yeah i thought of that Gavin, all 4 probes in the one cat/system

true, but a friend of mine has changed the inner drive cups from a mmk4 gti box (108mm) to those from a mk3 tdi box(100mm) for a 1.8T into a mk2, with this he was able to use standard shafts, so thats what i was thinking might work with the mk4 box in the corrado
-
are you all running the 020 boxes? I was looking at dutchdub's site (dangerous i know  ) and he makes a nice mount for the mk4 box. From what i have seen you need to mod the front engine mount bracket to make it fit round the bigger gearbox casing

part numbers it happened to me a few weeks back and i thought about drilling it and putting a washer and then a split pin to hold the washer but new parts would be best

I had simular running badly problems on my 1992 vr6 golf it was traced to valve stem seals being wron and the plugs becoming oiled up. I had left the car ito the dealers and they told me it was going to cost a grand in parts and not be a guarinteed fix. I rang stealth and ordered a set of leads and went to the local bosch guy and got a set of plugs. I changed them and it ran fine, but what would happen is sometimes you could feel it starting to oil up so all you could do is grab a low gear and nail it and it blew the excess oil out of the bore. This is not a fix, but it is diagnosis of the problem, the fix a top end rebuild. The other issue that i have seen is the fuel pump effectivly pack in, it seems to be fine, but then just dies, the way we tested this to get a line and run it from the pump feed to a bucket or petrol can and see its pumping properly. then put the line back on and get someone with a fuel pressure guage to check to see if it is maintaining fuel pressure or not. Neither of these will cost a lot. The VR6 motor is a great one and once you iron out the bugs you will start to enjoy it

i dont see why a decent lock smith company couldnt do that for you. i had it done with an e30 bmw a few years back as the key got lost.
-
is it like an over run? It is liek the car is trying to run on after you turn the ignition off? Or is it just the engine moves? To check the engine movement, you could put the handbrake on and get someone to let the clutch out as you watch the engine with the bonnet open

Cool, i was just not sure, i have seen many differing opinions on what is right and what is wrong. the vr's being 5 stud got me thinking.... anyone gone from the bolt setup to a stud and nut setup like the ones Bildon sell?
-
I am looking at a lot of big power corrado's and most seem to be 5 stud cars(based on a vr to start with) I am considering going narrow track 5 stud but dont know wheather i need to it will be a 16v g60 with about 250 bhp. Any of the big power 1.8t cars got 4 stud? We could do this like a school essay, discuss?

I am liking the jabba design, i saw it in the turbo'd corrado in one of the mags last month, they took the grille off and you could see it

best of luck, i will be keeping an ear to the ground on this! I have a 24v sitting in the garage so i might be using it soon enough
-

-
@kev, do you have a gsf part number for the 4 bar one? I presume it will work in a G60 sneder units as they are the same unit, right?

Anyone converted their 16v from k jet to digifant from a mk3
rmn replied to rmn's topic in Engine Bay
thats the ideal 16v setup, VW motorsports last of the line mk3 ABF kit cars ran up to 280 bhp in that configuration on motronic -

@flusted so your the trouble maker! I think the solution is as you said, for ease(and cos i still have not collected the abf engine loom) i will pop in the engine with the k jet and do some modding, and headwork too. then get it setup and dyno'd then in january or so i will fire in the electronic injection and get it mapped. Then we will see what the same setup on both will be like
