I'm looking at a BMC CDA filter on the bay . It's just for the air box, fitting bracket and jubilee. It's 70mm outlet to throttle body. Are all the boxes the same? What sort of tubing will I need to fit it? Is there a specific pipe I can look for? Or will it go straight onto my original inlet pipe? I've had a quick search but think the apps playin up as dosent return any results. New to the air filter biz so sorry if I'm being dumb :) Cheers ben

Funny thing is it seems to have been done already ! There was remains of light blue paint on the splitter bar and bottom of rad panel? Wierd. Yea but anyway I'm glad it's done now n outa the way. Need some garden hose and a way of attaching them to the bumper as the fixings were rotten as!

I drained mine and it was dark red. Just bort some cheap stuff to put in but I think I'll get the "proper" stuff now .

Benjevw replied to Corrado16's topic in Parts for Sale
Does the bmc come with fixings? Cheers Ben -
Pic of washers. Didn't let me put anymore pics on Lol yea man my dad keeps sayin it's been swimming. Rear beam needs a clean up aswell :( keep finding more n more crap but at least the chassis fine:s ! Don't spose anyone knows anything about its life before me? It's had a bit of work done( not good work), like a unrated headlight loom and I think different wipers. Bit of a long shot I know but only have history upto before the last owner had it! Cheers guys

A few pics of what I've been up2 the last few days. Crossmember off Engine mount looked a bit old n shizer but after takin it apart didn't look that worn. Grr Keep pressin the rong button!!!! Rustiness ! And last pic of the bracket I needed. New and old. That bracket again. Went a bit mad on the bench grinder, cleanin all the bolts I took out! Gave some a blast of hammerite. Just cus I had some left lol. Crossmember and rad support grinded up ready for paint. Painted! And with braket chopped off of old panel. More painted bits Sprayed up with toolstations very own wax protection spray. Good ol stuff! All back together now. Had a battle with a load of old jubilees on the power steering pipe , ended up just grinding them off . Got a load of new 1s and connected it all back up. Didn't loose much more thanx to a latex glove finger and some old rags. Thanx wheeler deelers lol. sprayed where all the panels met up with the wax protection stuff just to make sure. Fitted the top rad fixings I got from daves16v iirc. Look lovely with the polished Alan bolts . Didn't take a pic I'll add one next time. As the front bumpers off I hacked out the headlight washer jets and pipes. Again all the jubilees were fooked! Wondering whether to keep em or get it all smoothed. Think that's a job for the future as I need this on the road ASAP . I read about the new mot laws that are comin into play and I'm guessing these would be usefull for some people with xenons! I'll put it all back in for now as there's 2 gaping holes in the bumper. Just need to get the damn brakes bled. Keep putting it off for some reason. I got a easibleed thing but dunno if to just do it manually with my dad? Any tips from someone who's done it recently. Cheers

GSF said they could order 1 in from Bosch but didn't find out the price in the end as the fone wasn't workin :/ Could possibly be cheaper, I don't wanna find out now tho :(
-
Well it's 105 I think but with vat it came to 125 almost. I forgot my corrado membership card too so couldn't even get a discount :( I'm sure the GSF one that I got could've been modded a little but Jst wanted it fixed tbh.

Hi man I got rebuild kits for mine from big red on eBay. I think they were around 25 quid and come inner piston seal, outer dust seal, o rings and the slider pin seals. U may be able to get other makes but haven't looked . http://www.biggred.co.uk/catalogue.php

Cool thanx for the advice. I just got 1 1/2 ltrs so that should do hopefully. I have no idea when any fluids were changed tbh so I'll probly put new stuff in just for peace of mind. Come to think of it my steering was rather noisy . Cheers guys

Cheers kip How's the injuries? Daym dawgs!
-
Yea As far as I know just by lookin it is. So hopefully no surprises when fitting or I'll be ****ed. Cheers for the heads up on the wax , I think someone else said to slap a load around that area. Just got a can of black hammerite from the market I work at. I'll pop to tool station tomorrow mornin and grab a tub. Another thing, to get the panel out I had to remove a pipe from the power steering cooler that comes out the front . I lost a bit of fluid (another stain on the drive lol) before getting a bung in there , not a lot but I'm sure il loose more putting it back on. Is it worth changing the fluid ? Or just top it up? Does anyone know how much it takes?
-
Bump I can remove parts if needed too. Don't really know much about it apart from the guy took it outa his rado to fit a 1.8t . Think he said he had the kr built up with a turbo but couldn't get it running. Could've been someone on here but not sure. Anyway I need it gone ASAP as my mums moaning about all the "sh/t" spamming the drive lol 15 quid now , pick up only Cheers

I might just stick with the standard 1 for the time being as its not that hard to drop the crossmember. Vibratechnics mounts will be added to the growing list of bits too:) So here's the two rad supports for a comparison! As you can see the 1 I got off stuey is 100x better than mine. Started cleaning it up along with the crossmember and splitter bar ready for a coat of hammerite. I've got silver but might get some Matt black as i think itll look better( not that you can see it lol) This is the bracket that I'll have to make up. It's first thing on the to-do list so I can get it all painted and back together( hope my pals around early tomorra mornin). Cleaned up the new top mounts up aswell for a lick of paint :)

Don't forget to bring your bulletproofs ;)

I did mine a few weeks ago and would've never got them off without the bj remover. Have you tried heating it up?
-
