  1. If the wipers at just touching when they're Parker, just remove the arms and realign. With the washer, have you touched the stalks/connectors? Is it worth reconnecting the original pump and seeing what happens. All seems a bit odd, but only thing I can relate it to was when I did my MFA stalk and somehow managed to reconnect it a pin out of line. Some of the options scrolled through iirc, but weren't showing the readings.
  2. Thanks Chris. They're back on the car now but it's difficult to get a pic with how it's angled in the garage. I'll get one next time it's out. 👍
  3. Duel Metallising in Birmingham, there have been a few post over the years with people recommending them. I posted mine. As long as you're comfortable stripping the unit down, it's small and light enough to post by recorded and insured delivery. They do state that it's not insured when return delivered though. A bit of a gamble but they arrived back quickly and safely.
  4. Indeed mate. No previous issues at MOT but they were looking pretty rough. I'd 'joey'd' them when I first got the car and when I removed the masking tape, it took a little bit of the reflective coating off with it. I wanted to get them looking original again anyway so pleased they've been done now.
  5. Christ, you're on one tonight Shaun! 😆
  6. I'd made a mistake with the products, it was Gravitex I used not Dinitrol. It is definitely rubberised though. I put it on with a brush after leaving it to go off slightly, so it was very thick and rubber like. You can get the texture right by layering and playing around with it at that stage.
  7. Yeah I used Dinitrol too. It's easy enough to get the texture the same as the factory stuff, but my underseal had yellowed quite a bit and was heavy with factory overspray. I went for white Dinitrol and it was too bright and obvious, so a heavier covering of overspray just made it look very patchy. As I had literally everything removed anyway, I just painted the lot!
  8. I'm sure you will mate. Matching the colour of the underseal may be a bit of a challenge. I just painted it all instead! 😆
  9. That car has been making appearances on Facebook groups over the past few months. Shit ad, you'd think the guy would have found out and known a bit more about it if he's imported it. I know I would buying such a heavily modified car. Not my cup of tea, but a lot of work looks to have gone into it. Just wonder what the standard of that work is, though it looks reasonable from afar.

    NLA bolts

Hello mate, all good thanks, hope you're keeping well. I didn't replace my rack. It looked in good order and I never had any concerns with it so just cleaned it up and resprayed it (it was just a bit greasy from a leaking sump a few years back). I've got a spare too so had that if the worst happened, but I needn't have worried as it's not leaking, and smooth and quiet.
  11. Hats off to you James, that's a huge amount of work that I think very few would have been prepared to undertake! 👍

    4 cylinder subframes

Thanks mate. Should be, it's had a nut and bolt restoration to the entire underside and running gear!

    4 cylinder subframes

The rear stub axles are different as they have holes for the ABS sensors. You can just about make out the plastic guides that the sensors go through. The studs for the brake pipe clips hold them in place and there are additional ones that you can't see that also hold them.
  14. Sounds good Chris. I loved your Blackberry - tbf I've loved all your cars though! 👍

    4 cylinder subframes

They don't pass through. There are plastic guides that clip onto studs on the axle. The presence of the studs is the only thing that may differ on ABS/non ABS axles.
  16. 😯 modifications!!!! 😆 In fairness, they're not very elegant and you would never miss it! About time we've had some progress since the garage has been finished! 👍
  17. Bugger, if I'd have known the location sooner I might have come to have a look! I'm only in Witheridge!
  18. All European Corrado VR6s came with the 2.9 ABV engine, Golfs had the 2.8 AAA as well as US Corrados. MOT & service history won't tell you if the engine has been replaced and aside from the block and intake manifold in early AAA, they're exactly the same (later AAA also had a different throttle body with OBD2 management iirc). I think it's more likely your engine has been replaced at some point in its life. If you have the original paperwork, you may have the engine number on it which would tell you for certain.
  19. Yeah mine is the Rayne one too mate. Well I have a Degree in Electronic Engineering so with you sourcing the bits and me making them, we'd be on to a winner! Lol
  20. One of my relays (2 relay system) has just died so I've disconnected it all. Need to investigate further but don't think is due to moisture as it's Velcro'd to the battery and underneath the cover. Imagine it's just sticking or a dry solder joint as it's been in place about 6 years.
  21. I've got the 2.2 euro 5 in my Tourneo Custom, currently on 203k. It's all about servicing from the COG forum. Mine has certainly benefitted from being an ex taxi and being serviced every 10k. Like a sewing machine. If left to ford recommend intervals (16.5k iirc) they won't last at all! The euro 5 has its issues as with any DPF diesel with injector recall close behind, but the euro 6 is no different from any other wet belt engine (think VW also use this now?). Prone to delamination and blocking the oil pump pickup, or just plain snapping. There is a recall and inspection on these too, but with multiple manufacturers sharing multiple platforms and engines (VW & Ford collaboration on the Caddy/Connect & T7/Transit) you'll see much more of this type of thing in the future too.
  22. As far as the rear beam is concerned, I wouldn't worry provided it's the same diameter head and tensile strength. You don't need to remove them completely at any point (other than removing the brackets as you are now), so when you put them back in, just do it with the axle removed from the bracket. That way there is no weight on it so they'll go in no bother at all. 👍
  23. Have you looked for ones for a mk3 Golf? They're exactly the same fitment iirc, and were supposedly an upgrade a few years back as less prone to blowing and likely far more plentiful. Nissens ones on eBay for less than £23 delivered.
