of the day it's all about how comfortable/fun it is to drive - not what it looks like :?
  12. As for milage I'll be doing 40-50K a year so although the golf could be more entertaining I'll prob go for the passat for the comfort... plus it's got funky LED lights and an electronic handbrake 8) The only extra I'm aloud is sat nav - not complaining about that though :D
  13. That was a different job... many fingers many pies ;)
  14. Got offered a new job today :D I'll be working for a company that do temopary power, lighting and plumbing for construction sites... my role will be to develop working relationships with their existing contacts (contractors) and make new contacts while looking for new business opportunities and managing existing projects... I have a choice of 4 cars: VW Golf 5D 1.9 TDI S VW Passat 4D 1.9 TDI S Ford Mondeo 4/5D 2.0 LX TDCI Renault Laguna 5D 1.9 DCi Expression I drove a new Passat this afternoon and they are very nice so I think this will be what I go for but I'm interested to see if anyone has any veiws on my other options...
  15. Hello and welcome... looks like you have your work cut out with that one - would be nice to save it though 8)
  16. I quite like the look of those tail pipes tbh :?
  17. I'd be up for one of these if the price was right 8)
  18. Brrrrrr... poor thing! You mean you don't keep it wrapped up in a heated garage

    Tuning 2.0 16v

You can get quite a bit extra out of the 16V engine but it will cost a lot more than tuning a G60... have a chat with Flusted and Phil (not me) on here - they've both got healthy BHP from their engines KR and 9A... HTH
  20. Ah yes... well done my dear Watson another mystery solved 8)
  21. Were the h/light surrounds colour coded Jim or is it just the pic?
  22. This is what does my head in the most - you wash it drive it up the road and then you may as well not have bothered in the first place... I'm not driving the C now it's clean and when I went back to my folks this morning it's covered in ash from someones garde fire  chaz g60, like the winter rims dude... do you have some steelies for summer use ;)
  23. I think due to the amount of threads listed above and the fact it's now covered it's time to lock this up 8)
  24. Phil - I'm in for some if you find them 8)
  25. How longs it been now since you were behind the wheel? I bet you can't wait to have it back 8)
