This is simply best piece of advice if you want to search for anything on any forum or site, not only this one. It's hard to get into this, but once you catch how it works is priceless. Another thing I've noticed about new forum look (which I do like) is once I click on the main forum header there is no way to list forum categories. Usually the snail trail would be there but it just shows: Search -> Posts In order to list forum categories I had to click any post and then click snail/trail saying Forum. Not sure if I'm explaining it well. It may be just that second bottle of cider did the trick :) Anyway, great stuff Andi and whoever was involved for all the hard work (new forum donation also done, partially thanks to mr lobitos :)

And if you are still having problem searching go to your web browser and type this into URL address bar: site:the-corrado.net 2.0 16v iddle issue It will use google search to crawl this forum for answers you seek. Ps. I had problems with ISV in my valver but they were diif to yours my car would simply cut out. New ISV and problem is gone.

I used a thin long knife and after 15 mins of swearing it worked. Old glass is suprisingly hard to brake an also plastic was quite flexible for me. It looks like an impossible tasks but is doable with a bit of patience and a long knife.

aha... someone mentioned depreciation, there you go: http://www.motoring.co.uk/free-car-valuation/best-car-for-depreciation?utm_source=taboola And look what brand is at the top of the list :) Anyhow followed full valuation of my car and according to that website my car is worth £380 in private sale... hmm how about no! :bonk: And you say prices are going up

Not actually interested in an engine but it would help others if you tell us where you're based?

I've noticed a strange thing with my Members Gallery thread ( http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=72057&highlight=lucasrado ) In the past I was able to go to my first post hit Edit -> then Go advanced -> and then I was able to change topic of the thread and also add / remove bits from the original first post. Nowadays, I can still edit my post when it comes to title, but the content box with all text, pictures etc is turning completely blank. So by pressing "Save" I would most likely loose it all. Any idea why this is happening? I can go and edit other posts I made on the forum and it preserves all my text but not on that particular one from Members Gallery thread. I suspect it could be down to either too much text/photos there already? Could that be the case? Anyone have similar problems? ps. I've tried editing this very post and no such problems as it "remembers" my original text in the post. So maybe it is too much text in my Members Gallery post.

Fox and Grapes would get my vote and I also prefer weekends. But if others prefer weekdays I'll make do.

You can count me in, just name time and place! Ah and yes, welcome on the forum DiamondTon :)

Try Brentacre insurance maybe. They were extremely helpful so far. Having said that they refused my online quote, but when I rang them it was totally different story. No problems at all. I'm 32, no speeding tickets or accidents, yadi yada. I did swap EU licence for UK one few years ago. I got it down to £615 comp + 5yrs NCB protected, business mileage and any visual mods allowed (just cannot increase BHP over, I think it's 150bhp. They are nice company, this year I renewed with them and it dropped from almost £900 to £615. Mind you I removed breakdown cover as I purchased AA separately. Keep trying, insurers are thieves by design. Until UK law will not start properly regulate this madness we all are gonna get rip off.

Wow... what happened to gear stick gaiter? Looks like an angry dog chew on it :) Nice motor just need some love, what's mileage on it btw? Ah and I love your wheels! My under body pump was extremely loud when the in-tank pump failed. It would drive ok'ish but would intermittently cut out on me - especially when low on fuel. I'm sure it will shorten lifespan of your under car pump if the one in-tank is not working correctly.

Two new mirror glass arrived for both sides so time to get it fitted... Was toying with idea of re-using original backing plate. So below is what I managed to do... Popped the mirror (it's easy when you tilt it as much up or down as possible then use thick ruler or kitchen spatula) Then bend the pins on new mirror - kind of self explanatory Here you can see fitted new mirror into original backing plate. I had to make two new holes for the pins. It fits perfectly. Driver side was a bit of fiddly but passenger side was a dream. I think these ebay mirrors are slightly different size or maybe VW backing plate was 0.5mm smaller (it's not an issue thought). Also it's possible to remove original mirror from backing plate without damaging it.. just take your time and long thin knife. I was surprised how flexible that backing plate was, even after so many years it flexes as new. So need to be super gentle there. ... and fitted to my car. Easy job. As usual I took my time, cleaned everything and was taking pictures so took me maybe an hour - but can be done in 30 mins easily. Well, all working fine now. It's a very easy job even for people with two left hands. So if your mirrors need replacing ebay's your friend. ps. Also thanks to people who posted their attempts at replacing mirrors before (Leon263, Billcor and others).

******* wanna-be-Beckham neighbour strikes back! Was watching GP qualification and then bang, I heard broken glass. Looked through the window and saw little brat running away. He kicked the ball, hit the mirror and glass fell off, obviously smashing to bits. As much as I can see no damage to assembly just the glass so ordered one from ebay - that's not a problem. I went to his house and approached his parents. Told them (maybe too much) but don't give a **** anymore. Perfectly nice bank holiday weekend ruined by little faker. Now then, question time... Can I drive without drivers side mirror? I mean, we planned to go to Knaresborough tomorrow (it's not far - 15miles miles one way, that's all) but can I get done by police if they saw me without a mirror glass? I know it's unsafe but can I get a ticket or what my defense is if anything? Or better not risk it and don't drive at all, until Wednesday?

Never done it before, but read somewhere that long ruler is good or as explained here... http://volkswagen.msk.ru/body/mirror_90-92.pdf

Thanks guys. Just wanted to let the world know that my car hit this on the way back from Stanford Hall: Temps look good, MPG looks also good, car drives good, doing 70 and making photos not so good...but couldn't miss 130k photo could I? :)

Show was simply great, just can't get better than that. It all begun on a early Sunday morning and quickly developed into a nice convoy: Some time later we all arrived on amazing Stanford Hall grounds and well this happened next: More photos available on my usual Google+ profile available here: >>> click to see Many thanks to all that made it happen. Grats to all winners. Some cars are simply out of this planet. Hope to see you very soon.

Not fussed, probably sooner the better, so we can meet at Wooley Edge. Then we could call at Kip/Judith place and go all together? What you think? Alternatively after Wooley we can all meet at Trowell (to simplify things). Obviously as we all love to be punctual whatever happens we have to be at Kip's the latest at 6am. I don't mind setting of slightly earlier just to make sure we all gonna be on time. I'll PM you my phone number. -

Kip, me and my misses can join up with you guys as it's on our way more-less. What time you're planning to set off from your place? -
VW Estorils are such a good looking wheels, they suit Corrado perfectly... I'm jealous! :) Planned to treat my car with the same but fixing mechanical issues is depleting my wheel fund.

Time for some long postponed updates. My problem with idle is completely gone. It was in the end the ISV. Cannot explain why after replacing ISV this issue appeared once... but only once. I've just done over 2000 miles of daily motoring and it's been all fine. Idle is perfect, no issues with starting the car regardless of engine warm or cold, so it's all good news for me. Also finally replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder in a final bid to get rid of the "sticky" clutch pedal. It's worked it's magic and another problem is no more. Part was ordered from German VW and was not cheap (£140), but it's OK now and well that's what counts. Another small thing (thanks to Kip) I have rear speakers working too. I know little thing but it's also fixed so why not be happy about it. I've also done full service on my car today and it's ready for Stanford Hall. Only thing that was picked on today's service was center part of my exhaust is blowing a little. I booked my car again for Friday to get it fixed just before the trip.

Ooo nice, I'll take them if that's OK. Was just thinking the other day my pads need replacing. I'll be coming to Stanford Hall as well so can collect.

Hmm, was it the one without any badges and with badge-less grill? If so spotted the same one today driving to Killingbeck Asda - waves exchanged too. Also yesterday, coming back from Newcastle, I saw blue Storm in Leeds - also exchanged smiles, etc.. Seems winter gone Corrado's popping out here and there. Happy times...

Yup all best. I still remember your number, so will be checking your progress ;) Think you're the only vr6 powered runner out there so it can only be a good thing. Good luck.
