Spoiler control Module received today from Enthusiast Owned. Well packaged, very prompt dispatch with tracking number provided!! Excellent service, thanks Rich! :thumbleft:

The problem is as said in the other thread, just doing the top bit. Don't know how you would overcome it other than masking the convex sides, which would take an absolute age for each badge and no doubt not have a very uniform edge.

I forgot...................................Sorry!!!

I kept the warning triangle from my KR when it got killed, and I tried fitting it the the VR the other week but couldn't get it in either. Admittedly I didn't try very hard, but I'm off to do some work on it this afternoon so will report back if I remember!

Test the coil at night. Spray a mist of water over it through a spray bottle, and if you can see arching then its cracked and needs replacing. Otherwise it should be fine. I think they rarely actually go wrong mechanically, its just the outer insulation breaks down over time allowing moisture to get in fubar it. Hesitation and misfiring as you can imagine are symptoms of it failing, and obviously its more prone to happen in wet weather. Its just two bolts holding it on, with two connectors. Literally a two minute job to replace it if you decide to.

Wow those bushes and pads were pretty far gone! Excellent work!

1H0 953 254E :thumbleft: Get yourself registered on Vagcat. Parts catalogue with pictorial diagrams are excellent!

Sounds awsome! Bet your itching to take it out!!! Careful for the cameras on the way home though!

If they're looking past their best and on the brink of failure, chances are that they will when your miles from home and low on funds! Preventative maintenance is always better than corrective imo. Well worth getting them and replacing them whilst your in a position to do so. :thumbleft:

I'd be in for one of the Corrado Script badges too!

Afternoon all, as some of you may know my Feb 95 registered C is badged as a Storm. It was first registered to the dealer though so I was hoping (probably to be disappointed) that it was a diplay vehicle. Ive just called VW HQ in MK to ask them, and they said that their database only goes back as far as 2000. Anything registered before it would be better to contact my local dealership, who surprise surprise, were equally unhelpful. I know others have called HQ for confirmation in the not too distant past, so does anyone know a particular department that I can ask to be put through to? as the general enquiries desk obviously cannot be bothered. Thanks folks!

Totally agree! Still recorded on series link though just like every episode of WD, even though I watch it every Tuesday night anyway!

I use white grease. Its the best thing to use on metal to metal parts that are not really under pressure and don't suffer with heat build up. Its the best thing for the gear stick mech, door hinges and sunroof mech as well mate. It doesnt attract dirt like wetter greases either so remains good for a long time.

Anyone got a link to the VW bleeding sequence please? Really want to change my fluid soon and not sure where the ABS bleed nipples are either which I also want to do. A sticky somewhere might be a good idea for it??

I changed mine last week with a GSF one, the budget one was an unknown brand I can't remember, and the premium one was Behr/Hella - which is the one I got in the end. I greased up the plastic gearing on the box after giving it all a good clean, but its still very stiff.

removing and replacing 16v warm up regulator
seanl82 replied to vagingit.co.uk's topic in Engine Bay
Very easy. You'll need a new paper gasket and O ring more than likely, but should be pence. Just a couple of bolts, and one for the banjo on the fuel line. Clamp off the fuel line first if your worried, but very little will leak out and a small amount of water will rinse it off. Bolt on new one and off you go! -

Can I have the spoiler control module posted please Rich. -
Alternator failed today, worn brushes.Where to find new ones? Thanks.
seanl82 replied to borders16v's topic in Engine Bay
When I thought mine had died on the valver, I managed to find a set of brushes on ebay of all places! You'll need the serial number of your alternator iirc, to ensure the type of brushes will fit. There was only one set though, and I looked back a couple of days later, and it was gone. Lucky for me it was just a large earth and I managed to get to the bottom of it! -
Just late and early mate. There were crossovers though with the early G60 having later parts etc....

Have a listen out for the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to position two Anne. The relays are notorious problems, so it could be the relay sticking so the pump isn't priming. That or coil pack anyway. Usually when the car is turning over ok, it points to a fuel or spark issue.
