  1. i had clifford hell yesterday, in the underground car park at 8 in the morning. I didnt know what had happened, it turned out to be a corroded termonal on my battery, i didnt figure that out till i tried to lock it when i got home and it wouldnt work again  The joys of 15 year old electrics

    Digifant ECU's

Thanks, i went looking for a mk2 digifant (2 i think) loom i had this evening to see if it would fit the corrado's ecu, but couldnt find it, i have lots of 16v bits though
  3. I have to agree with Mark on lots and you need the leathers

    Digifant ECU's

Hi, i am just wondering if the plug connector on the Digifant 1 and 2 ecu's are physicly the same? I know its a bit of a strange one, but i cant see why they would not be. Thanks
  5. Well for the record, a bike will be faster, depending on what bike of course! A bike wont corner as quick as a car, and the ring is a lot of corners  if it were my choice i would be doing the corrado with suspension brakes......oh wait i am doing that already  but i would make that call as i would be at the very least in hospital if i had a bike
  6. Gearoid, all you need now is more power, suspension a new intercooler and some recaro's  best of luck with it!
  7. go with the suoerchip and start driving again. check the ecu that was in the car in another g60, like henny offered! see if the problem follows it, if so the ecu and or chip may be faulty see all seems to be coming together now, plus you have rebuilt the head too
  8. So what your saying Gearoid is that the brakes are mk1 golf, the suspension is mk1 polo and the engine is more powerful than a mk2 8v.......hmmmmmmm not a good combination  @Henny, Gearoid is a die hard polo boy anyway The thing is that G40's are cool but i think they are lethal little cars. Great city cars due to the size, but hitting 130 on a (private) motorway i think is a little mad

    Roll Cage

i have finally fitted the cage, so here are a few pics for people to see the look sorry about the big images, i forgot to resize them at home abd dont have any photo editing software here
  10. shame Gearoid's one is right hand drive then Its not that they are bad, but they are based on the suspension/brakes of the mk1 gti. Still i like them, but they are a little nuts
  11. This is a great thread, i see Gearoid(gsbellew) is up to it again! but he is converted to the g60 now as for the g40, a great little car, has a few shortfalls, like the brakes, gearoid nearly parked his in the boot of my vr6 on at least one ocassion. as for the high speed ability, well they are well up for a bit of high speed use, the more you rev it the harder it is on the charger within reason? no? the g40 i think it has been said is a more robust unit so should take more abuse than a g60, but all i know is that the little red polo(gearoid's) and the grey on(alex brothers) are little rockets, i just wouldnt like to be in a tip in one  as for top speed, you can do 135 anyway, but would you want to????
  12. ok, the afr should remain quite steady, if it makes any large movements, like to rich it will signify there maybe a problem with this, where is it spliced intot he loom of the lamda? have you disconnected the lamda or tried the ecu in limp mode to see if its different?
  13. did you check the lamda probe? is the car runnign mad rich? i would doubt it was the ecu, although i have seen a couple of G60 ecu's dying. if either the lamda or the lamda loom were not working correctly you would be getting a reasonable idle but no power and spluttering on accelerator. Does the exhaust smell of petrol? how do the plugs look once you run it for a few minutes?
  14. idea car, if money was no object.... difficult call, maybe a V10 autounion racer or a james dean porsche speedster
  15. http://www.gumball3000.com/content/html/launch.htm? take lots of pics!
  16. davebirl had these in his car and as far as i know he only left the front mount in because it was just too severe.

    dash insert panels

its the center bit, around the radio and air vents, i want to try and fit guages there, but dont want to ruin my one in the car if i cock up. So if its close to the corrado shape it should be ok, failing that anyone got a corrado one going cheap?

    dash insert panels

    Guage mounts

Show us where you got your guages? I need to mount some guages in my G60, but i was going to put them in the stowage bin in fronyt of the gearlever, but its too hard to look down there while driving, so i decied i need to find another place for them. So give me ideas!!!

    Grille's

different strokes i suppose i just feel the early ones a bit fussy.... plus i rekon the late one gives better air flow too
