  1. right, second question! if i was to get it resprayed, sort the central locking with a full closure alarm and immob and whack an Eaton or G-lader on it then how much do you rekon it would be worth? Alex
  2. better than i imagined then! im gonna try and get some pics in better light today and i will post them up.
  3. i told you it sounds worse than it is! so what do you rekon then guys? cos the interior is pretty goot too isnt it. i forgot to say that when you lift those original Corrado floor mats the carpet looks like its never been stepped on, its immaculate. Alex
  4. right then here are some pics that i have just done! some better than others cos hte light was a bit funny round the house and then it got dark! i just realised i forgot to do the engine bay  hope this helps
  5. its the standard dark cloth with green/navy cheque. the car doe have aircon that works fine and the boot spolier is fine too, comes up at 50kmh plus i forgot to mention its had a brand new clutch about 10km ago when i was in dubai
  6. i cant do that as it has already been to teh US and i wasnt able to keep it thre longer due to daft regulations that are similar to the new SVA. all in all it would have needed about 5k pounds worth of work doing to it to make it legal there! this was for stupid things like a drivers airbag and additional re-enforcing behing the bumpers to take imacpts from the generally heavier vehicles over there (things that are not on most cars over there of its age and especially not he Corrado's). what im going to do is get it out of the garage and take some pictures of the car to give a better idea of how its looking and then see what the general consensus is. Alex
  7. i dont have the time or space mate, im moving house in 4 weeks and only have 1 parking space with no garage
  8. i expected as much but are we looking at 100 quid, 500, 1000 or what? its cosmetic damage to the wing and i am providing a replacement with the car as i have done a decent bit to it already, new CV joints, boots, ball joints etc so its all fine.... im welcome to any inspection, it sounds worse than it is really. it also has 2 new tyres. the LHD models actually have better handling than the RHD ones as the engine is offset against the driver's weight so you get the prefect balance  i know what you mean though with the UK roads but this is a proper german origin car though and the age that it is they didnt do a RHD G60 in the UK anyway so all the others of the same age will be LHD as well! Alex
  9. hi everyone, i havnt been on the forum for ages now but i have just registered my Corrado G60 over here and am wanting to sell it. it has been garaged and unregistered here for the past 3 years and is in need of a bit or care and attention. this is the lowdown: 1991 LHD Corrado G60 (PG) no G-Lader its had a temporary by-pass done. n/s/f wing needs replacing due to minor accident damage but i have that to go on the car (needs respraying red) i bought the car in the middle east in 1998, it came from Japan at the time and i have the VW letter to support this. i then took it for 1 year to California with me and drove it around and about 2 weeks before i shipped it back to you UK the G-Lader blew up! since then its sat in my garage and has not been driven. because of the climate it has been in there is not a single spot of rust on it anywhere but as it is Tornado Red its more of a Tornado Pinkish as it stands! as well as the heat causing this, the material of the roof lining has come off towards the top edge of the boot. the ignition barrel is faulty so you have to turn the key a bit more than you should and the central locking doesnt work. i have no service history for the car at all. the car has done 110000Km/68000 miles and even after being left standing for 12 months started with no problems (with the aid of a power pack) the car runs fine but the cables need adjusting slightly on the gearbox as its a little bit notchy but i know this is definately not the synchro cos i have had no problems with it until it has been standing in the garage. its just been registered by the DVLA this week and currently has 12 months MOT. basically my question is.... how much is it worth? thanks in advance,
  10. hi there, just trying to fill in some forms to get my car registered here and need to know the exact engine capacity as one of the questions.... tried to go onto the ccgb website but im getting unknown host :? cheers,
  11. erm........ he may be saying that the tires had structural damage?? i had this with one of my back ones where the inner edge had knobblies like a landrover
  12. how much did the laser alignment cost you? mine needs doing since i have pulled the front end to bits! do the poly bushes make it stiffer over the bumps? while i had mine appart i did the ball joints, outer cv joints and top mounts on both sides too! 8) replaced the wishbones a while back so they are ok. whats it like doing the wheel barings cos i need to do one of my rears, got the kit from GSF but have yet to bring myself to doing it! cheers, Alex
  13. bet thats not all you want to be bouncing all over with her then   yeah the G60 is standard at the moment, has needed some work doing to it as its sat in the garage for about 3 years with a blown charger while i was at uni so i have been working all summer on it to get it back on the road. too cold to keep going with it now though so will be back on the case next summer. i have had quite a few niggly problems with it that have been time consuming but i am finally getting there! saying that its got no rust on it anywhere and only done 62k from new! i think that most people would have given up on it by now but i love the car too much and just cant bring myself to get rid!
  14.  PMSL! Ford = Found. On. a Rubbish. Dump! just cos its the RS it is still a ford focus at the end of the day! usual Zetec engine with a turbo on it too so not at hard nailed as the traditional RS's with Cossie engines! fragile flaw springs to mind?
  15. too right Kev, good figures on the car there, you need to get it on RR!! 8) as said, have been a member of the forum long before getting the CTR so know its a great place to be! i stil love my G60 but cos of its age i dont want to push it too much so thats why i have the CTR as my run around! i love to rev the nuts off a car too, so does suit me well! have to be a bit more conservative on the red line with a G lader under the bonnet! cheers,
  16. Kev, you car's looking pretty sweet! i havnt been on the forum for a while now and its certainly changed! nice rims 8) your VR isnt exactly standard tho is it?? whats the BHP you pushing out now? thing with so many cars getting modded these days its hard to tell what you are up against too when you are out and about! my CTR isnt standard and there are some lads on there that are pushing 300 Bhp on standard internals and no NOS! racing is a bit of a taboo topic on the CTR forum i am on tho, its just that sometimes ppl do get a bit 'enthusiastic' as you phrased it about what it is capable of! i mean take a look at this thread that we have hijacked on scoobynet! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.p ... ge=1&pp=20 some idiot thinking hes beeten an E55 merc! PMSL    i have to say to you mods tho that this forum is far friendlier and much easier to use! much respect! 8) cheers,
  17. hey Samm, when i said have you been reading my other posts, i meant on http://www.civictype-r.co.uk i am one of 'those CTR boys'! (my daily driver) couldnt afford an R32 and was mortified at the lack of performance in the Golf GTI Turbo 180 for the prices they ask! but yes you are right, there are some who get carried away with the CTR's capabilities and need a kick back down to earth tho! it tells all on this 1/4 mile simulator really against the R32 http://www.jsread.com/tvr/quartermile.htm and my cousin has an R32 and its close but i cant beat him! :x corrado has much better handling than the CTR too 8) cheers,
  18. cheers Steve, knew you would be the man to clear it up with all the stuff you have done to yours  m1cah, if you are having the hub off to look at the bearing then you may aswell check out the CV joint at the same time. clean it out with some white spirit, if there is any scoring or the race has play in it then that is a sure sign of wear. its a enough of a pain in the arse as it is getting it all of and back together so you would be better off to kil two birds with one stone IMO. stevemac is probably the best chap to discuss this with tho as i have only done limited stuff to mine cos its only done 62k from new! cheers,
  19. Steve, thought if it was bearings then they would whine first and you would get play in the front wheels when pulling on them with your hands when parked?? m1cah, if the wheel hub nut was loose then it has to be one of the above. i would be more inclined to say that its the ball joints or more likey the CV joints as there has been movement of the wheel hub on the CV joints & driveshafts in the wrong directions! i had a shot CV joint a while back and that made those sorts of sounds. try a 'parking' speed full turn lock to lock. if its worse then and you get some 'clicking' its porbably the CV joints. cheers,
  20. cheers for knocking me back down to earth there Matt (as a misguided 'G60' driver) just remember tho, length isnt everything! just cos its short dont mean its not fat! i distinctly remember reading that the VR is heavier and they had to slightly increase the ride height, which did impair the handling?? with a G lader being such a 'great lump' have you ever had one in yer hand? its not going to make that much difference! i know its not a lot heavier than the G60 but thought it was closer to the 1.5t mark? but if thats what the handbook says then thats good enough for me! its only the lads on the CTR forum bitching that the VR is a lard ass anyway! as an owner of a G60 and CTR i would just like to enlighten them and knock them back down to earth a little!  cant really coment on UKDM G60's to VR6's handling tho as mine is LHD = perfect wight balance! cheers,
  21. Samm, you reading my postings on other forums??  lads, i thought that it was heavier than that cos my G60 is 1213kg and i thought that the VR is a fair bit heavier cos of the block??
  22. just wondering cos i am trying to clear this up on another forum in amongst other things! cant get onto the CCGB site at tho mo  help would be appreciated
  23. Congrats matey, better keep a spare box of match stick to keep the eyelids open at work from now on! :)
  24. yeah i was totally thinking along the lines of Suzuki Escudo from Gran Turismo!!! 8) thats what you call driving by the seat of your pants! one slip and ther aint no saving you from that one!!!!
