  1. http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1990/76/49/841543/ Think its number 34 in this, part number 113201943B
  2. Was the tracking and camber done after it was lowered? That'd be my first port of call anyway.
  3. That will look good. :thumbleft: Post a pic up when its all fitted.
  4. They do sell, just not for very much. Loads on ebay going for sub 1k. Obviously these are at the lower end of the quality scale, but people would just rather build up their ideal C now so they can add to it as and when they want/can afford. Its half the fun modding a car yourself, so the higher end ones just are not as attractive to most imo.
  5. The one one vortex looks a bit amateur, the metal tabs on the end have just been bent around the outer edge of the switch blank, but it kinda looks the only real way to do it. You may have to go the same route, but if you put some sort of cover over it, that would pass as OE I think, and you wouldn't be able to tell too much with the usb actually attached.
  6. Jamie your right, I'm such a tool I was just thinking about removing the GB from the mount for some stupid reason! Yes its two 13mm bolts for the mount itself to subframe. Should still be straightforward though and relatively easy. All will become apparent when your there. :bonk:
  7. Looks relatively straightforward. http://www.swdubs.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18438
  8. Its just your rocker gasket by the look of it. New ones are nice and cheap, you will need a new gasket for your inlet too but its a nice quick and easy job tbf.
  9. Its not as well attended as other forums Tom. Half an hour won't give you 2 pages of answers. Patience is where its at................. even if you've still not got an answer 2 years later.:ignore::lol:
  10. Don't have a clue though sorry.
  11. I had the cheapy TA Technics coilovers on my Mk3 when I first got it. They were a little crashy tbf, but not as bad as I would have imagined, and although I upgraded to Weitec they were not a million miles away with regard to comfort. The weitecs are one of the better ones and not cheap by a long shot either!
  12. Check around the stat housing too. Its not easy to see when your havin a quick poke around, but get it up on axle stands or a ramp and get your head underneath. You should see the snail trail where its leaking from if you have a decent level of antifreeze in there anyway. They really do leak from crazy places, and if your loosing that amount and having no ill effects when driving don't panic yet! :thumbleft:
  13. I have the same on my passenger side. It has also scratched the window, and subsequently ****ed me off! :censored:
  14. Dont be daft! Good luck with your search though mate!:thumbleft:
  15. No idea mate, it was on when I bought the car. I get a bit of stick from the local VAG lot about it being a bit chav, but its been on a while as the lacquer has started to slightly come away where its been bonded on. I dare not remove it without having a replacement boot, for fear of a costly respray! I also think its looks quite good actually!
  16. Remembering back I think I had similar actually with an old "cough" Pug 306  CV joint was actually coming away from the hub though so when on full lock, the driveshaft would pivot and lift the whole side up on each rotation! Was kinda funny actually, although quite serious looking back! :silly:
  17. Sorry if it seems patronising but is the switch on the stalk set to 2?
  18. Track rod/ ARB/ wishbones knocking on something/each other maybe. Need to pinpoint where its coming from like you said with someone down there looking both stationary and moving.
  19. 40mm here with 15" rims and 50 profile tyres. (standard basically)
  20. Its just one long bolt. Just get a trolley jack underneath the gearbox to support it whilst your changing it, and you can do it all from above. Should be a simple and straightforward job. :ignore::grin:
  21. Well its gonna cost you less in fuel and/or car hire than the inspection itself. Get yourself down there for the day!
  22. Don't drain fluids, like mentioned get someone to turn it over every few weeks to keep it lubricated. By all means drain and refill when your ready to put it back on the road, this would be a very good idea imo, but dont leave the block with no/little oil in for an extended period. I think thats the reason behind turning it over every now and then.
  23. Afraid to say that your idea is not very original fella. Have a look at the members gallery and this should suggest that it does indeed fit, and has been done on numerous occasions.
  24. Lucky you were sceptical about paying by bank transfer eh!
