  1. Get the ATB coded G60 box mate! It´s awesome! :) I have a CBA and i hate it!
  2. My advise is to disconect all the ABS sensors and clean the electrical contacts. If the pump if deffective, and not capable to reach the desired pressure, you´ll also get the red light (!) on the cluster at the same time the ABS orange one. If you need a good working ABS pump from a 1990 G60, i can send it to you! Shipping costs? They´re cheap in Portugal! ;)

    losing oil!

Well... I´m pretty sure that this is not a normal situation. I suggest a compression test to eliminate the piston rings and valve seals leak probablility. Although piston rings are my first bet, they wear faster than the valve seals. If it´s the piston rings, don´t get sad! You only have the car for 2 weeks, and being like that, you´ll notice a huge difference with new ones! :) So, go for the compression test before anything!
  4. WOW! That´s a very nice experience! I´m going to get one of those! :)
  5. I guess that the lower viscosity at 40ºC the better for us (Corrado)? To avoid common problems like 2nd gear crunch when cold? Nice research by the way mate! :)

    Fuel Leak

    Thanks Supercharged,!!! :) Will do!
  7. mike_g60, How does the car feel now with this cam? I´m looking forward for one of these! What´s your feedback through all the rev range? What about idle? Cheers in advance!
  8. I have the VR6 voltmeter and oil pressure pod on my car. When i turn on the defrost switch for the rear window and mirrors, there is a massive voltage drop on the dial. With the car running and all electrics on i get 12v (60Amp alternator), have in mind that the voltmeter supply is connected to the cigarette lighter... I´ll route it correctly directly to the battery one of these days to get more efficient/correct readings.
  9. This is my 2nd G60 and i noticed that there´s a very small crack on the exhaust manifold like on the previous one. Is this a common failure? Why do they appear? Can they be welded? Yeah... It´s leaking...
  10. These engine mounts look like hand made and really good looking. I might get a try for them... I´m tired of the acelerator pedal massive vibration and cabin, which i cannot get rid off even with an original and expensive VW engine mount... :bad-words: Gearchange? Not a problem!
  11. I´m with Henny on this one! Anyway if you don´t get sorted by replacing the ignition switch, i can tell you that i´ve seen a similar situation. It was the fuel pump, and you couldn´t notice anything while driving. But before buying a new pump, always check its pressure on the fuel rail (easier). Keep posting! :)

    EXHAUST DILEMA

Save up some penny´s mate! Go for German made one´s on http://www.ebay.de IMASAF has a very good reputation for stock exhaust systems. Shipping costs to UK are pretty low. I´m very pleased with these for their quality, and to save some extra money for other Corrado goods! :) You don´t need to mess up with the rear axle, the exhaust comes in 2 pieces!
  13. I hate water issues on cars!!! :bad-words: They´re such a pain to fix!

    heated seats???

I have heated seats on mine. Though i never use them, as i hate the warm ass feeling... For the back they´re OK, but i get sleepy...
  15. Well, in this case, it´s obvious that you alternator isn´t able to supply enough power to charge the battery. Have you checked that thin blue wire that connects there? How´s the voltage regulator? In other circunstances i could say that you may have a fried diode inside the alternator, but this should drain you battery all the time. I would carefully check the blue wire and its connections...

    Gearbox cables

There´s a special VW tool to do this. I don´t have it, neither saw it! I did mine along with a friend, it´s not an easy job IMHO. So you should do it a day after waking up with a lot of patience! :) In the end you´ll feel very happy, because the result is great!
  17. Can the thermostat or even his housing be deffective, so it gets stuck? If so, the thermostat might not be totally opened...
  18. Let me check if i understood... You are charging the battery with a battery charger, and then you place it in the car and it´s OK while the car is stopped. But when you drive it, the battery discharges?

    Fuel Leak

I´m having a similar issue! When i start my G60 there is a massive fuel smell inside/outside the car. I have inspected the fuel rail and the hoses aswell. They seem to be OK, i cannot see any leaks at all! I wonder what could be happening...
  20. The coil is directly drived by the ECU output. It receives 12v, and when the voltage drops to 0v you get an output spark. If the coil is always getting 12v without a refresh from the ECU i´m pretty sure that it will get very hot and burn like you´re saying. On the other hand the car wouldn´t run OK... So this is a very uncomon situation... Do you have the possibilty to change the ECU to find out if this issue remains? Keep posting!
  21. I´m on my second Corrado G60. I bought it slighlty modded, but turning it completly stock. I guess i´ve had a lot a fun with all the mods i tryed up to date, i know what the car can do, how fast he goes, etc... Very impressive! :) So i decided to go all stock and original, that´s the way i like them. But yesterday i got really surprised when i fitted a complete and original exhaust system. The car runs so good! I even have the feeling that´s pulling much better in high revs! The 2nd gear pulls very well, and a can easliy get wheel spin. Is there an explanation for this? Oh... I also fitted another lambda, it´s second handed, but fully working. The problem is that this lambda was taken out from an 1.6 Golf MK3 Cabrio. Is this OK?
  22. This situation happened also on my 2nd Corrado. I thought thas it was the boot switch aswell (like on the 1st one). For my surprise, i found out that the boot light was always on... But... :!: It wasn´t the swicth! One of the bulb support was twisted and always in contact with the car ground. It might be the boot swicth! But don´t forget to check this issue! 8)
