Cheers EnthusiastOwned Is changing the cams needed? Or just better performance at top end ? Here what I got He sed the timing chain guide rails have been done. Is this the tensioners? It's from a 95 golf "very clean inside and out". It does look v clean in the pics but untill I go to pick it up I won't know for sure. I'm looking to do it the cheapest I can really as its just a replacement. It isn't included but would the golf vr gearbox go in? Cheers Ben

Part numbers are different and this engine is OBD2 where as all Corrado VR6's are OBD1 unless they have been converted. I have a OBD1 VR6 in my Corrado so I can match them up and take a look, but from what I've seen the top radiator hose is slightly different as the Radiator outlet in the Golf sits lower, I can't see this posing a major issue. Once the hoses are off I can put them side by side with my original Corrado hoses and see what's what. Price wise I'll be thinking around the £100-150 mark depending on their condition. I read the corrado kit has 2 extra hoses. I'm guessing maybe for an auto or air con or sumin. Yea if you could match them up to yours and let me know if they're the same or similar that'd be great. No rush tho . Nice 1 mate Ben

Hey man would the samcos be the same as corrado 1s? If so how much? Cheers

Sweet cheers. Any difference between dizzy n coilpack engines? Mines a coilpack but not sure about the golf 1. If not will my coilpack bolt on? I've bought a 100,000 mile engine (new chain guides) for 60 quid! Would it be worth doing the chains aswell while it's accessible ? Also the engine has no belts on it! Is it just a case of fitting new ones and away you go? Or do they have to be put on a certain way? I haven't really done much engine work when the engines out so any tips/comments really appreciated. Or if there's a thread on something like this already that I could read though? Cheers Ben

Hey guys I've had a search but can't find a solid answer. Would this swap straight over in place of the 2.9? Not the obd2 stuff, just the block and head? Is it just a case of fitting all my original stuff to the 2.8 head and block? Cheers Ben

Hey dave could I grab both sides ? Cheers ben -
Wahey!! I've just been on the fone to elephant and as long as I have the policy number and company name I can use the no claims I accumulated! Win :D So with my dad on the policy i got quoted £688....…......! As long as it stays in that area somewhere il be smiling all the way to the bank! Haha Recieved the BMC from corrado16 aswell. It dosent look quite right! I was reading a thread not so long ago about fitting it the right way around, and looking at it it looks like the same was done on this ! The end you can see the filter in should be nearest the headlight surely? The other side just looks like a inwards rubber cone, and the stickers the wrong way up lol. Back soon with more pics( off of my drive :) )
-
Yea totally! My friend just this second called me and said there's a way to keep your no claims so I'll have a look at that when I'm home. Cheers for the heads up mate I'll get on the blower later . Any recommendations? Just had a look at valvers :(
