Brand New Silver Rear 16v Badges *Only One Left*
guildmage replied to CazzaVR's topic in Parts for Sale
Badge received. All as described... thanks. -
Right at beginning when I bought my rado, started making this fantastic plans to do this and that. Some time after that got drunk and was crawling flebay for some wheels... and almost bought this nice set of Speedlines, can't remember what stopped me back then from buying them. In the morning I realized my valver is 4 stud and these Speedlines would simply not work. From that moment when I'm drunk I do not go to shopping sites anymore ^^

Brand New Silver Rear 16v Badges *Only One Left*

I'll take one as well. Have a brand new red one, ready to replace my worn chrome one... but me thinks chrome version looks better. ps. send me PM with payment details. Thanks. -
Red one today, around 13:00, Bradford inbound, could swear reg plate started "J5 ***". Was going other direction, only saw you for a split second. You here?
-
Thanks, well I imagine the original sticky thing yes, you could re-use but in my car someone completely bodged it. There was a mix of gaffa tape, masking tape, some strange hard glue and only remains of original sticky stuff. So replaced it all with butyl tape - it's as close to original thing as I could see.
-
Aye, mine also ordered. Thanks for all the effort man.

Nice, hat's off if you can remove door-card without opening the door (and not breaking it in process). Seriously some ace skills. Today I was removing my door card and I can't see any way of getting past three marked screws on sides (when door is closed off course).

The other day was investigating why my right door speaker is not working, so stripped the door card and was presented by this nightmare... Decided, while I'm at speaker issue I will re do the door membrane at the same time so collection of parts began. I've used following parts: Butyl tape roll strip + gaffa tape Heavy duty (1000gauge) polythene sheet New speakers Pioneer TS-G 1322I (nothing fancy, but I have no amp so it will do just fine) Speaker connectors - as didn't wanted to chop original cables Today I've carried the work. Nothing difficult there, maybe except removing old sealant - it was right pain to remove tbh. New membrane fitted nicely, I even made myself a template from cardboard :) Put the new sealant around the whole door and then gaffa taped on the outside - just in case. Then fitted new speakers, connected them up, put back the door card and refitted all trim. All worked perfectly ... I had a moment of panic as my window would not move on the button, dunno what happened there, but after 10-15 minutes it decided to work again. Quite happy with the work, can't comment on membrane yet but the speakers seem OK.

Great stuff, can't wait :)

I like the flat boot floor :) Sorry for silly question... is there going to be any grill or something to protect the sub ? Or you will never have shopping items in your boot ?
-
Think this through properly and don't rush into anything. I've learnt the hard way. Bought my car with standard grill so shortly after that, bought FK badgeless grill, put it on... after a week put it back to OEM grill as I couldn't stand the look of it. Then decided to have a at least black VW badges - bought rear and front and then fitted it, after a week went back to chrome versions anyway. I spent some money just to have my car as it was in first place (sigh). Should have used Photoshop to check it out first, instead of impulse buys

Just for MOT its maybe a way, but then ultimately it is my life on the line in the long term :( It would be nice to have a working ABS...
-
Gosh don't envy you. I spent little fortune trying to fix similar issue. My ABS light is also ON most of the time, but there are days when it works just fine. Also same re-appearing issue on vagcom: rear ABS sensor and supply voltage. Was also told by 2 different mechanics it possibly need new ABS pump, and that new pump would be +£1200 - but no clue what real price is. Sorry couldn't be more helpful but I will be watching this thread with great interest. Can I also ask, is your ABS light usually OK, after long drive and then switch off engine take keys out and then put them back and start engine again? Mine usually is, but only after longer drive. I was lucky on my MOT since ABS surprisingly worked fine, so I passed, but I know I have to get it fixed sooner or later.

My pics sent just now...

I seem to have a similar symptom. For a long time I thought the knock comes from within the drivers door. But stripped the door over last weekend and nothing in there. So I am thinking it comes from behind rather than side. I can replicate it usually when slowly going forward (on neutral) and then braking to stop (not aggressively just normal stop). Also seem to happen when, accelerating or going over a pothole. Not always tho. I had rear bushes replaced few months ago + front bushes and top mounts, also front shocks etc... so I am bit worried as to what could be causing it. Also, handling of the car seem not to be affected at all. Not sure.. will be taking it to garage on Friday I think - it seems over time it got worse.

Full JL Audio TR Sound System Upgrade Group Buy
guildmage replied to EJ Taylor's topic in Forum Group-Buys
My right door speaker stopped working the other day. It occasionally works but very quiet and flat... stripped the door card today to check for any wire issue but all looked good. I'm still running original Nokia speakers tho, so I bet it's just down to it's age. For that reason, if the price is right I could be also interested in a set. Just roughly what kind of price bracket we talking about? Also, how this new speakers would connect. I'm complete noob ICE wise, I suspect original plug won't work with new speakers. -
ok, also make sure you know all passwords to all sites you're accessing... cause that will also get lost during re-install (I think)

Chrome -> Settings -> Bookmarks -> Bookmark Manager -> Organise -> Export Bookmarks to HTML file ... ...or login with your gmail account and sync bookmarks to google cloud once and for all :)
-
Nah mine drop downs look ok. There is something not right with yours tho. Disable that SiteAdvisor extension, and restart Chrome. Also, are your drop downs fine in Internet Explorer? Maybe try to un-install Chrome and re-install again? edit: Forgot to ask if your bookmarks synced with your gmail profile. Cause if not... export them first!

and if you go Chrome -> Settings -> Extension , what's Enabled there ?

I use Chrome on my win7 at home and work, also on my GF macbook (snow leopard) and on most of windows servers (2003 and 2008 ) I manage through work. Never seen any problems you are experiencing. Are you sure it was dodgy Chrome update? It could be just some sort of odd toolbar you got installed by mistake or some sort of broken add-on/plugin? Hard to say, could be anything. In IT world anything is possible tbh. I'm also running version 23.0.1271.64 m. Could you make a screenshot of your expanded drop-down menus?

...and to do that you can: * Go to Start (Windows icon) -> All Programs -> Startup (and just delete all shortcuts there) * Go to Start (Windows icon) -> In search field type "msconfig" -> Startup tab -> and you can also disable from there any software you think should not be running on startup Additionally, go to Google, search and download software called Defraggler (it's free). Get it installed and defrag your system/data drive. Defraggler is much better than windows defrag but in effect does the same thing. You can also, download software called Ccleaner and clean your registry and generally whole system of unused drivers, etc... but please be wary as you may remove something that should not be removed! In the end no matter what you do, you will never get this PC to its former glory - the only way to do it - is by doing clean re-install of the Operating System... that is the way of Windows I'm afraid :(

That is so very true. There is nothing better than Malwarebytes check every now and then. It finds "stuff" than no other antivirus will. Think you may just experienced a glitch with restoration process. If things working fine now, leave it as is. You should still make sure you backup all your data! Especially before doing any other system restoration in future :) ps. Additionally to check for any odd errors you may want to open Event Viewer and check System and Application section.

He got the early model, one with sliders instead of late model circle ones. I paid not so long ago £45 just for a late centre console in almost mint state (just one tab broken). When it comes to dash, it seems most money can be made on ABS light, headlight switch and that crappy centre console (late model).
