  1. Just picked up a couple of bits for 1.8 valver. Thermostat - 056 121 113 D - £17.01! Stat O'seal - 038 121 119 B - £2.08 Stat Housing - 055 121 121 F - £7.43. Distributor seal - 027 905 261 - £10.44!! Could have picked this lot up from ECP without 25% discount from another forum for less than a tenner! On the other hand though, I have bought 2 stats in the last 3 months from ECP and both have been faulty, hence the reason I'm buying the lot from VW now! Got the dizzy seal from VW Heritage for £5.91 delivered instead.
  2. Hard to make out on that photo. What engine?, and can you take a photo from a little further back to get an idea of where it is exactly on the block.
  3. Cambelt for 4 cylinder is a little off too
  4. Get em done professionally the first time round, then just keep on top of it would be my advice. There are various kits available all over the web including egay though if you really wanna put in the blood sweat and tears!
  5. Indeed, I deffo agree with the above. I've lost count of the times I've seen fitters going in all heavy handed and clumsy, not really giving a toss as to the damage they do when removing/refitting the screens. Paint scraped off all over the place which leads to rust down the line. 9 times out of 10 its on the passanger side at the top of the screen too! :bad-words:
  6. After a trip to Gosport and back Thursday, and a weekend at the father in laws in Banbury, a total of about 750 miles without missing a beat, I gave her a quick and deserved wash. It was only quick, cos I spent 2 days detailing it last w.end including sealing and waxing so that was all that was needed. :smug:

    Oil pump

Should be ok to use the old one, just clean and inspect the gauze at the end of it.
  8. Right here we go! Actually my chav blue silicon pipes make it easier to see, the one that goes from here Goes to here. You can see two of em on the left, and one on the right. The one your looking at is on the right, although the two that are on the left, go to a 2-1 splitter and it also goes into the same place slightly behind where the one your after is located. If you trace the one from here. through the splitter you will see where it will go. It will probably be easier to remove the intake pipe to put it back on. Hope this kinda makes sense mate! :thumbleft:
  9. Give me 5 mins, battery is dead so will give it 5 to charge - should be enough for a couple of photos!
  10. Failing on lights has gotta be schoolboy blown bulbs though surely!
  11. No worries dude. It'll be hard to get a pic, as its pretty tight there but if you put your hand under you should be able to feel it. Will try if you need though mate.
  12. Window control box...............?
  13. Just went and had a look, and it actually connects to the bottom of the intake pipe, just before it connects to the throttle body.
  14. There should be a little splitter it attaches to just behind the intake pipe to the throttle body iirc
  15. I didn't get into the car scene until I saw a mk2 GTI on ebay for £300 in decent nick. No bidders with seconds to go so I snapped it up thinking I'd got an absolute bargain!!! Needed some welding etc for the MOT which got when all totalled cost a fair amount, but I joined forums to fix it myself. It was going to a meet through one of the forums that I had a Corrado sat behind me. I must of nearly shunted the guy in front 100 times cos I couldn't tear me eyes from the rear view mirror. I had never really noticed them before, but it was like having the most beautiful woman in the world sat in the back of your car! I was smitten from that moment forward and just HAD TO HAVE ONE!!! The fact that the missus is insanely jealous of the care and attention (not to mention the time and money spent on it!) only adds to its charm and appeal! :2gunfire::grin:
  16. Fuel accumulator. There are rubber seals on the banjos that break down quite commonly.

    Car Wax?

It looks great from afar, up close.....................not so much!:lol:
  18. Aerial seal and the water is running forward towards the sunroof???

    Car Wax?

There are dedicated "ultra soft" pads for applying sealants/waxs etc......... Collinite 476s or 915 are both fantastic and amazingly durable, I've just spent the last 2 days detailing mine and I'm shagged now! I finished off after polish (3M Ultrafina with 3M blue pad), using 2 coats of Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 (phenomenal imo!), and 2 coats of CG Petes 53 Paste. Heres some pics.
  20. Love the wiper cover, will deffo be investing in that! I have the B&M shortshifter kit, was on when I bought it. Its much better than standard (drove a few when looking), but is a little too stiff imo. It does kinda give a reassuring clunk when going into gear though.
  21. I just replaced mine for lemforder ones last month. I'd say stick with OEM ones from the dealer. The drop part is slightly offset on the OE ones, the lemforder ones sit right in the middle. The welds are also very noticably larger and not tidied up afterwards. I got em cos I couldn't justify the £33 each the stealer quoted! Kinda wish I did go with it now, although not really noticable when in place. No tighter or less roll than with the old slightly perished ones tbh.
  22. With a really long extension on your socket wrench to undo the bolt, then from underneath I reckon for removal/replacement.
  23. If its noisy then obviously somethings wrong. Did it come with a warranty? Surely worth checking and getting it swapped anyway
  24. Where are you based James?
  25. Depends if its camber related though. Neg camber and its fine when cornering. Pos camber and theres very little contact with tyres and road. Same with the Toe. Toe out and its gonna be very skittish indeed when cornering!
