Dropping mate after work, found this beauty in Leeds... ... 16V, on Sebrings and grey leather. Looked like a nice example, anyone here?

oh hey... re-read this whole thread again and ofcourse you're right. It was already posted by Andi... ehh there are some days one would wish to read more with understanding not just read for the sake of it :)

Just found a nifty way for searching our forum using short keywords. Let's try to search for something really tricky, like: ABS on my g60 As you can see all keywords are less than 4 characters and it will be hard to get some results. As "Walesy" suggested we can cheat a little and try something like: ABS* on* my* g60* Adding the "*" will in many cases help in search but in our example, there is just too many short keywords anyway. Now then, we can use Google engine to find us what we need! So let's have a look at example: >>> click me As you can see there are some very promising results. Pretty cool ha? ...or boring and way too techy? Anyhow, if you need to search for a short keyword and you're stuck.. well there is a way. * had to use lmtgfy.com website to show you how to use it, due to forum wrapping the syntax in tags. Couldn't figure out how to do it any other way.

ooo, I like that sentence

Topics about car insurance are always boiling my blood! Hate the fact they will suck every penny out of you, without giving you much in exchange. I could never understand how come insurance premiums raise if every year politicians bloat about reducing amount of accidents on the roads. I've been driving for 12 years now (not a single accident - and hope it will stay that way) yet my premium keep raising every year! How is that even possible? We are all being scammed in the most cunning way every invented! The other day I read that it is the uninsured drivers causing all the increase... but as I said before... If you are caught as uninsured driver = you should pay £1000 or prison for 6 months. If you are caught second time, your car gets destroyed, you pay £5000 or prison for 12 months. Simple! After a year or two, I kid you not, there will be no uninsured drivers left! Harsh? Don't think so! Harsh is the fact I almost pay the value of my car every year as insurance! ps. On a side note, it's always been that adding my girlfriend to my policy was reducing the price in the end.

This forum is great... a noob like me, can get information in no time and usually get things fixed this way or another. Regarding searching the information, I know by my example I always try to search first, but then sometimes your search returns like +10 pages of information... but at the end you feel more confused than ever. These are the times, a simple question post (be it repeated for 90th time) is just only solution. Some people have just talent of spotting the obvious straight away... instead you can spend hours on search and still be nowhere. On a side note, I could never understand why someone would NOT like to be member of CCGB. First of all you are officially part of Corrado club, then you get goodies through post (magazines, air fresheners, imba looking membership card, etc...). You can attend any show you like, you get another source of information... and to be completely honest, the payment for membership is like nothing! I mean we all spend more on booze every weekend. Blimey we own Corrados, it cost us fortune in petrol and repairs... cost of membership is virtually nothing, lol

Wipers working again. Got parts on Friday (thanks to g60knight) and swapped them this morning. All fit like a dream. ...and while we're happy again, a quick photo from Knaresborough - Autumn on it's way.

Wanted to say many thanks to g60knight for sorting me out with wipers assembly and motor. This is second time I received package from him. Two times hassle free sale/delivery. Great at communicating and goods delivered when requested, would definitively recommend for any purchases in the future. Cheers man

Hehe, today was a light rain so I had no choice than to use kitchen spatula to help me use the wipers. It was a nightmare and right embarrassment when trying to force wipers to go back while driving. I'm sure other drivers thought I'm crazy... well maybe I am. Last night I've looked into mechanism and all looks OK so it has to be the motor. Just need to survive till Friday somehow... or finally get a second car. But I'm afraid the moment I'll buy a second car, Corrado will see less and less of driving, and that is not the reason I bought it in first place.

Stolen Headlights - Medwaycorrado . Help needed.
guildmage replied to dumptyboy's topic in Off-topic Chat
What a pr*ck this guy is. If he's been caught red handed he should show at least half decency, say sorry and send the headlights/money next day. Case closed, everyone would be happy, in time everyone would forget about it. Simply saying he is a thief and a liar! I'm sorry for you dumptyboy, I do hope you will get your headlights back this way or another... I would pressure this guy to the end by any means necessary even if there is little chance of getting headlights back. There are plenty of legal ways of making his life miserable.. one just wonder how many other people he cheated that way!? what a scum! -
shiney  I'm following this thread with great interest. Think what you're doing is amazing. Wish I had fraction of your skills and commitment. Anyhow, keep it up man :)

I was holding myself from trying to value this for you due to fact I have never bough a PC in one go and also never sold one as a whole unit. So I am only familiar with parts prices... CPU new is worth around £100 new. So 2nd hand - well less than that ofc (probably around £70-80 if you are lucky) Graphic card is worth around £150 new, but second hand you can buy for just under £100. Case is around £70 new, but second hand: £50-60 (unless it's scratched, etc....) SSD new is £50, 2nd hand around £35-40 - to give you a better estimate I recently got my 120GB SanDisk Extreme for £55 only. Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM) you can get for £70 from Amazon. Without knowing what motherboard you have, how much RAM and Power Supply, it's hard to say about the rest. Also do you know if you have just stock cooler or aftermarket one, if so which one? I suspect you bought this from Overclockers as they list similar spec PC but with slightly better graphics, 8GB of RAM (no brand provided), 650W PSU (no brand provided) and AMD 760G chipset motherboard (no brand provided). Keep in mind, when selling a full working unit you cannot just add price of the parts together. Whole unit will always be slightly more expensive, as it will come with Operating System and well all bits already assembled. But this should give you a rough estimate... sorry couldn't be more helpful. It's one thing to sell PC as one unit, and it's a different story to get it part by part. Think it's only Corrado's that are worth more in parts than as a whole unit (sic) :( What I'm saying you should price it up more than just price of parts.

On my wanted thread Jim posted this: http://www.vwsonline.co.uk/car_parts_bristol/vw/golf/golf3/electrical/front-wiper-motor-golf-3-vento-golf-4-bora-01-passat.html Anyway, I am sorted as it seems, should have motor and assembly by Friday. Was thinking about as to why my motor would fail this year... and it has been used almost every day this year, as it was raining all the time in Leeds starting from early April... so maybe that's why. I can hardly remember using wipers so often last year!
-
As explained above, I have been already sorted with the motor and assembly - amazingly quick... should have it sorted by Friday (fingers crossed). Thanks anyway for help!
-
Hehe, funny you said that. As I took spatula, from kitchen , to my car. This was supposed to extend my arm in case I'm gonna have to help the wipers while driving! It's driving me mad this! Been driving to see customer today in Bradford and had to use wipers. Even with OEM ones back in place it stopped working! I'm basically desperate to get new motor, made a Wanted thread about it. But if I'm gonna buy second hand it is also going to be 15+ years old surely? New ones are either obsolete or cost like £100! I'm totally stuck and a bit irritated, but hey ho... have also a bad day at work.
-
edit: Been offered through PM, assembly and motor so I am sorted for once very quickly. Thanks for quick replies guys. Interesting to see that vwsonline website got some Corrado parts... will save it for future. Hi guys, I am in urgent need of a new wiper motor for my front wipers! You can see why I am so desperate by looking at my thread about it: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?77278-wipers-mechanism-motor-issue My existing motor part number is: 1H0 955 119 , and that is the motor I am looking for. Not sure if best for me would be to buy just motor or motor with assembly. This depends on price difference, etc... I just want to get it sorted ASAP! Can you help?
-
Obviously this things never happen on Friday so that you have weekend to sort it out. It actually always have to broke down on Monday.. grrr. I don't mind taking it all apart and even get a new motor if it's going to fix it, but meanwhile I have no choice than to drive without wipers. It's, a scary experience I have to say. On my way from work (tonight) was just a super light rain and it was a visibility nightmare! I have rainx all over my windshield but it doesn't really work in city driving. I loved my wipers so much, it's strange how easy you take simple things for granted. I also have a lot of driving to do in the morning tomorrow.. I'm considering putting old wipers in place for time being.. who knows it may be fine (will buy me some time to source a new motor). Speaking of, any ideas where to hunt for new wiper motor? ebay prices seem incredible at times? I'm always terrible at sourcing parts. edit: After swapping back to OEM arms/blades there are no problems at all! I can use wipers on slowest/quickest setting and all is as should be. You think getting a new motor would help then (with uprated ones)? Sorry to be pain in the neck...
-
At first I though't it's problem with the mechanism (out of sync, or sth) but when blades not touching screen it's fine. So could it be just motor that just had enough... but it has been fine for 12+ months I was driving with uprated wipers. I need to sort this out ASAP as it's quite dangerous to drive without wipers. Could simple motor replacement fix this? If so, where I can get such motor anyone any ideas? Part number on my motor is: 1H0 955 119 ps. I still have OEM arms/blades I could swap ... but, you know would be nice to get the uprated ones sorted really ;)
-
So far checked that 13mm nut on both arms and it's as tight as it should be so don't think that could be the problem. Issue developed further since morning. Before I could ran it on highest wiper settings and there was enough momentum for the wipers to work correctly. Now, it doesn't matter what wipe speed I select, it just get's stuck all the time. I've made two videos to show you want I mean:

Hi, Something happened to my wipers today: I started my car and used my wipers (slowest setting) to remove morning water out of the windshield. It moved one way (right) fine, but on return wipers got stuck (let's say 10-15cm) from where they should be parked. Also wiper motor was making this horrible "grinding-like" noise. Jumped out of the car, and helped the wipers a bit. Wipers go back to parked position and noise also stopped. Tried few more times using wipers and all was fine. Without thinking much about it, set off to work. Used wipers few times on my way - but then on 5th or 6th time issue reappear! Wipers stuck in same place and horrible noise coming from under the bonnet! Stopped the car and helped the wipers again... Arrived work and well, this is where I am now. I can use wipers and it will most likely be fine for 3-4 times, but they will get stuck seemingly randomly. What the heck is going on? Someone had similar problem? is it just mechanism not greased properly? Any ideas? Just to let you know I have uprated arms/blades from audi TT and never had problems with it in the past!

Hmm, in advert is says: First Registered 13/01/2005 , it surely is a typo, also it says: "Mileage: 0 Miles". Going to be hard to sell this one for £2700... and no info on history either.

LogMeIn should work just fine on Windows 8, they are very good in keeping their software updated for modern operating systems. Having said that stick with Windows 7 Professional (64bit). Difference between home and professional really is down to one important difference. Professional version can be joined to your "work domain". So you can use your profile on company network, it will help with office printers and mapped drives. Home edition of Windows 7 cannot be joined to domain - and it is a bit of pain in the neck in office environment. So get yourself Professional edition and if you ever need that feature it will be there ready for you. 4GB is absolute minimum, 8GB is ideal. Anything above is a "bit-of-money-waste" unless you are doing a lot of 3D modelling, video editing or you work on massive Photoshop/Illustrator files. Generally speaking 8GB should be just fine - unless your application are extremely memory hungry - but I doubt that if you manage to work just fine using your old laptop. Dell's are nice, especially with support - but are also pricey. A very robust laptops are made by Lenovo (old IBM) - they may not win a beauty contest at uni campus - but are extremely well made and will take some abuse without braking. This you will have to buy on your own. Your new laptop will most likely come with pre-installed Office 2010 already, but it will be only demo version that will work for only 30-60 days. Intel i5 should be fine, if you need more power go for i7 (but these are pricey). There is also an Intel i3 which is a dual-core - but for something that should last 3-5 years, get yourself at least i5 which (usually is quad-core). Remember number of cores is a bit of a fairy tale if your software does not support multicore setup. Generally the older the version of software, the more chance it will not support multicore.. it is only recent software that can take benefit from it. Display If you find yourself working outside (with sun above your head or very bright rooms) make sure you will go for a screen with Matte display, not Glossy. Glossy one is perfect for home machine - but in bright environment main thing you will see on the screen will be your face and all lamps behind you! ps. When you are using PLC do you use any special interface to connect your laptop to these machines? aka: serial, parallel, USB? Or you just use network connection or LogMeIn for it? ---------- Post added at 1:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:52 PM ---------- Typical, Windows way... every second edition of OS is pants. Windows 8 - > pants (most likely) Windows 7 -> great OS Windows Vista -> pants Windows XP -> great OS Windows Me (milenium) -> pants Windows 2000 -> good but not great etc...

How many of you would do the same thing? I think I would! Not too sure if I wouldn't chicken out... but this must be one-in-a-lifetime experience. I wonder what will be next step in human achievements? Maybe Corrado mk3 - that would be something! :smug:

Hmm you can ask VW dealer... maybe at least this part is not yet obsolete. If no luck, I know vdubmachine is selling them: http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=101_102&products_id=376
